- If you are looking to buy a grappling dummy, in my opinion, the Celebrita dummy is the best dummy for the money. It has the most realistic anatomy of the dummies we have used, and it is also the least expensive. This particular dummy is the 70" Celebrita Kneeling dummy, which I bought on Amazon for $100.
By using some pex tubing and some foam pool noodles, you can increase the ability of your dummy to resist against your movements.
Wow the crazy thing is I was just scrolling through reviews of good dummies bc I was gonna buy a new one n this came up n this is the exact one I already have! Thx for this man!
Right on!
now i have to buy a second dummie ,,,great idea.
Thanks for sharing the great idea. I'm definitely going to do this with mine. Thank you.
Thanks for the video. I purchased the same dummy as a Christmas gift for my daughter.
that is a great workout just pacing it! thnak you for putting in the time to share this.
You're so welcome!
Great content mate.
Lockdown got me making props at home to use for my online kids classes.
I’m just making one out of pool noodles, towels, small beanbag weights, an old Hose, a couple of wooden broom handles but since we don’t have a proper grappling dummy skin, we gotta improvise with a Hoodie and Sweat Pants.
Much respect, and thanks for the inspiration.
That sounds amazing! I love improvisation! Let me know how it turns out!

Will do Brother !
Lol! You guys are great! I just got finished LMAO!😂😂😂 at my last video on this & you’ve up my pleasure. You should have patented this before you uploaded! Nice to see you moved to the garage!
I was thinking of using one of the body’s from my family’s funeral home to practice. I know you may not approve but I honestly don’t see the issue. And it’s a real person. Perfect training. I was thinking of making a video. Illl tag you buddy. Thankyou.
Nice job dude. I am hope to get a dummy to practice self defense move and wanted a dummy that had some resistance. Thanks for the excellent tutorial.
awesome stuff i just filled mine last night with just clothes but not happy with it so this will be a better idea
Great instructions, thanks! Where can I get get 30 lbs of shredded clothes? Or would it be easier to use something like sand?
I cheated and used old punching stuffing. Sand will be extremely hard to manipulate, and will probably leak through the seams. I would find an old punching bag, or go to the Goodwill and buy 35 lbs worth of old clothes. The punching bag is way easier.
Guys! Rubber Granula 3 to 6 mm 60 kg. Total weight 70 kg and you can Form him however you want. Cost nothing.
I thinking I read this comment on another video. Sounds like a great idea. I might just do that with mine, when I get it. Might use noodles for skeletal structure and then fill areas with the granulate. You got any good recommendations for where to buy?
Excellent build
Great idea. Will do this to my two grappling dummies. Thank you
This is probably the best dummy tutorial I’ve seen. It’s been close to 9 months since you created this video.
In all honesty, how often have you used it since? Was it worth it? Or is it collecting dust somewhere?
I use it almost daily. I have a routine during my morning workout to do a couple drills on it. I don't use it for a super long time, just consistently. I will have a video out tomorrow regarding updates to the dummy design, and my review of it.
@@efficiencyjiujitsu417bjj2 Great. Thanks for the reply.
@@efficiencyjiujitsu417bjj2 Can you make a video on the drills you do on the morning with the dummy please?
Please an alternative option to PEX tubing? I dont see it available in my location.
You can use any type of hoses or tubing from Lowes
Theoretically a good idea, but this way the dummy loses its „knees“, and to be frank, a kneeling dummy for BJJ would be füthr much more natural position.
How’s your BJJ dummy surviving? Would you do anything different?
impactajuvenile when I practice heel hooks, I would like more knee articulation, so I might attach a flexible fitting in the knee on the next one I make. Everything else I will keep the same.
That's awsome!
Have you got thebuse of the dummy?
On reflection, would you do just the same or is there anything you would change in retrospect?
We are constantly experimenting. We just did a dummy with heater hose for the knees, elbows, and shoulders. It turned out awesome. We made a video, but the audio did not come out well. I will probably post it later this week anyway.
Super nice bro
Where do you get shredded clothes from?
I used noodles on mine but thought about doing it with pex, too. Now I'm going to have to upgrade and put in the pex
How effective has it been beyond ground work, i.e. 1) throws 2) punching 3) kicka
It is not very effective for anything but ground work and certain takedowns. You can punch it, but the material is much thinner than a typical heavy bag. I only use mine for ground work and rolling takedowns.
Where did you get the cloth strips? Can't find it for the life of me
Christopher A - I cheated and just pulled the shredded clothes out of an old MMA dummy that we weren’t using. The best way is to find a punching bag that is torn up that no one is using, but it for $5 or $10, and fill it with the stuffing. Cheap unused bags can be found at garage sales, Craigslist, etc... otherwise just stuff it with shredded, unusable clothes from your stash or the goodwill. Or... if you are near Springfield MO, you can stop by the gym and we can hook you up with some.
Did you buy the shredded clothing? If so, do you mind sharing where you purchased it? I started cutting up clothing for mine and it's a painful process...
I didn't buy it, I cheated and used stuffing from an old grappling dummy. I'm lucky enough to know lots of people with worn out punching bags, so I have basically unlimited free shredded cloth to use.
Hey man! Thanks so much for sharing this. It will help me out so much! And just a question, what belt are you? At the moment I’m going onto grey belt 2 stripe.👍👏🏻🤟
I am a 22 year practicing purple belt! Unfortunately during the 22 years of BJJ, my training has not been consistent. I left the art to pursue boxing, Muay Thai, and other interests. I may do a video in the future about not feeling shame when you have not gained belt rank. Good luck to you!
Efficiency Jiu Jitsu 417 BJJ Thank you man!
Jesmesh M yeah I’m 11
Any suggestions for getting the knees to bend like it is in a recumbent guard with knee-elbow connection? I just got an unfilled dummy and want to work on some guard passing drills. Sorta need the legs to stay in semi-realistic positions and snap back into place.
Matthew Levy I’m going to do some experiments with old rubber heater hoses from a car, but I’m not sure what will work best yet. When I find a solution, I will put out a video.
Efficiency Jiu Jitsu 417 BJJ so I’ve been playing with the idea of buying a cheap Halloween skeleton (tallest I can find is 5’6”) and screwing in a bunch of springs at the major joints. A cheap skeleton might not work, so I may end up making my skeleton out of PVC. Not sure what I’ll do to keep the bones together or what I’ll use for the hip if the Halloween skeleton doesn’t work. Just thinking out loud here... I’m not particularly handy, but this whole COVID-19 thing is really making me miss BJJ.
Matthew Levy awesome, let me know how it works out!
How stable is it for holding its position? Can it sit in your closed guard for triangle and armbar drills?
It will not hold a kneeling position. This is one of the reasons I am making one with an articulating knee. I am building it today. Stay tuned, I will release the video in the next couple days. Check out my Review and Update of Supercharged Grappling Dummy video for more details about what I like and don't like about the dummy.
I don’t have any old clothes to use
Would shredded memory foam be a good material for stuffing the dummy? TIA
Absolutely!
Where could you get clothes of yours shredded if you wanted to make your own stuffing?
I think you would have to go old school with a pair of scissors!

thank u very much for the video great job. what did u put in the dummy's head?
It has the pool noodle with pex, surrounded by the shredded cloth. This is the "spine" pool noodle, which is one solid piece extending from the top of his head to the bottom of his foot.
@@efficiencyjiujitsu417bjj2 thank you for the video and info sir i gave it a thumbs up and i hit the red button. more power to your channel!
Itsthemuscledad 🤙🤙🤙👊👊👊
getting this dummy tommorrow and want it as realistic as possible. could you throw up triangle/ armbar submissions from guard on it?
Horatio Redgreenblue yes, but you will have to configure the knees differently than the way I did. If you cut the pex at the knees so it can kneel, you can throw on any subs from guard. I get the most use on the dummy doing kimura traps from top, but you will find your way. Good luck!
Hello sir how are you?
In amazon this dumy comes in 2 sizes 5ft and 6ft.
I am a 5'8 man wat should i buy?
I would go with the 6' dummy. The smaller one feels VERY small. I would only advise to get the smaller version for a kid, or if you were really tight on space.
Hello, what size pex elbows and rings did you use? Thanks
3/4"
Very nice. I wanna know though, did mummy watch this video and find out?
She never did!

Is there anyway to articulate the knees so it can either stand for throws or kneel for wrestling rides
wakeywakey I think on the next one I build, I will attach a flexible fitting in the knee. I am thinking a 4” piece of rubber hose, but I’m not sure yet...
@@efficiencyjiujitsu417bjj2 ok thx
what is the name of this blue material?
BFA BFA 3/4” pex
You said you were gonna weigh it...then you never mentioned the weight...
It's right around 35 lbs
@@efficiencyjiujitsu417bjj2 Thanks man
Where do you buy all these
The dummy came from Amazon. The pool noodles came from Dollar General. Everything else came from Lowes.
Can a robot sex doll be a live sparring match???
Yes it can. You can choke it then...
@@Delamthedestroyer just joking
@@MBryy me too.
Did you ever weigh it?
Its about 30 lbs
Boom
BOOM
How much did your dummy weigh in the end?
Around 40-45lbs
