Passchendaele - The Map With The Best Atmosphere In The Battlefield Franchise?

- Passchendaele in my opinion, has the best atmosphere to date, of all of the Battlefield maps I have played and it's also easily among the most beautiful - although in an apocalyptic, haunting sort of way. However it's design, environmental & weather effects are nothing short of stunning. My only regret is that it never got a proper Operations mode - which is my favorite one to play.
I created this montage out of a number of Conquest matches that I've spectated and later edited them together in order to create an immersive viewing experience that attempts to capture & showcase the beauty & atmosphere of this map that I enjoy so much.

Everything about this game exudes the passion that went into it. From the graphics to the soundtrack to the audio to atmosphere. An unbelievable achievement.
Completely agree, it's still my favorite Battlefield game.
It's a genuine crime that this map isn't featured in an operation campaign, same with nivelle nights. I cherish playing those maps when they rarely appear
Like seriously bro, at least stitch together nivelle nights and praise de tahure into an operation campaign, like they are literally next to each other, you can see praise from nivelle nights.
It really didn't make much sense but I guess they didn't want another french centric map. It came out for the dlc and gradually became the only dlc-free maps on the base game

Personally, that map captured perfectly that image I had in my mind of what a WWI map should look like in Battlefield. Really wish it would have gotten more attention.

Playing this map with realistic historical uniforms and weapons mods is one of the greatest experiences known to gaming (and historical immersion) ever

I visited Ypres on June 2023 (my first time in Europe, I'm Argentinean). My CouchSurfing host lent me his bike to go visit the battlefields, museum, cemeteries, etc. I didn't make it all the way to Passchendale, due to time constraints, but that's OK; I saw plenty (a man can only visit so many cemeteries in just one day) and got a good look at the Road to Passchendaele. It was a beautiful sunny day, crazy to think that that whole area once looked like this. Even crazier to think that I was looking at stretches of beautiful fields that were most certainly littered with buried bodies, as more than 42,000 were never recovered.
About 3 days later, I was doing the same in Verdun.
Fantastic work. My favorite conquest map along with Achi Baba.
Thank you! Yeah, I usually play Operations, but if I'm going for Conquest, Passchendaele is certainly on the playlist.
I wish people played apocalypse maps on ps4, never see them apart from the occasional river somme.

Man Battlefield 1 is amazing

God, what a phenomenal video. This is the one I turn to whenever I try to explain to people why I love this game's atmosphere. You did such a wonderful job capturing the whole vibe of not only the map, but the war in general. Thank you for helping to keep the appreciation for this game alive and well

Best game of the franchise.
While I do prefer the gunplay of other Battlefield games, Battlefield 1 is my favorite simply because of it's immersion - which is the main reason I play Battlefield games to begin with.
And one of worst in gameplay but music and atmosphere unmatched

@@nathananchors684 Yeah, would be amazing to spectate Breakthrough matches in 2042. But it was hinted that shockingly enough, there won't be a spectator mode on launch - although, it was said before the delay, so fingers crossed, I suppose!

This is the only map in any other ww1 game that perfectly describes how horrible WW1 truly was
