My local mgp chapter has dabbled in running mixed heats with dji and analog. While it seams very doable Any time someone on analog has video issues they blame the dji people. So we kinda shelved the idea for now.
@@TweetFPV Bummer, we had alot of that tooo. Make sure you sit 15' away from analog, we leave a 'spacer channel' open (ie. DJI on R1 & R2 (R3 open) Analog on R4-R8) but recently we discovered that we can actually put a sharkbyte pilot on that 'spacer channel' without issues, it's Gr8

In the time since this video, the Cosmo Streamer product has gone through a lot more development, and now has a license fee. The fee's are pretty low given how powerful it's gotten, and the V1/V2 goggles version is cheaper then the R-Pi you put it on.
Outputs now include RTSP, UDP and NDI, amongst others.
I use the pi4 with the official 7“ screen and housing connected via internal DSI. It’s basically no tearing, clean image. Sure it’s a bit bigger but still fits into the backpack
I think the dsi connector is a better way to do with this.
Do you get the HDMI output at the same time? I have the 7" screen and a spare R-Pi4, looking to hook up a handheld Osmo gimbal and give the operator a screen, while using the other outputs, HDMI and RTSP, at the same time.
@@TweetFPV That 3" screen, the 60fps is a lie, it's about 12fps via the GPIO port.

The only reason I keep an analog quad around is so I can give somebody my extra set of goggles and come along for the ride. But digital is all by myself

Hey Cosmo Streamer 😊 which Firmware do you have on your goggles? I am trying to make it work with my DJI FPV goggles v2, the DJI FPV drone and Raspberry Pi 4 B...but without success so far... 😅
There's a raspberry pi 4 desktop that has an 8 inch screen. Not sure of any of the specs though. Awesome video!
Most small screens for rpi do not have a high refresh rate. Some of the bigger screens do. I have not played with rpi screens enough to offer which are faster than others. Usually hook mine up to monitors and tvs for video game play. On my CNC, I had a small screen over the mini hdmi, and the plotter was terribly slow. Moved to a 7inch and it worked fine.
I figured a monitor connected to hdmi would be better.

Hate DJI for not warning their FPV customers that watching on a second set of DJI goggles is not possible. How can something like this happen ? It´s the most basic need once you fly their drone (that I really like in spite of the minimal flight time). Obviously if you are a rocket scientist like TweetFPV you can find a way around this problem but for the regular "aficionado" this design fault is a tragic one. A nightmare really.

Please do a latency demonstration because nobody else will. Show the quad on screen, and the main viewing screen, and move the quad every now and then so I can see just how long it takes from the quad moving to it showing up on screen. I mean, I can play with a countdown timer and see what 70ms is like in real life, SORTOF...
Everybody who demos all these fpvout setups is very evasive about the latency. I've only seen one demo and the guy was running the app on his killer Ryzen beast.. which is not what you're going to have in the field.
This literally is the only chance I have to fly using all my DJI equipment.. an AxisFlying box or this.... the Goggles themselves area total fail for me.

Hey friend, I saw your video, it looks great! I wanted to ask I have an UpBord which is slightly better than a Pi is there a way to select an appropriate BOOT so that it starts running it doesn't see it in a memory card .. is there a chance it only works on a Pi?
I am unsure. I'd contact the developers of the software.
Is it necessary to have a license that they sell on the site? What does he bring us?
When I built mine there was no license required. Looking through the change logs it looks like they now want to get paid for thier work.

Really, what this needs to so for most people, I imagine, is broadcast an analog fpv view, so anyone standing around with analog goggles can what your DJI feed. And you yourself could fly with a digital link but locally be videwing it on your analog goggles static free.
Why DJI didn't design it that way from the get go... is a major phvcking fail imho. It's how I would of done it. An air unit on one end, and just a receiver black box on the other with an HDMI out to connect any monitor to and fpv Analog "re-transmitter" that cold be viewed by any analog goggles. That's literally how I would of designed it.
If I could see, I would totally do it using off the self wifi router mimo chipsets... because the hardware is probably pretty generic, all you have to do is write the glue software to selectively crunch the video and shoot out changes on the picture out as fast as possible. no need to shoot out pixels that haven't changed, and pixels that have just shoot out the amount of changed from the last, not a whole byte. Every frame shoot out one moving line of absolute pixel values, so no matter what in 720 frames a whole reset the screen would occur should things get out of whack from lost signal or lost packets or noise.
That idea also works for recording the WFTOSD overlay. We can overlay the WTFOSD in the goggles, and that is great for first person, but we can't record the OSD. With an analog 2nd camera, we can get the HD flying experience, and still have the OSD saved, with GPS, in case of a failsafe.

That's cool but is it battery operated? If I'm in the field I'm not going to be around an outlet or can it run off a pack?
You can run it off of a power bank or you can make a battery pack for it.

What's that white cover in your goggles?
Looks like a directional antenna. (Crystal Sky*, maybe) I'm guessing, from looking at the video, that he's got two omnidirectional stubby antennas, one for one of the Rx and one for one of the Tx. Then, the white thing is connected to an Rx & a Tx, it would be giving more penetration, in the direction that he's facing.

Yes the 3b and the 4 have hdmi and are what is used with this project. The pi4 and 3 are hard to find and if you can they are being sold at scalper prices.

I haven't but I've heard from some other people that it does work on the V2 but I can't confirm myself
