Hello neighbor! I live in Pittsburg. Never saw a gopher until I moved to Texas. We've killed 31 so far on our one acre. I just bought a Gopher Hawk and really like it. Up to this point I've been using the Victor trap with great success but I make a bigger mess of the yard digging and looking for tunnels than the gopher does.I didn't mind doing this before the contractor comes to grade and seed our lot but I knew I needed an easier and neater way to get rid of the gophers. One tip I saw on using the Gopher Hawk is before putting the trap into the hole you made with the wedge, determine where the 3 metal straps of the trap are and place it in the hole so that one of the straps is not directly in front of the tunnel.
I bought 3 of these and caught 4 moles in 4 days. Placement is the key then leave it alone. If you haven't caught one in 3 days you need to move it. The war has begun and I'm winning.
A gallon of water in a bucket will also “dispatch” the varmint. (If you drown it, you can throw it into the woods and feed it to wildlife without feeding wildlife pellets.) I know you wanted to keep your dog from getting the carcass, but if you can put the carcass, outside the fence, back in a mole hole, the decaying varmint will chase other varmints out of the yard.
Hi Brave girl, if you leave it be for a day, will he die? so you don't have to see the gross. Good thing that you teach us how to get it out if you can't pull it out, which is my concern.
M-150s in the hole; THEN, mixture of Ammonia & Chlorine (bon't breath); THEN, trickle water down hole, while dripping gasoline in stream, allow to settle about 10 minutes, then light (BOOM sounds in the chambers), until all have exploded; THEN, drop a road flare in the hole and cover up.
I would like to try this, but my concern is that I will push the trap to the bottom of the tunnel and do nothing more than block the tunnel. How do you avoid that?
The device comes with a metal prod to find the best place to put the GopherHawk. The device also comes with a wand to compact the dirt to place the trap in. Finally you put the trap in the hole and pull up to set the trap. Watch some videos by Shawn Woods and you'll see the process.
@@chrisfarley6662 , my first one did that and I returned it. Got a replacement it kinda bent and a new hole popped up the next day. Just sent the second one back and will call the pro out to end it
I ordered one, but I saw another Gopher Hawk vid first. Good grief--be a humane lady! This lady should take the beast out and kill it WITHOUT letting it suffer.

You have to be INCREDIBLY lucky to find the pocket they're in. I've had 5 of these in the yard for 2 weeks. Nothing.

I put burn the dead gopher then put in back in the hole, next one comes sees and smells the dead rat will be scared and run away
