From cheesecake to wasabi to purple sweet potato, the crispy wafer bar is available in more than 400 varieties, according to Yuji Takeuchi, marketing manager for Nestlé Japan. And it’s up to Yasumasa Takagi to keep the fresh flavors coming. The classically-trained pastry chef has added over 50 to the Kit Kat canon so far. Takagi invites us into his kitchen in Tokyo to see how he creates yummy new flavor profiles for customers who are always hungry for more.

Their raspberry kit kats are so good! There is nothing fake about them at all in the taste, it looks like a raspberry concentrate had been put in between the layers of wafer. It's got a very nice tartness to it and isn't too sweet, so I definitely recommend people should try it.

Different cultures and marketing. Japanese are more keen and willing to try new products, they even okay to pay a higher price for it. So companies had to keep coming up with new ideas, packaging, flavors etc.
And demands of the market. In my country we only had original kitkat and few years ago we finally have strawberry and macha.
Basically U.S is not a risk taker 😒

Those Kit Kats are HEAVENLY. My faves are rhum raisin, cheesecake, sakura, intense green tea

Regional stuff by prefecture is something deeply baked into Japanese food culture. Every town practically has some food item its famous for, this methodology is a serious thing there. Meanwhile, in America, we don't even get quality chocolate to begin with, Americans have no taste so the chocolate is full of shitty carnuba wax here. Get a Snickers in the US and get one in Japan or Europe. The one outside US will actually taste like chocolate. Americans, we get the worst of everything, because most of us have no taste as a culture
Well at least you guys have like a billion types and flavors of gum and candy, although not the best chocolate, I guess every country has some variety in some thing and less quality in other , like for example you guys have great movies and money to make them in Hollywood, wich is great, but your traditional food is just fast food lol, wich is good and bad ,while here in Brazil we don’t have much money for movies but we have a huge variety of food
US has the worst tasting candies and chocolates. God knows why since they love sugar.
A year ago when I was in Singapore I had a rose flavoured kitkat. Tasted amazing.
I probably tried just over a dozen types of Japanese Kit Kats and I must say that the ceremonial Matcha flavor and the Passion fruit are my fav.
That damn tranparent chocolate making mask though....
I wish we had some of these flavors in the USA. I want to try some of those flavors. It's not fair that they, kit-kats, sell flavors in the UK & in China.
I think they have a grudge against us..... Let us, USA, try some of those wonderful flavors, please!
