If the aliens are this sensitive to sound and cannot swim, why don’t the military just set up a boom box playing baby shark doo doo doo or My Heart Will Go On on repeat and watch the aliens throw themselves into the ocean?
That would be a double-edged sword. The song baby shark will also make the soldiers jump into the water
What is the problem with the song "My heart will go on"?
Or Never Gonna Give You Up
@@amitkenan3878 There is no problem. Just imagine the aliens drowning while that song is played.
Aliens instinctively knows water is bad for them maybe from reflection of sound they feel water will not carry them. Death angels have incredible mass that is why they are immune to the most weapons. Their planet seems to have much higher gravity than earth so they might be scared of places like quicksand or water that will make them sink.
me hating my brain over the fact i noticed that cat didnt batter an eyelid at the massive creature slamming into steel but would likely freak tf out over a cucumber

A cucumber is the most frightening thing imaginable.
How does poor Frodo manage to stay so quiet and calm? Or is he just so terrified he can't make a sound?
I think it's because he's a service cat so he's trained to stay calm in intense situations. If so, he's really good at his job!

This is such a terrifying scene. Being chased through New York by ravenous monsters unused to normal life as opposed to their high life attacking you for the slightest discomfort... oh, this is in Wall Street? Never mind, that's just a normal day there.
ah yes, let's go into the subway tunnel known for creating echoes, while we're at it let's just jog down these marble stairs, surely that wouldn't be significantly louder than either sliding down the ramp or simply staying above ground where again, there wont be constant echoes of every decibel.
it's a movie, expecting it to perfectly be realistic isn't entertaining. if it was perfectly realistic, literally nobody would survive,
Echoes only exist because of noise, which you can just avoid making. Not to mention, echoes also make it harder to locate where the source of the sound comes from.
Technically, being underground would be the quietest place for you to be assuming you're dressed for it, and thus would be the safest place to be. Though they aren't dressed for quiet. Even so, the creatures seem to prefer staying above ground less noise makes them go underground, so in most cases, its not anymore dangerous than being above ground. Especially since the creatures can seemingly hear through solid windows several stories up and through walls. So its not like being above ground is any better regardless of decibel echos or in general such like that. In fact, being in such an enclosed space is or would be dangerous for the creatures as if a loud enough sound plays inside, then you could essentially kill it if not cause it to have hearing damage. As we've seen in the first and second movies I believe.
Well the problem with being above ground was that there was a ton of them and ANY SLIGHTEST SOUND could alert them, so yes, going underground was the best course of action as they can avoid all the creatures on the surface
@@willnelson9906 I think they can, they just need to crawl out of the city, it may be hard but atleast they die trying the most logical choice.
If they choose the illogical choice that is entering echoing tunnel which is worse, rather than be entertaining it can be annoying.
I've never had a cat that QUIET! 😺🤣
So as someone who lives in New York, this is not Wall Street. This is Midtown Manhattan near (and inside) Lexington Ave 59th street Subway station.
Why did they not film in new york tho?
This was filmed in london for some reason
@@LewisRJHopeLondon is scarier
@@shrekchrist2857
Fair, even us Brits are still sometimes surprised by how brutal it can be there
@@LewisRJHopeit was cheaper to film in London with the new York background done in CGI
One thing I never get with these is that the death angels are so sensitive to sounds that they hone in on the nearest one, but when they jump off buildings they just ignore the sound of the shattered glass crashing down. Wouldn't that loud of a sound grab their attention more than a suble thud of a breifcase tipping over? Especially when there are other angels causing even more glass to rain down and shatter on the ground.
My guess was that all the sounds of impacts and breaking glass is how they didn’t get caught instantly since it was masking their running and breathing.
I don’t understand… couldn’t they have walked 30 feet down the street, sat down, and waited quietly until the monsters left? As long as they aren’t near the sound source anymore they’re invisible…
Uhh pretty sure not everyone on planet earth has the nerve or mental capacity to out wait a KILLING alien horde.
Logically if a deaf giant alien demon monster thing is chasing after you, I highly doubt anyone would sit there and wait calmly for the creature to leave. Even though it’s deaf, realistically no one would do that. Not to mention a lot of people wouldn’t even realize the monsters can’t see, their first reaction would be to get out of its sight even if it can’t see.
@@jasmineslaughter6054 the characters are completely aware that the monsters are blind by this point in the film
@@SydwasheretheIII I know that, but realistically not many people would notice they’re blind. And when your adrenaline kicks in, you aren’t gonna think logically. Getting chased by literal beasts is gonna have you adrenaline pumping, your not gonna think completely straight, you’re just gonna want get to safety
Not to mention the monsters are so big and fast that I'd be worried about one of them simply steamrolling me on the way to investigate some other noise.
2:48 stellar performance from the cat, truly masterclass acting!
I wonder how well a flash bang grenade would work in this scenario.
One problem the monsters can't see
My guess is that it would be an inconvenience at best, though it might temporarily obscure their hearing temporarily. That's if their face thing is exposed. It might not work at all when they're fully armored.
They are only sensitive to a specific frequency not all sounds hurt them
@@hadbetterdays8118 well that’s where the bang part of flashbang comes in
@@aayushraghuram8083flash bangs have a very high pitched noise. It would cripple them, perhaps permanently
0:49 YOU HAVE ALERTED THE HORDE! ⚠️
Sure they can hear a book dropped from hundred meters away and not the peoples heartbeat
fr
I think heartbeats might've blended with background ambience
@@immortal_shrooms6757 bats, well, to hunt small animal with no heartbeat they use the eco they send and precise whats the environment around them, which are prey and not prey. prey with a heartbeat, they simply hear it without the eco help because of their high sensivity ears. these monster should have the same feature as bat since they can determine a dead people but somehow the movie always ignore this fact. no matter how good you hide, your hearth will stll pumping lettng them know where you are
My theory is, since heart beats have a constant rhythm and isn’t abrupt like dropping something, it’s considered a ‘natural noise’, which is why they don’t attack/go crazy around rivers, streams, fountains, water falls, rain or any other natural noise.
The heart will go on.
1:18 he picked up a chunk of concrete. What's he gonna use it for?
1:23 oh... okay that can work as a distraction
One thing I never get about apocalypse movies is why there aren’t corpses everywhere
The aliens took the bodies for their nests that's why.
really
also dead bodies still make just a little bit of sound, sooooo…and an alien has to eat!
another reason is usually because the movie makers tend to focus on more important details
Oh because it's PG-13. 😂
Find some sneakers man! You don't think they're not going to hear you Fred Astairing across the parking lot?
if aliens are so sensitive to sound why don't they constantly attack eachother considering the amount of noise they make everytime they move?
If their hearing is that sensitive that any soubd attracts them there woukd be no way to hide from them. Breathing is actually fairly loud when no other sound is really going on.
This premise really did not work if you think about it at all. From the magically 50 cal proof monsters, to the fact that no one uses their weakness to water as a large scale response, to the fact that these highly noise sensitive creatures roar all the time, to the fact that people run away instead of quietly barefoot stepping.
No doubt, you’d want the exact opposite of “A Quiet Place” you’d want to go where the ambient noise is the loudest
Hey hey, whoa now - you can't question how they make dramatic tension in movies. Sacrilege! Jk, yeah, same here. In fact, the story makes them out to be impregnable and thus indestructible, yet their insides are perfectly vulnerable. Umm... that's not how physics works, hahah. Creators didn't think about blunt force trauma. They say the creatures are able to handle explosions, but even if a 105mm HEAT round from a tank couldn't penetrate their armor, it'd still kill the thing purely about the shock wave.
1:21 You have alerted the Horde
Radios with remote control charges to explode and this is a short film.

Eben geschaut. Guter Film, echt spannend und nervenkitzelnd. Daumen hoch mal 5.
So, they can't hear someone breathing right next to them, but somebody running can be heard through glass and concrete through glass breaking in a different section. Maybe MAYBE if they were wearing clogs and screaming as they ran, but they were only running.
I love B-horror movies, but when they're meant to be serious and they aren't thought-out at all, it bugs me to no end.

Running to the subway
How lucky is it that every car they passed just happened to have alarms?
because every single car have alarms
@@Darkheart285 Thankfully.
If they are blind how do the aliens jump off a building and precisely drop through a glass roof to the ground?
They probably use echo location to hear obstacles nearby them
@@michaelangelobarberis2011 If they had echo location they wouldn't need to hear to detect things in the first place lol.
So no.
By locating sound, assuming their hearing ability is much greater than any thing on earth
Plot armor.
Nakia and Human Torch vs Death Angels
Nakia and Eddie Munson vs the Gorn
They were very lucky the rails were not under voltage
What about the sounds made by the creatures themselves? Will they attack each other with their own sounds?
This plot has a habit of overlooking the obvious.
If there was a little more fact checking they most likely would have captured one and found a weakness in them.
Only if those facts were peer reviewed 🧐
A Quiet Place DAY ONE, they probably would in time, but it just started
I feel like in almost every given situation where you accidentally make a noise you could always just freeze and stand there not making a sound until they walk off, it would work 99% of the time unless they were like 10 feet away or happen to accidentally walk into you.
i forgot which scene it was, but in a very very quiet room they can focus their hearing enough to hear heartbeats. It was featured in this movie as well, but for the benefit of the doubt (and plot ofc) new york is ambiantly a loud city
really should just take their shoes off. lol
So they hear the brief case, but not the stomping of their feet?
yes
They obviously can’t hear anything over the intense blaring orchestral music.
Subway with light on = eletric power and shit isnt ok mixed with water
I fell like maybe staying outside is a bit safer? Like yes there’s a swarm, but plenty of nature sounds as background noise to help cover your breathing and stuff, VS being inside a derelict building with no power and no background noise
If only the military had developed a device or a machine that would make& unleash a very loud sound (100 decibels), it could have probably gaved them advantages against the aliens during combat engagement.
No one knew the death angels weakness at the time
It's not even future tech, such tech is already out there
@@user-oo7xh7rw4qanyone, especially the military, would be able to follow the line of logic going from “these aliens have really sensitive hearing” to “hey, what if just blasted them with a super loud or high pitched noise?”
@@jonathantadlock-stein2023 probs would take a couple days for the military to find out if they ever find one showing it’s flesh from ether a camera or from a tall building because they’ll know not to go up close to a death angel
Literally pick up a rock and throw it 😂
Ah yes leave it to the military to be utterly useless yet again
In every post apocalyptic film, they always seem to be useless
Those damn demogorgons just won't give Eddie a chance won't they?
The aliens themselves jumping everywhere and landing hard on surface and metal making all sorts of sounds and clanks and clonks on metal stairs and cars, or breaking through windows. But somehow they don't attack themselves or those sound sources. They specifically recognize if the sound was human-made. This reminds me of the Super Mutants in the Fallout games, you walk in some house guarded by them, if YOU walk or run around and there's one in the next room you'll hear him say "Huh? What was that? A noise." Yeah, a noise, like the noises you and your chums make when you walk around on those old decrepit wooden floors, but somehow you know those sounds are from your chums only.
I do like the concept of this series and its monsters, but the actual execution is terrible.
Maybe the monsters also attack each other but are quick to dodge due to their reflexes. I dunno 🤔
Or you're just thinking way too hard.
LMAO @ clanks and clonks
I'm pretty sure the creatures recognise who their own species are. So that's why they don't attack each other.
It’s because those are all natural noises to them
How do the aliens avoid attacking each other? I mean a sound wave is a sound wave. If an alien steps on a stick how can the other aliens tell it was just one of them and not a human? Those aliens are pretty loud themselves. Did the writers not think this out?
What are these 2 worrying about... they got a fully loaded kitty there... claws set to 'let's rip some alien faces off'!
Wow, i love this film
guy with no survival skill, first thing to do would be ditch those loud social shoes and stay on socket. sneaker is fine, there is a reason for its name
We need an Aliens vs death angles
Man, that's kind of terrifying to have these creatures be in a city like New York, because in smaller towns you most likely have to worry about at least one or two Death Angels, but in a city you have to deal with at least like 50 or 100 more of them.
Apparently all monsters love new york
I’m glad the comments are questioning this movie as well, there were lot of unrealistic moments that didn’t make sense like the first two movies
i personally find them a bit too much lol. it’s a movie. i think even the directors and actors know how unrealistic some things are, but 100% realism for a movie about alien monsters invading earth is just, well, not exactly 100% realistic to begin with. If the realism is what bothers you then i don’t think horror movies should be your go to, and plus, the point of this franchise isn’t the realism it’s the story
Well if they’re smart enough to not jump in just lure them to the edge and pick them off one by one I mean to be honest the fact they can’t see and can only hear (hear things in close proximity and if they are loud enough as the films show loads of times) that’s a pretty big flaw which you could take advantage of pretty easily
Why couldn’t they just make a continuation from the second movie? It ended on a cliffhanger type of thing just like the first movie had. Well…. I know why.. but still
Can’t wait for the video game! I know what I want for my birthday 🎂
Stopped watching this movie when I got to the scene where hundreds of survivors marched together in the open street all to get slaughtered. They all had figured out what attracted the creatures by then but still acted like dumb asses. Also, where did all those people come from and how did they even communicate to mass conjugate?
1:24 is that a Dacia Duster in the middle of New York?
What if they just made an under water base with rlly rlly long tubes that go rlly up in the air in the middle of the ocean so air can flow in and so they have oxygen in the under water base?
The scariest scene in the movie 😂
this scene breaks the lore, see how they all pounce the cars when hearing an alarm from one car. so they can see
Eait there blood splattered all over the side walks wheres the bodies? I thought thevdeath Angels dont eat them

@@mr.trouble827not really. The Air Force blew up the bridges and isolated Manhattan so they already knew the aliens couldn’t swim. Movies like these either make the military useless for the sake of making their concepts sound remotely possible or they use the military for convenience
@@BL-bg1fj I still question how did the military knew before all this happened.
Forgive me! - I have not seen this movie! Just two quick questions! > Isn't water the very BEST NATURAL SOUND CONDUCTOR?? ...So! - if they want to hide - then why choose same water-canal?? If these "createrures" (or whatever they are) are able to detect (...passively!...) sounds passing through air - then they will be able to do it EVEN MORE SO THROUGH WATER (though I don't know if they can submerge or for how long?). Second question! (...&MOST OF ALL!) - do they use ONLY PASSIVE echo-location or have any ACTIVE systems to map their surroundings ?? - i.e: do they generate quick-high-frequency sound "burts" (that would seem like "clicks" or series of them to our ear!) to create an instantaneous 3D-model of their surrounding AND ARE ABLE TO DETECT A PROFILE OF A HUMAN FORM THROUGH THAT METHOD?? ...or do they rely just on PASSIVE echo-location (just like SONAR-systems on subs do, for the main part, engaging the ACTIVE sonar only when absolutely necessary) ??
They don't seem to understand water. They can't swim and have been seen drowning in past movies.
