Without that run that sliced through the midfield and the epic passing, Messi wouldn’t have had it on a silver platter for him to knock it in. Great shot, and Messi and IS fucking brilliant, but the goal scorer is often praised at the expense of the teammates responsible for the buildup play.
Jesse James Atencio ok let me just say what good is foreplay without the climax.......lol......I love and appreciate the buildup, and every pass was perfect, this why Ronaldo was crying saying foul , why didn’t you foul, you don’t let a momentum play like that continue.......but you said “ served on a platter” .......it only looks that way because its Messi......any other player would of messed up, over hitting it or bad technique on the strike.
If you notice the placement.....you know it was pure brilliant technique.
So again without that spectacular finish , it would of been a great disappointment......

To be honest, I love this piece of commentary for the same reason. Beckham is the most reliable person in that situation, but tensions were high. This guy was speechless when he scored the goal, so no screams actually helped there. Really subtle.
