- Hey friends, let's build a bathroom vanity with fluted drawer fronts and doors, an off center sink, and a countertop cabinet--all in one video!
Not going to lie, I think this may be my favorite project of all time. The fluted detail is pretty cool and the fact that this is going into my bathroom (so I made it for keeps!) is probably what makes me love it so much.
So I hope you love watching it come together as much as I enjoyed building it!

Shara, I honestly have to say this is the most beautiful piece you've built. Not taking away anything from the former furniture you've made, but the craftsmanship and attention to detail gave this piece a blue ribbon. Have a great weekend. Steve
Thank you so much for the kind words! This one definitely had a lot of little details haha, but I really enjoyed adding that fluted trim. I appreciate you watching and hope you have an amazing weekend as well!
It's an absolute beaut! Lovely job, and thank you as always for the inspiration ❤
Absolutely agree 🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
I can only imagine how long this piece took to build, but I have to say that you are an inspiration for woodworkers everywhere with the simplistic way you go about your assembly. Not the super complicated methods others use.
I honestly started to question this build at the beginning, but you knocked this outta the park! I just couldn't see how extraordinary this piece would come together! It's truly a masterpiece, Shara, and thanks for sharing it with us! 👏👏👏
To be honest, me too because I did not have a plan going into building it 🙈🤣 but a piece at a time and it started coming together. So glad you enjoyed it!
I appreciate you watching and hope you have an amazing weekend! 😎
@@WoodshopDiaries Well, you should be extremely proud! Have an awesome weekend!
Absolute master piece. I couldn't even imagine what a vanity of this quality would cost to purchase. Looking forward to seeing the finished bathroom.
You’re so kind. Thank you! I’m hoping to share the updated bathroom soon but I keep procrastinating because I don’t want to patch the drywall after I tear out the closet 🙈😆
Wow, this cabinet is the most beautiful cabinet ever. Your woodworking skills are amazing.❤
So glad you enjoyed it! I appreciate you watching and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
That vanity is freakin GORGEOUS!!! 🥰🥰
Thank you so much! I can’t wait to get it installed! Thanks so much for watching! 😊
Love your choice for door and drawer fronts. Beautiful vanity cabinet
This vanity looks amazing! Adding the fluted trim pieces was a great idea. Gives the Vanity a vintage retro look. Well done👍🏾
I Love how well you explain and uncomplicate this process, after searching through dozens of videos on CZcams, I am so happy to have found a woman doing it. It is empowering. Thanks for sharing, Shara.
Looks really good. I like the drawer fronts and doors. The fluted design is perfect. Thanks for sharing.
Wonderful piece. The fluting looks fantastic. Glad you decided to use in on the cabinet doors.
This is the vanity that I will build for my spare bathroom. Thank you.
Awesome! Happy building! 🙌🔨
Ok thats awesome. I really like the cabinet on top and the glass door and the color is perfect. 3 top coats, with all that fluting, you are better than me ha
Thank you! Haha the finish with the fluting was a labor of love 😆 it took some patience but was worth it. Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
This is a beautiful piece of art work you’ve designed and built! I really appreciate your creativity and ability to share your step by step process. Plus, you always explain the minor mistakes you make and how to avoid and correct them. Please don’t apologize for your camera work! You do a great job! So glad to see Bubs and Lou got a little attention! Again this is an amazingly beautiful piece of work. I hope you all have a nice weekend!
Thank you so much! I so appreciate you watching and following along. And I’m so glad you enjoy seeing the shop pets here and there 😊 I cut two clips of bubs brining live mice into the shop because the video was already so long 🙈 but they were an entertaining bunch while building this project.
Anyway, thank you so much for your kind words and I hope you have an amazing weekend! 🙌😎
I would NEVER think of red oak for a bathroom vanity and yet, here we are with a beautiful, modern, but timeless, vanity!
So glad you enjoyed it! 🙌 thank you!
You’ve got talent beyond belief! Great job as always!
You’re so kind 💕
I'm so glad i found your channel, it's the only woodwork i watch keep up the good work, big ❤ from South Africa.
So happy you enjoy the videos! I appreciate you watching! Have a great weekend!
Me at the beginning of every video: Let's GOOOOOOOOO!
Everything you make is always so perfect! I told my husband that sometimes I get lost with the lingo, but you make it fun to just learn. Thank you for taking the time to share the pieces you build. I aspire to be even half as talented as you.❤
That is a beautiful vanity and cabinet. Thank you for sharing, and the tip about fluting.
It’s beautiful. You should be very proud of yourself. Well done!
You’re always the best at planning your scrap and cutoffs to be useful for something else! 🙌🏻
I’m not the best I’m sure 😅 but I try! I just hate keeping things but I also hate throwing them away 🤣 so I try and use up what I can. Thanks so much for watching and I hope you have a great weekend!
This is such a beautiful piece of furniture. I would even have it in my kitchen. Your instructions also are so clear. I really enjoy watching you work.
This looks so good. I really like the fluted red oak. It’s a great finishing touch.
Well, I can certainly see why you've been so pumped to show this project off. That's some beautiful red oak, and your creative use of the fluted trim casing (both as drawer/door front inserts and trim details) really makes the design stand out! There's just something about natural wood grain that really says "high-end"😌... love me some oak furniture. I also liked the eclectic mix of joinery techniques. That's going to look great in your bathroom (hope we get a peek at the finished product!) P.S. 11:40 there's no such thing as a "bad" time for a pet break🐕🐈.
Thank you! I really enjoyed this one (even though it did feel like it was never ending at times haha). I’ll have to share it again (maybe in a short) once installed. I dread doing the drywall work on that 🙈😆
I actually had two clips of Bubs bringing live mice into the shop that I ended up cutting out before posting 🤣 I didn’t want anyone to get mad about it, but I’m going to make a short of that and share it because it was quite funny 🤣
Thanks so much for watching this week and I hope you have a wonderful weekend! 😎
😊😊😊😊😊 what nice looking lumber do not see any knots anywhere must make the project flow a lot easier can't wait to see the end project
Thank you! I actually look for the knots and strategically place them where they’ll be seen. I like them-gives some character haha. But this lumber had very few. But there was enough grain to still give it some character 😍
Why thank you for getting back to me so fast we really appreciate it we hope you have a great day until the next video I'll see you then
Hey from Australia Shara,
I absolutely love this piece of furniture, it's gorgeous - like all your videos, thanks for sharing your skills in our craft 🤍
Wow! You've come a long way! I remember watching your cabinet build with canning on the doors years ago. Thanks for sharing.
Love this vanity and attached cabinet. Great job!
This is absolutely gorgeous! I've been struggling with finding the right look for the vainty in my guest bathroom, and I really must thank you, because I've found a lot of inspiration in this video! Both the style and the color is so outside my usual aesthetic, but it will compliment the space I'm working with so perfectly! I'll admit, I was a bit upset when you started staining such an already beautiful red oak, but seeing how it looks as a finished product, you absolutely 110% made the right call, and it's beautiful!
Thank you very much for this video! Happy to say I'll be poking that Subscribe button right after posting this comment!
Beautiful looking vanity, Shara! Great looking piece and a very nice design. It'll be a nice upgrade to your existing bathroom. Keep up the good work.
Astonishing piece of beauty and that doesn't even come close to the explanation. great choice of wood you used. Can't wait to see it installed in its rightful place. Thank you for sharing this masterpiece.
This turned out very nice, I like what you did with the drawers.
Wow this is the most beautiful piece you've built so far!! STUNNING!😍😍
This is absolutely beautiful!
Thank you! 💕 I’m so excited with how it turned out. I appreciate you watching!
DIY Dani needs your help! She has some drawers to build 😂
Wind has been real crazy lately
Love this vanity you are an amazing woodworker❤❤
You’re so kind! I’m not sure that I’m amazing haha, but I appreciate that 💕 thank you for watching!
Spectacular, Shara! ❤️
Wow! Looks amazing. I have been following you since the beginning and boy has your workshop come a long way. Jealous!
Look beautiful
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching! 💕
Well done, beautiful and functional pieces of furniture.
It surely is my favourite !
I don't know if it's my internet, but the quality of this video is incredible and feels like the best I've experienced. New camera? I appreciate the hardwood vs plywood. Nice to mix it up. As someone with a bathroom remodel in my future, I'd love to see the demo/rebuild/installation of this. Would be a fun journey to follow along with.
Thank you! I accidentally filmed my last three videos in 4k and I keep forgetting to switch my camera back. Same old camera as always. Just hit the wrong (maybe the right? 😆) button. Glad you enjoyed it!
I hate filming inside the house. It’s always cramped and the camera is in the way. But…I may make a Yt short video of it because it would be fun to share a quick glimpse! I just have to get motivated to patch this drywall first 😅
Very impressive cabinet making skills!
Thank you for your inspiration and now I have encouragement to keep trying. I love that you are detailed and you show what is going on with detail and I am thankful for your honesty and I am going to keep going and trying. Thanks you again.
Another work of art, nice one mate.
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching!
Outstanding work, turned out fantastic! Love the design and the video was a joy to watch. Love all your builds, already looking forward to the next one. Thank you very much for posting!!
Beautiful work. You gave me some ideas on how to build an additional towel storage in my bathroom.
Awesome--I'm so glad it gave you some inspiration! Thank you so much for watching and happy building!
You are incredibly talented. The joinery and detail are awesome. I've never had any luck with using dowels for cabinet doors, but you made it look effortless!
I only build basic things and although I'm not anywhere near ready to build something like this, your videos are demystifying the process. This vanity is absolutely stunning and I really appreciate you and your channel. Subscribed!
This my favorite build of yours so far!
That's a great looking vanity. I will be remodeling our main bath this year and this build has given me some ideas
Thank you! So happy to hear it gave you some inspiration 🙌 happy building/remodeling! 🔨😎
Nice build!
Thank you so much! I hope you have a great weekend!
I am just getting a chance to watch this build and I can honestly this is one of your most impressive builds. Not just for the beauty of the vanity but also for the innovative methods you used such as the molding for the drawer and door fronts. All in all this is just a fantastic build and I can see why it is your favorite. Thanks for sharing this.
Very nice job. Really like the way it turned out.
I appreciate that! Thanks so much for watching and have a great weekend!
This is a beautiful vanity! I will figure out how to build a 36" wide version of it for my powder room. Thank you!😊
Your sinking camera was actually very dynamic and interesting. It really elevated the shot :D
If only all my camera bloopers were happy accidents 🤣
Wow, that's a beautiful vanity! Turning the flutes vertical was an unexpected move and gives the piece a super high-end look. You have a fantastic eye for design.
You make it look so easy ugh. Lol i love this you do such good work, I'm honestly always impressed
Turned out really nice! Great job!
Wow absolutely amazing work Shara truly love the look of this vanity the oak looks amazing but the drawer fronts make this peace look so amazing. Great job can’t wait to see it installed. Thanks for sharing keep up the great work.

All your cabinet building video's are awesome!!!This one is super beautiful:) Nice work, Shara!!!
That is absolutely beautiful!❤
At the beginning I was like, hmm personal bathroom with plywood and edge banding ..no thank you. Then you pulled out all that Oak lol...yep ! that's the way to do it. Great build!
Thank you! My current bathroom vanity (in my main bathroom) and my last three in previous homes were made with birch plywood and I’d not hesitate to do it again
Beautiful design
Excellent work!! I love how the drawer fronts turned out. You are very creative and talented -- love your channel!
Well done, you are really professional!
Stunning. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you so much for watching! Have a wonderful weekend!
You are so clever it’s beautiful and it’s unique
Awesome job
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
This is one of the finest projects that I have seen you make. I look forward to seeing your creativity on the remaining vanities.
Thanks so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it. Can't wait to share the next ones! Have a wonderful weekend 😎
The info on the hinges is a great surprise. I am building a bath cabinet and one door is inset with/ face frame and one is frameless. I was thinking I would have to install a large block too. Thank you for the link. Very well done. So much better quality than what you can find retail. Note: the link for the frameless hinges takes you to the drawer slides. 🤭
Stunning !
I would agree, it is my fav of your projects!
Love this vanity 😊. I will definately build something similar. I enjoy watching your videos every week as they are so full of great tips and ideas and you explain things so well. Thank you for sharing what you do and i look forward to what ever you have in store for us next 😊
Thats a great build. Looks really good. Tahnks for creating chapters on your video, I don’t get to watch these videos all the way through, and the chapters make it so much easier. I know it is a lot of extra work.
Thanks so much for watching! I'm glad you enjoyed it and I hope you have an amazing weekend!
This is gorgeous. Wish you were near me and could build one for my bathroom.
Very nice job. Awesome.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate you watching and hope you have a wonderful weekend!
The fluting detail is stunning. Best project ever!
Obsessed! Thanks for sharing this project!
turned out great.you are awsome!
You’re so kind. Thank you for watching and have a great weekend!
That was so smart using the cutoffs from the fluted trim to frame around the finished panels. So resourceful! Great work
This turned out so amazing Shara!!! I love how unusual it is with the fluted fronts. It's great that you came up with a way to use the edges from the fluted boards to frame the fluted pieces on the drawers/doors. Nothing went to waste. It's great you're keeping this since you went to the trouble of making the solid wood panels and it's so beautiful. Had to laugh at Bubby walking across the wood as you're gluing it. Has he ever walked through the glue and tracked it across a project? I can picture him doing that. Lucy looked like she was enjoying the build also. Keep up the great work and thanks for sharing your creativity!
As usual perfect one of the things I do whenever I'm doing inset doors I run a 1 1/4 strip right across the inside frame to stop the doors, like I said perfect build love it
This build is amazing! So well done! I like how you used the cutoffs of the fluted boards as trim - nothing goes to waste. Fantastic job, as always! And I see that, as of today, you are almost to a quarter million subscribers. Very well deserved. :)
Thank you! 🙌 the cutoffs worked perfect-happy accident haha. Also, you’re right-almost to 250! I hadn’t checked in a while and didn’t realize it was so close 😅 thank you so much for watching and following along. I hope you have a wonderful weekend!
Looks awesome! I like your attention to detail.
Shara, I truly need to thank you. I went thru many of your videos and finally able to build bench at my breakfast area. It turned out awesome. I consider myself as below beginner. I went thru all the tools (most of) and brought them and started. You deserve my heartfelt gratitude and I mean it. I am not sure, how I can share my work picture.
That looks amazing 👏
Probably your best detailed work. Putting a chamfer on the legs before dragging them across the concrete is a good idea.
Great job again ! I will definitely buy the plans😊
This could be the most beautiful vanity I have ever seen! Well done.
Very good!
Thank you so much! I appreciate you watching!
simple and elegant. Thank you for sharing
Simply amazing 😍 👏🏻👏🏻
