  • Today we stare down some of the toughest summer walleye conditions...flat calm, hot, high skies....What do you do to get bit on these days? This video is all about how I fish when the fish do not want to bite. Summer walleye fishing can be challenging even in good conditions. When the fish are scattered and don't want to bite it can become very difficult. In this video I talk about what these conditions do to summer walleyes and how I catch them during a tough bite. Thanks for watching!

Thought for a Tom Talk - We can send you screen shots of graphs or lakemaster maps and you pick some and tell us what you see and how you would approach it. Thanks much

Wow man can I go fishing with you? You have made me such a better walleye fisher I live in Arkansas so the walleye are few and far between but! Since I started to watch your videos I have landed and stayed consistent throughout this entire fishing season. Thank you for the advice you have made a walleye fishing fool out of me! After all that I cooked one of them OMG best fish ever to eat, hands down.

Tom, thanks for the pointers. Was calm as could be this morning on my local lake. Came across some walleye on the bottom, hit spot lock and went to jigging a snap jig. Wammo! Got five out of the school using your technique!

Thanks for all this sharing of techniques. I happened upon you a month ago and have watched ton of you vids. I am heading to Hayward next week and will be putting some of your tips in action. I am a long time lindy rig guy but with new electronics and new little techniques, I am hoping for more success if that method is called for. You are a great teacher and the videos are informative, fun and really laid back. You are my new fishing idol. Thanks man.

Hey Tom just watched an old video of you going over weather and walleye and you talked about casting spinner rigs. Any chance you were ever going to make a video on that?

All my best walleye 28 and 30 inch I caught at similar type of day. Super hot, no wind and about 3pm. I'm usually sitting on a hump one side about 24ft deep and other side is about 8ft. I usually fish with leeches and on average pulling 16 to 30 inch walleye and 4 to 5lb bass from same spot. Has good rock structure where I fish
