My dad bought me a 98 blaster when they first released the 98s. I didn’t like it when I was a kid, so I only rode it a couple times. It’s been sitting for the most part for 21 years now, still looks like it did the day we bought it. I start it up every once in a while and drive it around the yard and put it back. At this point I’m just not riding it because it’s probably one of the only 98 blasters that are 100% original stock parts in such good condition. I have a 2004 blaster also, I ride the shit out of it though.
I think one of the best mods you can do is buy ASR +3 long travel a-arms and run some nice trx450r or 400ex shocks, then hydraulic brakes (if your blaster is older than 03)
Ok lets so a little more info on what's needed with what. When you change the pipe the main jet also needs changed or you'll trash a piston and cylinder by going lean. A bushing kit is needed for the 400ex/trx450r rear shock, tors has nothing to do with the oiling system. The stock oiling system works just fine when maintained, fender cutting is mainly for racing motocross, also if you delete the oiling kit on the blaster you also need to go up in jet size
I bought my blaster used from a buddy of mine and the only thing not stock on it is the air filter and the wheels & brakes. He put Rapter wheels and brakes on it because he said the stock brakes are trash
$200 for a Toomey B1 pipe kit kit not just pipe you're looking at about $500 worth it highly worth it better than FMF comes with a jet kit 310 main jet
Doesn't work like that I'm afraid as some people might just want a two stroke? No matter what bike or quad I buy I always modify them. Modifying a raptor is alot more expensive than modifying a blaster.... And in the UK atleast blasters can be had for 2k . Even the older 660 go for 4500. That's alot of mod money
Only thing i'd say about this is dont cut your fenders. #1 Your gonna have so much mud coming up from the front tires that you wont be able to see. #2 Its not worth ruining a set of plastics just for looks. Keep them stock. They are fenders for a reason
Made this video a few years ago and prices definitely have jumped however. FB marketplace I’ve seen some good deals. Try and get something under 4-500$
@@Offroadaddicts Yeah I thought about it afterwards. Like a lot of things in the world, they have gone up in price. I paid €580 last week for a full FMF system (Ireland)
You had a lot of good things there to do to the blaster but cutting The fenders is useless and you forgot to mention get rid of that junk 26 mm carburetor on there put a 30 mm On there port and polish the jug is one of the first things to do and always by the trinity stage for right side bend pipe for blaster it's the best

WarFighter Xodus thats what i did
Do the honda shocks line right up ?
Idk I'd swap banshee shocks onto a blaster as it's a direct swap and banshee shocks are softer rebound
Fuck you made mine sound ancient when you said if it’s older than and 03 , mines an 89 for Christ sake
@@EvanOdegaard the 1st gen body is way better looking imo 2nd gen looks soft

What size jet? I just bought one and the previous owner removed it but didnt even cap off the carb nipple. Im doubting they went up in a jet
@@MrBeefsnorkel I'm running a 02 Blaster with Full FMF, TORS delete, V-Force 4 reeds, and K&N air filter no lid with a 260 main jet.

Good Video guys keep up the good work and info.
Thanks! Will do!
Port and polish gave me the most bang for my buck.
I can pic one of these running for 800.. it needs front fenders and some love. Is that a fair price?
Bought it. Love it.
If I remove my Tors can I still use my idle screw or will that not work anymore
Will still work.
A full Toomey Exhaust is way more than 200$
i bought my used one for 200$
Brian Fuhrmaneck 420$😂
Nice vid
What’s the advantage of putting a 400ex shock in the rear? Not saying it’s pointless, I’m just curious.
Keepn It Low works great huge improvement over stock
I've had a smoother ride. Adjustable. Bigger shock. More spring and it has a reservoir
also block off oil pump, get your cylinder ported, VForce reeds..
I have boysen
Vforce is better
That's my beast with the Alba a-arms and Works shocks. You have my permission to use lol
Looks like shit

Prices have definitely jumped but you can find deals . Gotta be patient
How did the axel swap go. I tried it but sprocket has play
Mine fit on with no play, takes a little time but it was a direct fit
@@Offroadaddicts 03+ is a direct fit. 88-02 need the banshee brake rotor to work correctly.
silentsoul86 what year banshee axle is a direct fit for a 2003 blaster?
Best Blaster mod= Banshee...
Best Banshee mod Raptor
so true on the blaster mod lol, only like mine cause it’s super cheap to rebuild completely, and as for my banshee like a ass sold it 😭😭😭😭😭
except for when your 13-14 years old and dont got money
What would you say added the most power
BlueGrass Adventures either Toomey pipe or cut fenders not sure

And what oil does the blaster use like is uses fuel and what kind of oil i needs
two stroke transmission oil in two-stroke oil search it up in there will be forms online
Check out my other video on best oil to use
Lucas 2 stroke oil or yamalube
@@Offroadaddicts i found a blaster it runs needs new paint
4 wheels
All the prices have double and tripled
We’re do u find this pipe
Offer up, Facebook marketplace, or eBay. You can also buy it on toomey racing website
Why does everyone eliminate the oil injection?? I have an 01 Blaster and the injection works perfectly!!
Joseph B they tend to go out after a while, if they go out catastrophic engine failure, I’ve seen it happen before that’s why I did it to mine
I am on my 3rd blaster always used the oil injection with no issues.
Makes way more power with it deleted its not just cramming in excess oil its now burning just what it needs and u can feel the difference its free hp.
Add up the cost on all those mods. Better off getting a 400ex or a raptor. Or something faster to begin with
