    Molotow is the way to go for chrome paint finish. I use it on my model cars to do the chrome trim. It works great.

      @@MJRLHobbyStuff YKnow, since you got some spare cans at home if you're not using em for anything else if you're looking for a neat hobby you could pick up graffiti, try out a couple of tags, maybe a throwie, or even work towards making a piece 8)
      There's a lot of tutorials online and you can add your own style, it can be an incredibly rewarding / cathartic experience + people will look up to you if they see ur work out on the streets.
      Seriously man it's just one of those things you should just try cause there's no way i can pitch this to you. It can feel amazing that's all i'm saying. There's like well over 100 reasons and i think the only way to get why you'd want to try it out is by actually trying it out :P
      + the cans you got (montana) are really good for painting walls with

    The ring around the top of montana cans indicates the color, that for sure wasnt gloss black it was either matte or satin

    How would Molotow Chrome Paint wear when it comes to cosplay ?

    • @MJRLHobbyStuff
      @MJRLHobbyStuff  Před 6 měsíci +1

      It’s very on the delicate side. If you apply it to very small areas it should be fine, but if you have really large areas maybe regular metallic silver spray paint would be a better/cheaper option. But if money is not a problem go for it.

  • @johnhughes2653

    Might have got a better finish with the Montana by doing several thin coats. Many chrome effects don't work if you lay them on thick.

      @@MJRLHobbyStuff You'd also want to use a mid coat. Use (acrylic) floor wax as a mid coat so the paint doesn't react with the glaze.

    I think that you sprayed way too much clear coat on the spoons. Especially given you applied it all in one coat. Just my 2 cents I could be wrong. As usual.

    • @MJRLHobbyStuff
      @MJRLHobbyStuff  Před 3 lety +1

      You could be right. The clear coat I have is called “triple thick” so even a single coat may have been too much

    I never had experience with molotow chrome paint before... Just wondering if we can touch the surface after it dried without ruin the mirror effect...

    • @MJRLHobbyStuff
      @MJRLHobbyStuff  Před 2 lety +2

      Actually you can touch it, but it will leave finger prints, and eventually if you touch it a lot the chromed effect will fade

    Have a question is the liquid chrome pen washable and scratchable

    • @MJRLHobbyStuff
      @MJRLHobbyStuff  Před 2 lety +3

      It is somewhat durable, but constantly touching it will remove the shine after a while. I personally haven’t tried it yet but a clear gloss coat should protect it. I believe Gaia makes a Clear gloss that works ok with Molotow chrome but I’m not 100% sure. More research is needed. When I know for sure I’ll back to you
