- The authenticity of a recent report about a meeting between Hasbro and Netflix regarding the future of the Power Rangers IP is uncertain. The story claims that Hasbro wants to reboot the franchise with a new Mighty Morphin show, remaking 10 iconic episodes from season 1 with a modern twist and a new cast of young actors. The show would allegedly have a similar tone to the original 90s series and a lower budget, similar to "Once and Always." However, Netflix supposedly turned down the pitch, and it's now being shopped to other studios. While the report provides specific details, there's no concrete evidence to confirm its validity, leaving fans to wonder if it's true or just a rumor. What are your thoughts? You know, Hasbro should continue doing the Sentai route, cuz Super Sentai evolves one way or another, so does power Rangers, New storylines and new suits, heck they can even use Kiramager as an Evolved Zeo Ranger Team, Toqger being a Multiversal season cuz of the trains, Zenkaiger and Donbrothers continuing the anniversary season, They could even do King-ohger to create a medieval Power Ranger team
Let it go pal, it's not happening
@@cheapfinish6224 I know, it's just my opinion
If they want to recycle the Mighty Morphin team again, why not just create a new morphin team with Trina’s daughter. Keep Zach and Billy as the mentors.
Yeah they just refuse to do the smart thing
@@lilmovester2488 And Jason and Kimberly
@@JSmoothSoul Exactly
mmpr is already goated so if they dont match the quality it will just be a disgrace. and its just rehashing stuff we already seen. The kids dont care about pr because it's been ran to the ground so they dont have the connection older fans will have. They should focus on the older fans who actually care
I still want the Reboot universe for it to come out.
Do it
Regardless of the outcome it in no way detracts from my enjoyment of the franchise thus far. Being upset is just a waste of energy.
Best way to approach things is with some optimism (but don't be naïve in doing so) or be indifferent about it.
I think Hasbro should have done a damn sequel of the 2017 film, they even should’ve made adult series of Power Rangers instead of kids all of the time and honestly, Hasbro should’ve to take the brand seriously because they are screwing up the brand which is annoying
The backlash to this "news" isn't surprising but also rightfully warranted. Hasbro's making the biggest mistake of their lives if they think remaking MMPR is the best business decision. Hell, no one even asked for the 2017 movie, yet here we are. Why is so difficult to just give us a sequel to Once and Always, whether as another special or 10-episode series?? I wouldn't even mind younger actors as long as the OG's were involved in passing the torch. Thankfully none of this has been 100% confirmed but it does worry me nonetheless.
We don’t know that yet it could be and we need newer PR it’s like you don’t want new PR content reboot or not and I was hoping a new PR series in the style of cobra Kai and Once and Always
@@johnnymarrero8011 I know. It's just the more news I hear about the future of PR, the disappointed I become because they had a really good story for Once & Always that worked and it's like, why do that and not expand more on it? We'll see what happens as it gets closer but I'm just not confident anymore the more I hear about this
@@johnnymarrero8011 Also, I'm not saying I don't want new PR content. A remake of MMPR just isn't one of them.
Netflix and Hasbro for the Reboot of Power Rangers "CANCELLED!"
Bring it back to Original Series after Power Rangers Cosmic Fury
Idk if a 1 for 1 Reboot is going to save power rangers. They need to go the Cobra Kai route
At the end of the day, we just have to wait and see, also some people would be glad just have something rather than nothing
People settling for anything shouldn't call themselves fans
Jin is the Woj of Power Ranger lmao
Just make 1 off specials of all the PR seasons apart from that just make an anime series based on the boom comics especially shattered grid.
This doesn't sound like a good idea should have not changed anything and continue to create new seasons Also Netflix is a bust should have stayed on Nickelodeon or created there own power rangers channel. Hasbro is losing its thunder on Power Rangers
No way, PR is Not going Back to Nickelodeon PR has suffered enough from Nickelodeon
I think Power Rangers being PG is perfect once and always was a good tone but a kid show is stupid. Picture timeforce if it had a PG rating instead of y7
I’m hoping it’s true.
We'll get Endless Reboots of the Same Team like TMNT, with a Kaiju-sized Raphael as it's Leader, & Every Turtle is based on a Different Species.
Nah, Ill take a pass and stick with Super Sentai. If i want to watch MMPR then ill watch the DVDS not some poor remake that will never top the original cast.
They could’ve potentially did an anime based off the shattered grid comics or live action ⚡️
I don't think fans want other MMPR show
@@davinp CORRECTION: We don't want a remake
I'm 100% down for new MMPR stories.
These wouldn't be new episodes though, they're remakes
@@cheapfinish6224 Yeah and we don't need another remake of MMPR. PERIOD. They already did that with the 2017 movie and look where that went.
Hasbro should do another MMPR series with different cast but keep the OG's for mentor roles/battles kinda like what they had done in Cosmic Fury.
That sounds dumb
@@DHRFIGHTERPODCAST 2017 movie you should watch
I think this show will be MMPR next generation
@@Dewaynesite1 That's what makes the most sense. They've already established Minh as the new Yellow Ranger. Now, they just have to get 4 more to eventually replace Jason, Zack, Billy and Kimberly (5 if they want to replace Tommy, which I still think should be his son, J.J. Oliver).
@@DHRFIGHTERPODCAST Why??? That's like the safest route they could go about it. It's way better than them remaking the show, with new actors playing the original five.
Considering there is a new mmpr game coming out I buy it and I'd watch it
If they really wanted to do a MMPR reboot, why did they close up shop at New Zealand in the first place? I mean you did have the sets from once and always right there and you could have told a story of the next generation of MMPR rangers with Min being the main character recruiting other members, while you have characters like Billy and Zack mentoring them in a similar way to Zordon back in the day.
Hasbro needs to stop screwing power rangers and do things right but let's see if it happens again till next year just for power rangers
Will there be any Monster Suits?!
I would like to see Hasbro use the mighty Morphin power rangers storyline, as its own entity. And do that with all the other versions of power rangers, dairanger and kakuranger needs its own story and iterations forget the legendary mode, these power rangers need their own stories.
I guess this means it's the end of Super Sentai adaptations. Oh well, at least we can enjoy what we get from Sentai at least Boonboomger seems good so far.
Sentai isnt power rangerd
@@davidblyth6886 Well until we get anything here, that's Power rangers I'll be watching this.
There is no reboot
What's up I will just like a power rangers show
Maybe it should be MMPR next generation 🙂🙂
I’m not so sure how that is going to play out and I’m with the fans, I’m a bit tired of seeing MMPR all of the time and yet, I understand it’s more recognizable and it is sad that Power Rangers can only stand on one feet that is MMPR. After seeing this tweet from Jin, I’m convinced but not 100% yet, not that he is wrong and there are some truths to it. We personally don’t know what going behind close-doors at this point and I think there is a reason why Hasbro didn’t want to move forward with the reboot and the contract of Jenny Klein’s expiring for 2-years. I’m also kinda of a bit upset of this too of the Enwhistle and Netflix’s reboot TV-14 Rangers (Power Rangers) project that Hasbro chose not to move forward. But I do hope even if they went back to the Sentai adaption, maybe try to find an middle-ground just how the Disney era used to do with Power Rangers, where it is appealing towards both children and adults, make the dialogue a bit more real and the setting a bit more realistic, just make the stories and characters interesting, it doesn’t have prefect, but at the same time, don’t talk down towards it’s audiences because they can pick up when a show is talking down to them. I think just change the way on the main series is being written, just some things only, don’t drop everything, just figure out a way to make it appealing towards the former fans and newer generation of fans, who wants to get into Power Rangers.
@@aditbiju3717 See, I agree with pretty much almost everything you've just said here except the thing is (according to what Jin said at least) is that we don't need a modern-day REMAKE of MMPR. Like, I'm down with a new MMPR-centric show but it doesn't need to be remade with a new cast playing these characters (we already tried that 6 years ago with the 2017 movie and look what happened with that, despite it gaining its own following). That's the part I take issue with and what I'm hoping is NOT true. Now what they SHOULD do is make this re-worked "reboot" into a canonical series continuation of Once & Always, with the OG's back, giving us one last hoorah with them and continuing Billy's arc of his search of finding how to bring back Zordon, all while introducing 4 new younger characters played by new younger actors (since they've already established Minh as the new Yellow Ranger which then make 5) and make it a passing of the torch to the newer generation. That's what they SHOULD do. That's how you can reboot MMPR without having to actually remake the entire series from scratch. Other than that, I agree with everything else you've said on how they could find a middle-ground like the Disney era and appeal it to both children and adults as far as dialogue and make the tone a bit more grounded. Cuz say what you want about the writing for Once & Always but the tone was more grounded and aged up a bit while still appealing to kids (even though the execution could still be debatable). Also, no Sentai footage was used so there's that too. The special was a success. It's only fitting they build off from that and improve upon it.
This show will probably only end up being picked up if they make it about a bunch of lesbians that inherit the mmpr powers, and spend most of the trashing Jason and Tommy 😆
I'd pay to see that. Jason and Tommy's cults could do with a paddling.
@@cheapfinish6224 You'll pay to see PR lose most of it's audience!?
I feel like the dino fury cast should be in mmpr new show
I'm going to take these rumours with a grain of salt. But if they are confirmed to be true at least it'll be content.
If it's just remakes you're better off with nothing, or at the very least fanfilms
Power Rangers reboot should be darker.
Darker is not better
@@davidblyth6886 new power rsnger series should be targeted to adult audience that's why darker.
No reason to be mad. It’s something and that’s probably better than nothing at least in my opinion
@@shawnhussain7713 A complete remake of MMPR? There are plenty of reasons to be mad about this.
@@Eddy0828 or we can just let the franchise die instead of pick up steam with SOMETHING. Got news for ya boss, with all due respect kids imo don’t watch Power Rangers like we did. We’re keep it alive and it’s realistically on life support. If this is the best we got, it’s the best we got. I understand how you feel, they’ve been milking Mighty Morphin for 30 years but we need more of an audience before we start taking financial risks. We both know Mighty Morphin sells. Hopefully we get that adult themed Power Rangers one day man. Didn’t mean to come off rude or anything but I’d rather this then let the franchise die
@@shawnhussain7713 Maybe you misunderstood me. I'm not against more MMPR content. It's the idea alone of remaking it is what upsets me. You wanna cast younger actors, cast them in new roles as the next generation while having the OG's as mentors, rather than just recasting the original five. We already had that with the 2017 movie. No point in doing it again.
@@Eddy0828 honestly, hell of an idea. They gotta bring you in at Hasbro man lol. I get what you’re saying!
@@shawnhussain7713 I'm just saying. You wanna make Power Rangers mainstream again and actually get new kids and older fans to watch?? That's how you do it. Cobra Kai did an amazing job of juggling old with the new, keeping the legacy of Karate Kid alive without having to take away the story they're trying to tell. Power Rangers could thrive if they'd just stick to that rather than just trying so hard to appease modern audiences.
Say what you want about the writing and such for Once & Always but it set the stage for future franchise potential. The tone was darker and no Sentai footage was used. Sure, it was an anniversary special meant to be a one-and-done but it was a success and they left the story open-ended by having a new character (Minh) take on the Yellow Ranger powers as well as Billy still trying to figure how to bring back Zordon. Plenty of story expansion and exploration right there and they want to just throw that all out in favor of a hard remake?? Naw, F that! Hasbro's only shooting themselves in the foot if this "scoop" ends up becoming true, which I hope to god that it doesn't.
Just give the series to Bandai or Toei FFS.
Needs tommy
