The Italian "pinched fingers" gesture has a meaning and this meaning is "what do you want", it's not just a random gesture, in Italy all gestures have a meaning, so ...you look a little bit stupid when you say an Italian word like "ciao" or "spaghetti" and at the same time you say with your hand "what do you want".

I’m from uk and I love Italy I like to try and emerse myself in the Italian culture as much as I can and now I can feel the cringe that the Italians like you must feel when watching some American say “SPAGHETTI” with the stereotypical hand gesture.
