    • @sindrisuncatcher653
      @sindrisuncatcher653 Před 6 měsíci +2

      Asus claims 10.5 hours running both screens, 13.5 on just one, but I haven't seen anybody doing real stress tests yet so take that with a grain of salt. Real world loads almost always spend more electricity than the tests they do for marketing, and they probably had the brightness setting pretty low for those. But it'll probably be respectable.

    I am hoping the Duo will help maintain grandchildren's focus on schoolwork. The duo screen should work great for viewing math problems on one screen and solving them on second screen. Also, answering questions on top screen while having bottom screen open to open to the lesson.

    OMGOMGOMG 🤩 Asus has now come up with their answer to the Lenovo Yoga Book 9i 😁👍, I am soooo looking forward to this Karl 😍. I'm a Project Manager and God knows there aren't enough screens in front of us to help us manage meetings, chats and deliverables😅, so a dual screen laptop is a God-send spesh when we have to be onsite / in transit. Thanks for linking us the Asus site, I'm pouring over the Tech Specs now.
    btw, can you give us your initial feedback on this dual screen Asus versus the Lenovo version? I'm keen on your perspective spesh you now handled both and I'd like to hear your pros/ cons in both (even if just an overview since the Asus version is still pre-Prod)

    This is the idea for those of us that sketch and draw. One could do the paint program on one screen and the reference and or video software on the other to record the process. Far better than a single screen tablet (like iPad) or 2-in-1 like the Surface Pro. However, I understand that the pen capability on this laptop is not as good as the Apple Pencil or Surface Pen and would have to be for me to go there.

    Great video and review! I just have one question: Is there some type of mechanism in place that will prevent the keyboard from scratching the surface of the bottom screen, especially since one might constantly remove and put back the keyboard. Thanks!

    • @sindrisuncatcher653
      @sindrisuncatcher653 Před 6 měsíci

      I'm pretty sure the screens are both gorilla glass, so scratching them up would take some doing and *should* be impossible with the underside of the keyboard alone. That said, be careful not to get any sand or quartz crystals caught between the keyboard and the lower screen.

      Hi,
      If you still need to know then i have this laptop and ARC is borrowing memory from actual ram. It can get up to 8gb and you can either allocated as much as you want permanently yourself or set it to Auto. I have it set to 8GB permanent and can confirm that out of 32gb i had system now recognizes only 24. I would suggest going for 32gb ram version as i can't imagine getting 16gb and being left with 8gb for example.

  • @tommyflavio
    @tommyflavio Před 5 měsíci

    I genuinely want one... Was looking for a tablet PC with a Thunderbolt + Ultra processor, and this basically doubled up my desire!
    Any idea if you can bend it beyond 180 degrees while in sharing mode so while it's standing up on the table for both you and the people you are presenting to?
    Anyone know if it has a webcam? It would be sick if laptops did what the redmagic phone did and hide the webcam BEHIND the display for a bezel-less clean look ..
    I think I'm absolutely sold on this. I see Lenovo has one but this seems to be a better price point and has the pen which I could use.

      Hi. Yes you can carry it without keyboard but there is a small void between screens. I am not sure if this can damage screens if something presses too hard in your backpack. In some other reviews they show how it looks when you close it without keyboard

    • @feklee
      @feklee Před měsícem

      @@Lukas-go2wv I had a look at it in a shop. It's quite bulky and fragile in the end, and I miss the option to flip it over to use it as a tablet. I prefer the form factor of the YogaBook 9i, but that doesn't take an M.2 2280, and I need at least 4TB of SSD space. Guess I'll wait for Lunar Lake devices. Hopefully there will be a new nice Windows tablet.

    Some feedback about the audio of this video: the intro soundtrack was a bit louder than the voice recordings such that if your hands are messy while cooking/ eating then it's difficult to fiddle with the volume controls in such a short time. There were another 1-2 instances as well where the volume was a bit low in between.
    Also for 2024, why don't you try to do something new like review the retail versions of these CES products for about a week to give concrete impressions for better purchase decisions especially on your way of using them? You may do it as a poll to see what your viewers want as well. Do it like a random tech product once in a month and summarize your experience at the end of 2024.
    Good luck with a million subscribers and hope to see you there and beyond soon!

    Is the detachable keyboard backlight illuminated?
    ps: I think the sharing mode (clone) is not usable. You would be looking both at the reflection of the ceiling lights...a tent mode would have been much better and have a smaller footprint on the table, plus it would be able to evacuate heat easely.

    • @sindrisuncatcher653
      @sindrisuncatcher653 Před 6 měsíci

      A hinge that goes more than 180 degrees adds mechanical and electronic complexity, which makes it more expensive to build and probably reduces the lifespan of the device. Something like the yogabook 9i does work exactly like you describe, but it costs about $500 more than the duo for a slightly less powerful machine. I think the devs looked at the value of tent mode and tablet mode, and made a conscious decision that reducing the price (and possibly increasing durability, though we obviously dont have any data on what these look like 5-10 years later) was worth the tradeoff.

    • @sebkeccu4546
      @sebkeccu4546 Před 6 měsíci

      @@sindrisuncatcher653 that is the story of asus. However I've had tent mode laptops for years now (spectre x360)(I had 1 every two years since 2018: 3 generations). They are at the same price, same weight, and the hinges never had a problem. Lenovo yoga's same thing lightweight,not expensive and no hinge problems (I searched the internet forums). Concerning your price argument of the Lenovo : it was expensive because it had no competition and it had a lot of external accessories that cost money. The tent mode has 3 advantages in my opinion: able to really sharing mode, protection against vent suffocation when using on a bed or coach, and able to order the laptop as a tablet (360 degrees mode). It certainly is possible for a low price and weight.
