  • Hey there, and thanks for joining me for this Tamiya Calsonic Nissan Skyline GT-R R34 build, in 1/24 scale
In this video I show you all the parts painted in white primer ready for that Nissan Flame Red colour, we get the colour down and I also as a bonus, get the decals down in this video too, and then show you at the end, the result after being clear coated with Mr Hobby's uv cut super clear gloss from a spray can! This clear paint is amazing!
Thank you for watching. If you liked what you saw please leave a like. Let me know in the comments if you have built this kit and if you enjoyed it, or what you thought of this video. All comments are greatly appreciated and I will read and reply to each and everyone of you.
    Have a great day

    Decals are a dark art

Haha I wholeheartedly agree! There's a whole load of new patience levels I'm having to find, but it was a target of mine for this year, to delve deeper, into the dark arts that is decal work lol

Really nice finish, Chris. Seeing the Calsonic livery in red reminds me of those old video games like Street fighter or Mortal Kombat where they would just change the colours and make a whole new character!

Thanks very much Thomas 🙏🏻🙏🏻😊 haha yes I know exactly what you mean, choosing the alternate outfit, which I did often enough unsurprisingly 😂

Good work once again Chris, I'm getting used to a red Calsonic instead of blue ☺️ Great work with those decals, especially the hood ones with all those vents and openings. Well done 👍🏼👍🏼

Thank you so much Karl 🙏🏻🙏🏻😊 yeah I was a little nervous at first, but it wasn't too bad in the end, it helped it came in separate parts

that number 12 decal, on the hood, after application, did you cut it to show the dividing line between hood and fender? Did you use some kind of decal softener?

    • @KitBuilderChris

I did cut it. I used Mr mark setter neo to get the decals down. Then once down and dried, I used micro sol (twice) to get all decals to conform to the body shape and once dried, carefully cut, using a fresh blade, into the panel line and then used micro sol again to get those areas conformed better into the panel lines. I also did it for the 'calsonic' logos on either sides and the 'calsonic' & 'nissan' on the rear
