  • My trike has reached its first [nautical] milestone and is due for its 25 hour service. We will see what needs to be done to achieve Rotax 912ULS airworthiness again, and stress that it is important to follow the manufacturers recommendations at all times.
    The most important thing to note is - even if it is brand new, I once learned a long time ago that it doesn't mean [Aussie slang ON] 'She'll be right mate' [/Aussie Slang off]. YES - I found a potentially catastrophic issue.
    Check out the video to see tips, tricks and pointers to assist you with your next service. Maybe you will just enjoy the aussie accent and the technical video itself - or of course my good looks, rolling around on the floor in the dust and dirt under an aircraft.

    Very good.Love that trike.One thing,at 1 minute 10 you say oil pressure sender.I believe that's the oil temp sender.

      Eddie - missed that and thanks! Don't you hate it when that happens. I obviously said Oil Pressure instead of Temperature - and for those that don't know, the oil pressure sender is screwed into the oil pump on the opposite side to the oil temperature sender.

    What you have shown as the oil pressure sensor is actually the oil temperature sensor.

      OK thanks, always learning. Yes the oil pressure sender is on the side of the oil pump. I know that now 😬

    Excellent presentation! I will be purchasing a Light Sport Aircraft (US) with a 912 engine later in the year and found this a very informative video that I will refer to frequently. One question though, in the photo of the engine mounts (5:56 mark), appears that the left and right suspension rubber pads are installed in two different ways. Intentional, or am I just hallucinating? Thanks, and looking forward to watching more videos!

    Great video Stewart, what are you using for wing cover, wheel pants covers, and pod cover?

    • @CrayonboxAviationAdventures
      @CrayonboxAviationAdventures  Před 6 lety

      Hi Fred. The wing & spat covers I made myself. Wing is a light weed mat type material, the wheel pants are a modified quilt bed cover which is nicely padded. The pod cover came from P&M with trike and is genuine, and would be rather complicated to make!
