Some weeks ago, I had a discussion with a friend of mine, my focus was on the realistic solutions to our everyday problems in Africa. Coincidentally my focus was on architecture. I look forward to the day Africans outside Africa will return home to Africa, and collaborate with the intellectuals within Africa. And begin to apply what they have learned in building the Africa we want to leave for our Children. Thank you for sharing this.
Hey! I’m getting a dual masters in public health and public administration so I’m wayyyy far off from your field. I’ve done work with environmental health and health geography. Anyways could we see up a time to chat? I’m thinking about smart city designs and urban planning especially from the health perspective to address racial disparities for Black communities throughout the diaspora. I’m interested in taking these ideas back home to Haiti and revitalizing Pan-African alliances in helping other countries implement this as well.
A very interesting thesis that needs to be looked at seriously and broadly. A lot of construction methods in Africa especially West Africa, has no cultural attachment to the cultural history of the area. Therefore creating the impression of no architectual historic link that uniquely identifies an area ei: Paris, Rome etc

Haha it can’t be stolen bro it’s copyrighted and even if the topic is replicated that’s the goal. If someone goes ahead to develop the topic and make it happen I’ll be happy because it means I started change for my people. And wow that’s amazing.
It needs to focus on the history of our ethnicities. Igboland needs a revamp of “Igbo” history according to their region (we had acephalous societies) not just mere “African architecture” that homogenizes the most diverse continent. Until we start prioritizing our ethnicity and what we need (exclusion isn’t hatred), we are moving nowhere. Africans abroad need to start looking back home. You can’t demand a “seat at the table” when you voluntarily moved to a white man’s nation. We have to start asking ourselves what is the best future our nations can have (Should Nigeria split? In my opinion, it should!)
