This is a great idea. I actually called the company that sells these to ask if they had larger diameter screws to use and they were quite surprised that this was being done. I tried to tell the CSR @cortex that they should consider marketing their product for this use and she didn't want to hear it. She told me they could barely keep up with what they were doing right now. I was surprised to say the least. Anyway, I love your method here and would use it if I didn't already have shutters predrilled with plastic anchor holes drilled in them. Thanks for the great idea.
