What It's Really Like Inside Seattle's "Autonomous Zone"

- Coffee or Die’s Ethan E. Rocke traveled to Seattle to check out the protestor-controlled "autonomous zone." He was escorted out after it was made clear that journalists were not welcome, but fortunately he was still able to get plenty of coverage.
After more than a week of nationwide protests against police brutality in the wake of George Floyd’s death while in police custody, protestors took over Seattle Police Department’s East Precinct in the early morning hours of June 8 after police and National Guard soldiers were ordered to leave the area.
Tyr Symank is a member of the Washington National Guard unit that helped Seattle Police secure the East Precinct just hours before Mayor Jenny Durkan ordered police to remove barriers protecting the East Precinct to “defuse and de-escalate” the situation.
Seattle Police Chief Carmen Best said she was angered by the decision, calling it “an insult to our community.” Protestors have since established what they have deemed the “Capitol Hill Occupation Protest,” or CHOP - a roughly six-block area where no police are being allowed in.

The police chief has admitted that rape, assaults and theft are happening widespread and I suspect no one will ever be punished. Time to give everyone there a 24 hour warning and a complete military assault would finish this or arrest the entire Seattle government for allowing mass crime. Hold them financially and criminally responsible.

If they're worried about their message being distorted then the answer isn't to ban all video or audio recordings of their speeches. They should live stream everything happening in there so anyone can see what's happening. Let's be honest, if you don't like the protest you're not going to like it no matter what the video shows, ditto for people who support them.
They actually do have some live stream cameras set up around certain spots, all long distance though well, they are live, unless something goes down, they play repeats sometimes.

There are plenty of hardline conservatives who will comment on this video calling the people there terrorists and suggesting extreme measures to squash this thing. I think most of us are in between and just need good, accurate, unbiased reporting to formulate our own educated opinions on the matter.

These guys do create great content. While I agree they are being unbiased, it's a bit hard to show both sides of the story when one side refuses to allow independant media to capture content and tell their story. If they have nothing to hide and believe they are doing what is right, then they should embrace journalism and show the world how they are making change. Prohibiting rights creates suspicion. I agree with their cause and the need to change, I don't agree with the autonomous zone.

ive seen the demands of protesters across the US and one common one is always to defund the police, Now i live in the UK and the police in the uk due to economic issues have been defunded and so has other emergency services, and in my region most of the "police" you see are community officers which have no real power, knife and murder crime has gone up and most of the casualties of these crimes are young teens. Rape and robbery crime has increased and with the police so underfunded they can not respond to most robberies, and when they do respond there is almost nothing they can really do.
Defunding the police is a bad idea and will result in more crime, less training, less police, and more accidents because less police will mean the police that are left will be overworked and over stretched which will lead to them making mistakes, and more George floyds not less, and we live in a civilised world where if you dont like your political leaders you can vote for new ones, its a democracy where the government is based on the votes of the people.
Have you ever heard about Venezuela's "Peace Zones" ? Places where police is not allowed to enter, so criminals can go around freely...
