A truly genuine, beautifully brilliant man. His gentle spirit, despite his 6'4" stature and power playing, is what I have most loved about re-reading, re-listening, and re-watching his body of work. He was a pretty decent drummer (wink wink) but yearned mostly for a gentle, symbiotic connection with the natural world and with the spirits and minds of others. Fame was never his goal. It simply allowed him the means with which to do what felt most authentic to him. I wish peace for his wife, daughter and whole family and I'm grateful that his daughter won't ever have to grow up wondering what kind of man her daddy was.
It is definitely hard to keep up with his conversations because he can go off on so many different tangents one conversation it's hard to keep up with his intelligence LOL
I saw RUSH 6 times, all before 1982. I thank technology for allowing me to see them now again & again! But these interviews are great! To see inside the mind behind all those great lyrics Neil wrote is truly amazing!
Yeah, not quite 60 yet but close. Alex and Geddy are 58 and Neil is 59. But he'll turn 60 right about the time the upcoming tour starts. I remember an interview with Alex in the early 1980s where he said he couldn't see himself still doing the same thing at 40, haha! If he only knew...
Talking 'bout going to NKotheB(listen to interview - do not wanna write the name) with his offspring @ the female-frocked concert of theirs grabbed me as I knew it wasn't for long for his daughter on this Earth & that Neil would have his life interrupted for 100's upon 100's of days. What an incredible human being. And best drummer I ever heard that is still alive today.
Oh man, I'd have to look hard for it because it was in print, not video. It was from a magazine interview and I'd guess it was 1983 or 1984. If I can think of it or find it I'll post it here. The Power Windows and Cygnus X-1 archive websites have transcriptions and scans of hundreds of Rush articles over the decades but it would take quite a while to find it again quickly. But this was from a magazine I bought back when it was new 30 years ago. I'll see if I can find it. Thanks for watching!
she went into politics, years later. she's in the senate, in Canada. there's a scandal surrounding her right now, because she supposedly has mis-spent alot of money on travel. she should have stuck with journalism . lol
Oh man its so sad ...such a nice guy but tragedy hit. I don't think I could convince him or anyone else that hey death is just a beginning our real life begins after... I know it's 100% true but I couldn't convince myself if God-forbid faced with such tragedy. On a funny note Pan. asks if they can do it when 60. Little did they know that Rush is going to do an R40 tour....and still going... tho they called it quits just recently.
This is a guy who could have rubbed noses with Jennifer Aniston and Sylvester Stallone in the lights of their housing but he chose not to he chose to be secluded unrecognizable it's kind of nice people not knowing you who you are even though you are better than an A-list actor
And your comment is the most boring and loathing comment I think I've ever read on here.you comment amounts to nothing.at least rush is a band.you are nothing

so humble! I love how he's a famous musician and yet he loves to be anonymous and avoid the celebrity stuff! Sad loss to the world of music!
LOVE these interviews with Neil because he is so shy. Not only is he the greatest drummer ever he is also extremely intelligent. Just amazing!!!
It is definitely hard to keep up with his conversations because he can go off on so many different tangents one conversation it's hard to keep up with his intelligence LOL
He took his daughter to see New Kids on the Block. She would pass about a year after this interview. So sad
Admired for his talent, respected for his intellect, loved for his humanity.
Neil Peart. RIP Professor. 😔
Peart sure was a genius sure will miss him.
What a great interview... listening to Neil is very humbling. R*I*P Neil
"how can you do that?"
"i'm in the business."
Wallin has a great personality. She's certainly in the right profession. Enjoyable to hear to intelligent, well-spoken people talk.
Frankincensed Pamela got good and greedy in the Senate. All that " pork barreling" between her Duffy.
It's "Enjoyable to hear [two] intelligent,..."

I came to this video hoping to see "Neil Peart on Pamela Wallin part 2" - but its nothing of the sort, in fact they are only talking.

This is a guy who could have rubbed noses with Jennifer Aniston and Sylvester Stallone in the lights of their housing but he chose not to he chose to be secluded unrecognizable it's kind of nice people not knowing you who you are even though you are better than an A-list actor
