My old car, the Fabia 1.4 PD, is from 2003, originally had 75Bhp/200NM. I chipped that car after 20.000KM, now it has 220.000 KM, and runs perfectly, never had any problem with it. Turbo clutch, and PD parts all original. Its still a great fun to drive, because the 3 pot engine has a unique charackert, its slower than the 1.9PD, but the power kicks in more dramatically, which puts a big smile on your face:)

    I have a 2008 1.9 TDI Roomster, I reached 250k this week.
Guys, what is your fuel consumption on this car?

The engine is electronically limited at 4800 RPM, so u cant harm it. It was a test for max acceleratin, and not everyday driving style of course. Redline begins already at 4500 RPM - only for long term safety reasons.
These engines are very strong and reliable. My Fabia 1.4 TDI tuned around 110 HP has already 200.000 KM, and I drive it often around 180 KM/h, at this speed RPM is over 4700 (much shorter gearing then 1.9 TDI), and the engine is still fine..

It's nothing special, but a stage1 good base remap, for the 1.9 TDI engine. Everything is stock, only remapping the software of the engine was done. It was done by my independent Skoda service, but I think a general good remap gives the same performance. It was never measured, but I think engine power is close to 150 Bhp, torque is around 320 Nm.

So, since the remap I did 60.000 KM with the car, absolutely no problem. As I told u its a normal stage 1 remap, done by the OBD port, a lot of company an do this in your local place too, just google it (1.9 PD TDI remap or 1.4 PD TDI remap) . The car has now 150.000 KM, and it runs like a brand new, just a bit faster:)

Originally, there was the 75 Bhp version. Then VAG made 2 version, one was 70Bhp, the stronger did 80Bhp. Your version has a slightly smaller turbo. In my opinion u should chip it, because in its original form, its too weak for the bigger Roomster chassis.
U can chip this engine to around 95Bhp/240-250NM, and it will transfer your car 2 categories up, its really worth to do it!

Well i thought to chip it, just wanted to check how it goes after chip... Thank you man, I think I'm gonna chip it :))

Since the remap I did 15.000 KM with no problem, often driving around 180-190 km/h, max speed is 210 km/h - downhill. Performance wise is very funny, on the motorway, accelerating from 100 to 180 I can keep up with Octavia2 RS TDI, or even with Audi TT diesels. The general 2.0 TDI 140 BHp bigger cars, like Passat, Mondeos are slower.

My Roomster is 140bhp 318nm but will go to 220kph before bouncing off the limiter. They need a 6 speed box really? Its a U.K spec 1.9tdi level 3 and I love the bloody thing. I think they're cool.

Hey man, i got the same Roomster but with 1.4 TDI PD engine with 70 hp... Can you tell me what you did to your Fabia that has now 110 hp? Cheers :)

Hi, can you give me some examples about your fuel consumption on this car? Thanks!

  • @Gianniz27

In that case your car should be well over 150bhp, in my opinion, or the tyre size is not factory standard. (speedo gives incorrect data). My one can do 210kph max, but the main force that stops it, is the wind/air. (160cm height of the car). Mostly Fabias can do 220 kph easily with the same power, but with better aero. (less cw) I don't think it needs a 6 speed gearbox, I prefer less shifting.

Only avoid all form of tuning boxes, because they are crap or, expensive, and will never give the same result, like a good ECU Software reamap, through the OBD connection. So do the second option, but not u, take it to a proper company. For me it costed 300 Euros, but in some countries its a bit more expensive.
