7:05 the torque spec for the fill bolt is 11.1 ftlb and it is stated in the publicly available service manual online. As well as additional steps to this procedure not shown in this video.

Thanks for the video. My 2020 Tesla Model 3 has 160K miles on it. Thinking about doing this service. How many miles your Tesla has? How much was the oil filter?

Amazon aftermarket is like below 30 bucks, i havent check to see if there are other types of filter that would be same size yet, ebay has oem ones for around almost the same price.

As a 2020 Tesla M3P owner, I'm a little confused. Does the drive unit oil need/should be changed? The Tesla owners manual does not state this needs/should be changed but I want the most longevity of my drive units. Should this be changed? There's multiple videos online about changing the drive unit oil and filter but they do not state when and why it needs to be changed.

A lot of the tesla owners don't see over 100k, maybe why they dont say anything about it, but this is a simple good way to keep your drive motors last a bit longer.

Tesla doesn’t want anyone to maintain their cars until 100k warranty has passed 😅 be smart and change atf fluid asap, every 40k to 50k.
I’ll change atf fluid ATF 9 on my 22” model y, 50,560 mi next week.

Thanks for the video! Is this the new fluid recommended as changed recently?

@gerbertmorataya9636 i used something cost effective that is compatible, but when in doubt use pentosin 9, but the synthetic i used is compatible so far so good :)

@@car-loyeah, it’s compatibility for ZF 9 speed type. If Tesla finds out you are using a different ATF, may void your warranty. I’d use Pent 9 fluid to keep you safe from getting voided.

When does the Tesla drive oil need to be changed? 30k miles?

As stated on Tesla's website: "Tesla vehicles require no traditional oil changes, fuel system maintenance, spark plug replacements or emission checks". Technically, you dont need to change the oil in the drive unit. Anything that has to do with the drive unit and its oil, will be covered under its 8 year guarentee. On top of that, if tesla finds out you swapped the oil yourself and did not use Tesla approved oil, you could void your DU warrenty.

@sebastianocarreiro8061 😂 life time coolant and oils are scam. If you change car before warranty no one care about maintenance. Let other take that shit.
