- The Palace Theater is transformed into the underwater wonderland of Bikini Bottom.
When SpongeBob SquarePants came to town, the Palace Theatre was transformed into the imaginative, immersive wonderland known as Bikini Bottom. Audiences owe a lot of that experience to Tony-nominated scenic and costume designer David Zinn, who took TheaterMania on a walking tour of his mammoth set, complete with boom boxes, Rube Goldberg contraptions, baby pools, and a whole lot of SpongeBob merchandise. Here's your chance to go backstage and get an up-close view of his handiwork. - Zábava
This set did the absolute MOST, it’s so rare that shows utilize all of the theatre to create atmosphere. This show is an amazing example of a set that transports you into the world onstage 👏
Even if you don’t like the show, you have to admit the set is beautiful and amazing.
Well, as sad as it is as that this show got won one award, at least they the amazingly creative set design got recognized!
