      @@jaysterling26 Other ABX versions have worse maps where selected time zone is not well visible.
      A500 and AE1200 also have similar map but they are tinier.
      I also like this digital overlay. I'm sad about this feature is not available in new watches. (at least I don't know about any new watch releases)

    amazing memories of this watch! I've owned one back when I was 16 or 17 years old. My dad gave it to me and he bought it in 1998, I guess. What a nice and good watch! Sadly Casio doesn't do this kind of model anymore.

    Thanks for the tip about setting the calendar year back 28 years because my old Casio watch was preprogrammed with a calendar ending in 2008. I have an old Casio Data Bank watch with a calendar that's a superimposed overlay across the entire screen.

    I really like how seamless the LCD and analog face mesh here. I like Casio's current lineup of Wave Ceptors that mix analog and LCD quite a bit too but there's something to be said for how cleanly this one looks. The world time overlay is super cool too!

    Wow, definitely one of the best looking Casio watches. There is something about the color of the dial corresponding with the case color.

    I really like this one. The great thing about it is that design of the face is simplified and you get way more functionality. Don’t have to worry about cutouts in the face.

    I had even forgotten that there was such a watch. But what a great elegant idea of such a display of additional digital functions. I have no idea why this type of watch is no longer produced.

    Hi Greg Wow this is without doubt the best of the Casio vintage reviews you have done so far , and the watch looks almost new, wouldn't it be great if Casio re-released some of these vintage watches from the 80s/90s but I suppose we can only dream , thanks again stay safe.

    Awesome!!!! The TwinCept watches have always amazed me, and I am very happy I kept both of mine. I still have my first one of the ABX-20 and my 2nd one of the ABX-23. The ABX-23 is my favorite as not only is it the most accurate of all my quartz watches, but it also came with a nice Electro Luminescence backlight on it.

Any chance you will do a cleaning/opening/repair video on these, especially to hep those replacing the battery extra. Would be beneficial to all for sure. Thanks again. Looking forward to more fo these videos.

    Greg, have you ever tried to find/buy a Casio watch which was exclusive to Japan only and perhaps had Japanese text on it instead of predominantly English? I discovered that there are Casio models catered to some countries and markets. Found out there was a Casio watch which tells Muslims which direction Mecca is for prayer. Even has “prayer compass” text on it

    • @GoodTimekeeper
      @GoodTimekeeper  Před 3 lety

      I sometimes see that there are more color variations available in the Japanese market, like the different versions of the AWGM100. I haven’t found the ones quite so specialized as a Muslim prayer watch. It would be very interesting to find out more about those kinds of watches.

    Heh..at that time I kept watching these in local watch store and I wanted them, but I damaged my plastic body Casio DB34 with heavy backpack ripping the strap out of the body and since that accident there is no way I will buy some plastic body watch again :) And it is sad that these were not made with stainless body. So I ended up with EFA110D that also have digi+analog combination and databank for some text and numbers..
