  • I Introduce Metal detecting to a man named Ben in a town that used to be known in the early 1800’s as Rougues Hallow
Located on the Napanee River, the small village yearned for respect and a title of good repute, something that ran a little short.
Rogues’ Hollow, it was called. The name was apparently an apt description of the high-spirited hamlet. Visions come to mind of scalawags and hard-living men seated at rough-hewn wooden tables in smoky, lamp-lit taverns. Sloshing tankards of beer, they may have sung loud, bawdy tunes and told riotous jokes. Tucking bank notes into bosoms of rumpled dresses, barmaids may have served the libations ... and swigged back a few drinks themselves. No doubt, brawls tumbled out onto the dusty streets and drunks were slumped on the roadside.
