When I try to import image after converting with inkscape, it will only show up on canvas as black which I cannot get to show even after resizing to suggested size.

unfortunately, as far as I'm concerned, it doesn't help. I'll tell you why: if I have 10-15 models of unicorns or hearts or... it doesn't matter, I can't identify them by the image. according to the description, it is very difficult to work like this, because you cannot visualize them

SVGs will not visualize them in most cases on the thumbnail unfortunately.
