As soon as the pay for Law Enforcement, Fire Departments, Ambulance Drivers/EMTs, Security Guards and the Military stops, their services stop.
No one works for free unless they are protecting their family and home.

Back when I 1st worked Security at a Mall that included adjacent properties consisting of strip center shopping. We had a black out during a storm that lasted about 4 hours during the midnight shift. We had 4 shops broken into within the 1st hour. There was only one unarmed Security Office on Duty for all the properties.
This was back in 1994 and things have not changed much in regard to Security but things have gotten a lot worse in regard the the values and morals of our society.
What no one discusses is the need for improvised and expedient construction skills and small-scale mfg at the homestead/farm level. These are what are needed for long-term survival.

Law enforcement is going home. There will be now law.
I believe repair, reuse, recycling is going to be key in each community.
Last year some drunk guy took out a local transformer killing power to the area(and my house). Water for some reason went out too...? It was late fall here in Montana, so it got cold. It was only 18 hours for it to get fixed but the lose of the internet, power for the TV, refrigerator, heater, etc made that 18hours HELL. Bored out of my mind. Some food went bad. etc.
Cant imagine 7+ days of it.
I had to get into my emergency food, water, and camping stuff to eat and keep from freezing to death. used an old 26 watt solar panel(all I have) to get an old 12" portable DVD player to work and watch a movie. In the end it wasnt a big deal..but
Its all fun and games until you really start to see the way things could be in a real long term SHTF situation.

Water pumps need electricity, that's why one of the first things people do when a hurricane is coming is fill up the bathtub with water.
So now I infer you have an in-line Generac with a 250 gallon propane tank plumbed into it, a wood or pellet stove, battery powered radios, etc. Well done. “Adjust, adapt, improvise, overcome”

I did buy 4 50 gallon water storage barrels that I keep in the basement with an extra hose attached to a facet whose only purpose is to fill the barrels. Our basement was cut into the side of a mountain, 100s of meters of Rocky Mountain granite on 3 sides. We could survive the asteroid strike that killed the dinosaurs. The yellowstone super volcano shouldnt be a problem either.
One issue>> the 4th side is just large glass windows, it faces north towards the ICBM fields near Great Falls. It'll be a good show and then a terrifying death.
How does ones food go bad if it is cold outside?
Most folks don't know how to live in a primitive environment. Army field training (FTX and deployment) has taught me how to live without infrastructure. The concensus is that less than 10% of the population has any decent preparation. Stay frosty
In a major event emergency the police will go home and protect their loved ones for the most part some will probably build a tribe with their coworkers

I wanted to let you know that we lost our dog last week to Heart Failure. She was 18 years 3 months and 4 days old. She was not a pet but a Family Member. I am having a very hard time with her loss. Just wanted to share with you I know that you are also still struggling with your loss of your beloved buddy.

My best advice is to build a Library at home of real books. On as many subjects as you can. Once the power is gone it's all you will have to reference with. If you have school kids at home , their gonna need this as much as you.

Protecting your peace (of mind) is an undervalued skill set.
We have a small group set up, and pushing to get more involved, and our preparations up.
In 1996 in December, probably around the 22nd or 23rd the northeast coast had a unique storm that dropped about 3” of hale and sleet followed by freezing rain. It turned into a 3” block of ice covering everything and it was unusually cold in va (where I was). We drove 3.5 hours down to the middle peninsula for Christmas with the in-laws and brought a generator. We left as it was just starting to get dark. It was the most eerie drive I’ve ever taken. 3.5 hours diagonally across a state and didn’t pass one home with any lights on. The power stayed out for most people about eleven days. Luckily I was able to use one of the double pole breakers as a field installed main and we were able to have a few outlets, microwave, air handler fan and the blower on the wood burning stove so we were fairly comfortable. For what it’s worth, society didn’t break down. But now that the communists have taken their toll on our youth, I’m not sure the results would be the same today.

I strongly recommend buying a good quality lightweight one person inflatable boat raft and a fresh water & salt water cast net for Survival uses. 🎣 Cast nets are important to catch fish with when the fish are not biting the bait on the end of your fishing pole line.
if much of anything happens, it will be the end of the USD and that will mean nobody works including cops and troops. Nobody can work for free. Marauding will be commonplace. Nobody will be guarding the cops/troops loved ones, so they will have no choice but to desert their positions and try to fend for their families and friends. It will go all the way to Mad Max in very short order, probably under a month I want nothing to do with the roads, or being out in daylight,making noise or showing a light at night. Fortunately, I've got only a very few miles to go to my BOL, where plenty of food is scatter-buried.

Stoker.. Just a bit of constructive criticism.. Disable the Auto Focus on the camera when filming.. That will stop with the out of focus shots.. Because as you move your hands the camera is trying to refocus, not that it needed it..
Hurricane Isabel came thru Richmond Va and we were without power for 10 days and some neighborhoods went as long a s two weeks....it was a real SHTF scenario and ice and cold water were a luxury if they could be found. People selling generators for $5000 and people were paying that for them....your are correct Stoker its not going to be mad max its going to a realistic situation that we need to be prepared for.

Yeah, you got to have a long term plan, and a way to carry it out. Mine is cattel ranching, but if everything is wiped out we can plan all day and it won't matter .
People need to take Mike Shelby's area study Intel course over at Forward Observer / Gray Zone Activity, and do an area study for their area or AO and outer areas of interest. Invaluable information and prepping.

In the event of the electrical failure this means the whole infrastructure shuts down and everybody out there knows this for all the people that say oh if you're not going to get a paycheck then you're not going to work forget about that!. There will be no fuel to go to work for any Services there will be no food available for anybody in any Services same thing goes for fresh water the pressure will stop and people will be dumbfounded. When there's no fuel food water or you're leaving your family to go to your supposed work and leaving your family unsecured you got to be stupid to try and move forward and that aspect therefore everybody's going to be protectionism for their own home their own neighborhood. As far as what stoker had mentioned about neighborhood stores being ransacked it's basically going to be the same people from that neighborhood ransacking it because people do not leave their part of town to go to another part of town to ransack other people's neighborhoods when theirs is closer remember there will be no fuel anybody driving a car will be an open Target so don't be a sucker. I have a lot of friends who are absolutely not prepared in any shapewear form for any kind of Hiccup in society whatsoever which means is everybody is a liability that cannot hold their own sorry for the bad news everyone but not even your praying is going to help that stuff.

When 911 happened, the prison I used to work at went on full lockdown. Guards were kept in the facility for over 2 days. Whole shifts called off. Guards were staying home to protect their family and didn't care if they got fired when they came back. Imagine how it will be when the big one hits. How many law enforcement will be working or taking care of loved ones? Something to think about. Nobody's coming to rescue those who lacked the situational awareness to prepare or survive. Time to get serious if you haven't already done so.

Ive lived through 7 days of no power after a derichio storm. It was bad, had to drive an hour to find a gas station with power to get gas. Traffic lights were out everywhere, water was out so i had to fetch it 5 gallons at a time from the creek then boil it. Ive also had it happen where stores only accepted cash because the payment processing centers in California were out of power due to forest fires...
Sense your a “survivalist” can I ask a simple question, do you buy water or medicine from the supermarket? I gather my water and forage medicine plants from the mountains, so when people freak out about a storm i don’t worry about going to the supermarket, I go to the mountains lol and get it for free, and that’s all i drink and use for medicine for the last 10 years
All my courses of action revolve around a minimum of 90 day scenario's.
Constructive criticism: you really need to fix the camera focus. It's very distracting. You aren't moving that much, so just use fixed focus.
i’ve been preparing and skill building since 1997. 2020 taught me that unless you have unlimited money, you will be affected no matter how prepared you are. And the people around aren’t going to pull together. they will trust the screens more than their own eyes
Some time ago (and still necessary) I've had to calm some people down who would get a bit too excited at the thought of those _Purge_ movies happening in real life. Improbable but not impossible.
It'd have to require masses of people losing their minds and causing a ruckus to kick things off. The local LEOS would see this as a typical riot and respond accordingly to shut it all down. Humanely. By the thousands? Okay, that's when martial law's declared and the military moves in. Checkpoints and curfews are initiated making sure no one is out without reason, lest they're arrested or gunned down. Suppose this happens in big/small cities and towns all across the nation.
Now we have a real problem. With a bunch of nutcases armed with weapons out on the streets with the intent to cause harm/destruction? Outnumbering the law and military 40 to 1? Yeah, time to pack it up, head back to base then maybe head home to protect their own families from the chaos. That's when our supplies will come in handy for sure.
Hypothetical situation aside, this could happen post-disaster in a "troubled" community. We often see the result is people everywhere doing their part to see everyone is fed/watered and has somewhere to sleep. Power outage in the 'Hood for more than a weekend? Hell hath no fury like an angry black woman being pushed to her limits.
Here's hoping the worst should never come. The threat of potential nuke EMPs has been exhausted for near a decade and I've grown weary of it. Likely it won't. Still, better to stack everything up for other sakes. After all, don't you just hate running out of an ingredient and need to make special trips to the store? Not when you have a dozen jars of it ready to go.
I came across this Military Field Manual some time ago. It must be in relation to the Fun Camp's that Hillary Clinton spoke of several years ago. I can't help but remember the Concertration Camp's in Germany and part's of Eastern Europe. The Monster is rearing its head again.

man, you gotta fix the auto focus issue. you're standing in one spot, talking -- can you please just manually focus your camera on the tip of the microphone and turn the auto-focus off?
one or two videos, I wouldn't complain, but it's every video in your studio: the camera keeps auto-focusing and calibrating, randomly and it's unnecessarily distracting. there is no reason for auto-focus to be on when it's just you in a stationary position.
