- Over 10 tips and tricks that the Teal Mask didn't advertise or tell you before picking up the DLC for Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This does not have any story spoilers and a lot of these features and/or tips just need the 2.0.1 update! @@breejordon6042 The first Corpish I caught in Kitakami (one of my favorite Pokemon btw) came with the Peeved Mark which gives her the title of Corpish the Grumpy, and I think that’s beautiful.
Another unknown thing about the Chair Maker guy is that he will give you a set of Herba Mystica if you have all 19 tablecloths purchased. He gives you two of each kind. The 19th tablecloth requires you to beat the Olive Rolling game in Cortando in under 4 minutes.
Chair Guy also gives you 10 Herba Mystica if you get EVERY Chair Set

It feels like they went, “Oh, the Itemfinder Mark was broken? Go Kitakami and go nuts,” with the amount of items all over the place 😂
and yet half of the sparkling spots don't even register
I'm fairly certain the regions of Kitakami being so small is the main reason for it. Each region probably has a similar item count to the much larger regions in Paldea, but all those items are occupying a smaller space.

I thought it was just in my head, I guess not! It’s almost stressful how many items I have to go and pick up, I sometimes get distracted and just keep picking them up everywhere
They added icons for the team star bases! I guess it’s helpful for those who would rebattle them

Idk if anyone commented this already but beating that mochi game on the hardest level does give you a shiny munchlax and for those who like taking selfies with their pokemon, there is now a feature where you press down either the right or left joy stick (i forgot exactly which one) your pokemon would stay still and in place. Along with that picture thing they added music to the camera where your pokemon would have different expressions for the pictures reacting to the music

You press the left L joystick. There will be an ! from the mon as it will stay still on the spot.
The Pokémon expression to the music is really cute. And very handy for selfies. I haven't tried doing that during picnic though. I wonder if every mon will react to the music. Because random NPCs CAN react to the music, someone said. Haven't tested that too. Too busy shiny hunting... 😅
UPDATE:
I have just tested and...
You can switch hand using Roto-stick by pressing L or R. That gives you different angles.
And if you selfie during a picnic, every mon on your party will react to the music change!!! So, if you want to see everyone smiling happy, you CAN now. Such a joyous update. 🤩
11:50 the Man of the chairs also gives you 2 of each herba if you make all the chairs
Allso they fixed the encounters for variat forms like tatsugiri colors, rockruff( the one that can evolve to dusk form), sinistea/polchageist Mark and other more
Lmao the fact that you can harass the shopkeeper about taking your cryptocurrency is kinda hilarious
I know we've had a lot more trainer customization in previous games and I agree it sucks how little choice we get, but even if they just let us mix and match the different "seasons" tops and bottoms I'd be happy at this point. I don't really care if they had a reason or not, just let us do that as like a bare minimum.
Mood and I wish could make the peach accents purple in the violet dlc

One accidental feature they got rid of was hiding the menus in camera mode. What they *actually* did is fix the mistake where if you took a picture in camera mode it just took a screenshot - including the camera menus. So they fixed it so you can no longer hide the menus, but they're not included in the screenshot. Which annoys me because I would use the camera mode to take short videos of wild pokemon without my character or map etc being visible. Pretty sure I'm the only person on earth who did this bUT sTilL😭 lol

I also take videos using the feature. It's a shame that I cannot take videos without the menus. They should release an update that lets us remove the menus using the minus button.
Same, I'm so sad I can no longer take short videos of wild Pokemon or my team during picnics because of that :(
I hope they will make it possible to hide it again, it's so unfair.
Also, is it me or now that it requires to press A to take a picture, it is harder to catch the frame you want?
The screenshot button catches the frame almost instantly, but with the A button there's some milliseconds of lagging so I often miss the frame I was aiming for T.T
THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I'VE BEEN COMPLAINING ABOUTTT I HATE IT SO MUCH :O((( I play on the handheld version exclusively and some pokemon are so hard to see. I really enjoyed opening my camera and looking at them up close with out the stupid UI...

I'm not sure if the data would actually confirm this, but I feel like Paldea outbreaks have greater variety after the update, I've gotten outbreaks for Pokemon I've never seen get one previously. Also they apparently fixed the bug that would cause outbreaks to only spawn the default form despite what the map showed, this most obviously affected Tatsugiri and the Flabebe line.
Whoa, they fixed the default form issue? That means I can finally go after female Oinkologne. This must mean that, theoretically, it’s also possible to get authentic sinistea outbreaks correct?

I have aswell, I saw yungoos and dugtrio outbreaks which I had never seen before
Not just that, they also added outbreaks for cave exclusive spawns, ... this means stuff like deino and other pseudo legends ...
If only that happened earlier, just imagine how much easier my shiny marked Hydreigon could have been ...
If you get all the tablecloths, including the olive roll, the Guy will make all the chairs and give you two of each herba Mystica
Not sure if someone commented this yet but you can now make your pokemon stand in place like in legends Arceus when taking pictures.
You can do it by first sending out your pokemon and then holding down the left joy stick when it's in a desired location. As someone who loves taking pictures with my Pokemon this was a really great change (if it wasn't a thing already, I found it on accident lol)
Alongside the itemfinder mark becoming available, the gourmet mark is also easier since the food stalls at the festival sell food for 500. The mask seller returns to the booth to sell masks after you complete the festival for more clothing.
The Pokémon summary screen borders will change from orange in Paldea to leafy and green in Kitakami. The lady in the community center can lock it to Paldea’s orange.
If you bring the chair maker all tablecloths he will give you 2 of each Herba Mystica. There are 3 stores and an extra cloth as a prize for completing the olive roll.
Hard mode ogre ousting give so mini mochis it's super worth it to play if I have bought the vitamins one really good Hard mode run would give me over 200,000 in vitamins. The glimmering charm also fixes a lot of the Tera shard grind problems
Something else I see no one talking about is in North Province, where the Fairy Team Star Base is, is where I personally chose to do some lvl grinding since i dont really like raids and when im low on candy; I usually pop a lvl 1 ham sandwich to kill Chanceys. Blisseys popped up sooooo rarely....but now they pop up WAY more often. Love it.
Thanks for keeping it spoiler-free. It's so frustrating that even going on the internet to do something for my kids some CZcamsrs post videos that are like: ALL NEW POKéMON IN TEAL MASK and then literally make the thumbnail a picture of every one.
If you're avoiding spoilers, I advise not going online until you're ready. As you said, some Pokétubers put the leaks as video thumbnails. It's to generate hype and views.

You can get the olive roll tablecloth after you beat that gym. I'm in the middle of a playthrough and caught Ogerpon with only one gym and one titan defeated. I was able to get the Herba Mystica set that early in a playthrough.
Fun fact after you get all 19 chairs made he will give you a Herba Mystica set that contains 2 of each Herba Mystica
I'm hoping that they add an option for you to take a new trainer icon in selfie mode.
For some reason, you cannot do it.
Great vid! The Item Finder Mark was actually in the base game, but it was broken so your Pokémon could never obtain it. They fixed that issue in the update!
Btw of you collect all the table cloth in the game and you go to the guy in who makes the chairs he will reward you with 10 herba mystica

i think they also made it so your pokemon show up better in photos, before if you were slightly too close theyd just fade out of existence. i wish they added custom ball throwing in the teal mask instead of the indigo disk, would've given us a lot more time to enjoy it
I've made it my goal to buy all the clothing articles, so far i have way over 200 because i have 183 just in glasses
Something I haven't seen anyone mention yet: Shiny male Shinx got fixed. Male shinx have the hind paws black, but with a shiny one, before the dlc they would appear yellow. Now they're black again as they should be.
There’s also a bunch of new settings in the options menu including one I was eager to see added which is having the ability to turn camera assist off. Before this the camera would turn as the player moves so it always stays behind the character. It was annoying for me even though a lot of people find it helpful and now you can just turn it off or on as you please.

Since the update my picnic table has literally been disappearing leaving me unable to make sandwiches wherever I go and I literally have to hard reset to temporarily fix it. I've never had this glitch previously but its so irritating

I found the extra camera zoom extremely useful for shiny hunting Applin in the apple orchard. I had maximum apple tree viewing going on.
Hopefully they'll add the shiny mark on targeted pokemon to the new ones soon cause some of those shiny forms are REALLY hard to see.

But the datamine for Indigo Disk includes an item called Glimmering Charm. Or something like that. I suspect that triggers the sparkle I mentioned above. Because with each DLC, they are making it easier to shiny hunt (some final evos have been added to outbreaks in Kitakami now)
lol glimmering charm is what you get for completing kitakami dex. Just gives you more Tera drops from raids

A small thing they changed in up update is removing the hide guide option when using the camera, I know the take photo button hides the guide but now I can't use the camera to video pokemon.

Been taking my time in this dlc and it's really awesome
Unlimited TM usage was great don't know why they don't have it in Scarlet and Violet
The Map features are nice i always got lost when the mini map moved had to use markers just to keep my self going the right way
My favorite change is they improved the search feauture. Before if u had done the charizard or typhlosion raid and u wanted to find them, ypu had to manually look through the boxes or search using type and tera type now u can find pokemon by name even if they arent listed in the pokedex

I think Peachy is the same as Kitakami's Joy. The more you visit them, the more they give you. Joy gives new selfie poses.
The zoom level is part of the update?! I thought I just missed that feature entirely when I accidently zoomed out. Was so surprised and confused lol
10:00 there have been 3 zoom levels before, but you would have to use koraidon/miraidon climbing to switch to the close up. sadly, you would be locked to close up and medium angle afterwards though, not able to access far vision unil next time climbing walls.

I don't know if any of the other comments mentioned it, but the camera can also go almost completely overhead now so you can actually see all the tiny Pokemon in the grass properly.
The 3 player camera zoom thing actually did exist prior, I utilized it in shiny hunting for particular views depending on the area!

One thing that bugs me. Its Mo-Chi not Mo-Shi. Mochi is a desert made out of rice flower that come in various flavors and styles.
Anyone know if the raid power sandwich effects the herba mystica drops?
I figured out they fixed the item finder mark when my Gliscore got it almost immediately in the story.

Does anybody else have a problem with the new poses? Several people taught me new poses, but only like 3 appeared in the photography feature 🥺
Some are regular emotes while some are in the photo mode.

You can get the reset berries by redoing the psychic gym challenge. Beat knockout mode and you get 10 of each. A bit less time consuming and far cheaper than manipulating the auction house, imo.

As someone who recently started playing Violet, the lack of customization for your character regarding clothing sucks. One thing I really liked about the other games, especially Sword, was how much you could change around your appearance but with this game it really bogs you down. I wish they would’ve done that different
1000% I was able to see those turn counters during raids during the mewtwo event. Maybe it was AFTER the dlc but I know I used it during.

Already mentioned, but I’ll elaborate. The guy who makes the chairs will give you 2x of all herba mysticas if you show him all 19 tablecloths (which gives you all the chairs. Best to get all 19 at once to show him so you don’t have to do it multiple times, as he will check them all automatically) 1 is the default one you get. Then 17 of them you buy from the 3 shops in paldea (I was told something about a scarf makes you able to buy more? But I’m not sure what that’s about. I was able to get them all 🤷🏻♂️ idk if I have any scarfs lol). The last tablecloth you have to win the olive roll game thingy, in under 2:30. There are tips videos to help do that if you struggle. That’s all 19. Go get your herbas!

The 6 star dondozo raids actually really easy if you have a good special pokemon resistant to water dragon moves. i was able to solo a fairy type one with a steel plate arceus
I personally love rotating the map, it's just fun!

Question: Do you know how do I get my Shimyn to turn into its Sky form again? It turned back into its normal form and I don't have the item I think u need to turn it back into Sky form :(
i assume you get it at the auction house like other special items
Check your bag. If you don't have the Gracedea flower then you might have to buy another one at the auction house. You will have keep resetting until you get it. To reset the auction house, Save the game while you are there. Then go into your settings. Turn off auto sync date and time. Manually change the date. Go into the game and see if she has the flower.

i think they also made soloing raids slightly easier with changes to the ally AI. I've done many solo raids in the past and have noticed that only recently, Tauros and Heracross trainers set up with Work Up/Bulk Up respectively, Bellibolt trainers set up Light Screen, and Gardevoir trainers can heal the whole ally side of the den with Life Dew.

My new Ursaluna had item finder mark and I was like, oh, that's so cool it is like a treasure hunting pokemon... then all of mine started getting it and I was like, oh.
Is getting eggs when you have a full party new or old? Because when I watched CZcams videos about breading shiny Pokemon they all said you had to drop dawn to 2 party Pokemon and recall Koraidon/Miraidon to get eggs but I got eggs without doing any of that.
You've always been able to get eggs with a full party, and Korai/Miraidon doesn't affect it in any way. If you want to breed a particular Pokémon, it's best to limit the party down to two. That's because the eggs found in the basket will be from any viable pair at the picnic.

How many moochi do you get from the mini game per run? Because it could just be a more cost effective way of giving your Pokémon evs.
This isn't a question of cost, it's time. Ogre Oustin is free, but takes time. The medicine stuff like Protein is expensive, but instant.
I think its worth cuz the white mochi clears all EVs, can be really usefull.
Howd you get that color outfit for your character? Ive only gotten the green one and then the white and blue one from the grandparents

I went back and played Legends Arceus and it’s jarring how much more polish that game got
I’m so happy shaymin was transferrable in the new update. It’s my favorite Pokémon and I was hoping and praying to bring her over.
I saw the pics teasing her for the indigo disk and already knew I’d be able to bring her over then. However I had small hopes she’d maybe be transferrable in the teal mask home update and I was ecstatic to see I was right

I think the ease of access to bottle caps is the reason why TMs are a little more difficult/annoying to collect. Before it cost BP to get bottles caps which was annoying as hell.

I'd say the mochi is amazing in the mini game since it is Guaranteed to get and you get multiples of each instead of battling to build money then lose it all to get vitamin for an individual pokemon plus fresh start. Also apparently shiny drops are more common in dlc
that last bit is funny, haven't had a single shiny spawn in the dlc yet (at least none that I've noticed DX), but since the DLC dropped I've gotten 2 more full odds shiny spawns in Paldea lmao

The item finder mark was in the game but was basically impossible to get because you couldn’t until the dlc

Maybe I'm just stupidly unlucky atm but has egg power 2 been nerfed? ever since Teal mask I'm getting alot less eggs per sandwich.
