@@v.rudeboy9829 I can agree with that. The Thing is one of the most brilliant horror films ever made. I’ve never seen Jaws as horror however. I think of it more as an adventure film.
Today, May 2nd, 1974, Deputy Hendricks found Chrissy's arm on the beach. Great scene from the movie👍. Happy 50th! and great interview with Marty Milner!
I met Roy Scheider in NYC in the mid/late 80's. Super nice guy. I also got to meet Peter Benchley in the early 2,000's. He was a very down to Earth man. I got to talk to him as well, and I told him that I was 8 years old when I saw the movie, and that I haven't swam in deep water since 1975. He apologized profusely and I told him there was no need, because it brings me some of the best memories in my life. I was really fortunate to meet these 2 great men. May they both R.I.P.
Great hearing from Marty. I read about him in Memories From Martha's Vineyard. So pleased i did a Jaws tour of the island in 2016, as when Marty refers to specific places on the island, i knew what & where he was referring to. Fantastic listening to him. 👍
Wow almost 50 years, Such an amazing masterpiece of a Film, and one of my all-time favorite movies ever! We're going to need a Bigger Party to celebrate ^^ Edit: 50th for next year the film release but Happy 50th Anniversary to JAWS on this Day 50 years ago on it's first Day of Shooting this Masterpiece. We still going to need a Bigger Boat 😃💖⛵🦈
So awesome. My dad was fascinated with sharks after watching Jaws and passed it on to me. He introduced me to Jaws when I was quite young and Ive loved it ever since. Jaws is the reason I ended up cage diving with great whites. Everybody needs to do it
Brilliant interview Ross Thanks Marty Reckon there's another JAWS bible to be added. Quint's shack, what a incredible "temporary" structure, not in the movie for long, but authentic central, looking like it was one of the first structures ever to be built on "Amity" ! Scene of the ORCA leaving harbour, shot through the set of jaws, with a zoom ! Was wondering if Marty rubbed shoulders with Shaw, Scheider & Dreyfuss at any stage ! The billboard has to go up next year, at least ! :)
@@vidcat Many thanks Marty for the insight with Ross. You should write a book, to add to the JAWS shelf, alongside "Tales from Martha's....", "JAWS Log" etc. Balsa Wood or not, that scene where "Bruce" crashes through the side of the ORCA, to get at Scheider Wow ! Quint's shack though, phenomenal craftsmanship ! CGI ? Not in these "waters". Enjoy the 50th Anniversary Marty
This looks cool. Can't wait. I wonder if they will release a remastered version for the 50th. Although this movie is a masterpiece and shouldn't be touched, the only thing I ask for is a version where they fix that jaws hinge with some CG. That's it. Don't touch anything else. Hehe.
The jowls always bugged me too. However there are so many scenes where Bruce looks completely like a real shark. Especially when the guy in the estuary was being attacked. It’s chilling how real that looked. CGI would take me out of the movie.

another great interview. thanks for the tear drop. just to state the obvious. there appears a huge fandom (even in Britain) for the real mob guys of the 1970s/80s (at least 1 american mobster has even travelled to Britain to do meet and greets recently). i am not sure who controls the copy rights, i assume Mrs P B, but some body should write the 'JAWS: the 5 Families'. the story of the 5 (JAWS 5) families that controlled the mayor during the (1st) shark attack timeline. using only a shark during the scenes when the Mayor (or when one of the 5 Families' family members) is in a scene with a shark. the main Beach scene with the shark in the Pond as an example. I am not a writer, but i can see the serious potential for such artwork. with so many youtube channels now dedicated to the Mob, living mobsters included, it may be easy to hire some of them to play some of the parts in such an opus. myop only one of the 5 needs to be Nj/NY mob, with the remaining 4 families all Amity Island residents. the hotel owner, as she hung out in the water during the beach scene (prior to the fake shark fin scene), would be one. 'i can't talk to you' (as she needs the beaches to be open). or the Hardware store owner, and his family. or the newspaper reporter (carl's character finally getting the scenes he was cut from). and the old man, and his family, that the Mayor convinces to 'please get into the water - no body is going in'. that man ends up being laid out in the water as many swimmers race back to the beach. and of course the Mayor. 'my kids were on that beach too'. do not need the shark to sell a JAWS 5. need a well written story of 'how the 5 Families would not see the threat of a shark. how they would push upon the Mayor to beaches open, regardless of the death(s)/attacks. the Mayor was fully aware of all the details of all the attacks, shown as he updated the media with his 'there was a large predator that injured some bailers' speech. i do not know whom to send this pet idea project to, but Ross u likely do. i care not for any credits/coins/etc. i prefer to play the role of Sackler in this and claim 'i just do not have any time to work on this' so give it to sum (money term) 1 else. JAWS seems to be done, with #4 being the last picture. But using the point of View of the Mayor, the 5 Families that pushed for the beaches to remain open, the tourists (not knowing a shark would even attack a beach of people - it being the 1970s and before Jaws/Jaws2. and without any of the hunting of the sharks, without much water scenes either - as none of the 5 Families (including the Hotel owner/hardware store owner) went out to hunt for the shark. a shark movie about the real sharks that live on land and hunt for as much coin as they can (pun). Casting will be the THING. who plays the Mayor? his family (he is married with kids) who plays the hotel owner, the hardware store owner, and the rest of the locals? and of course, how many living mobsters can be Cast into the roles? Mike F has his own channel and would likely dive into the opportunity to play a part. he has a bunch of kids, grown up, that could slide in = more of his Fans would buy tickets to see the opus. // no one else seems to talk to about a JAWS 5. but then again, who is thinking of the Point of View of the Mayor? of the locals that want the beaches open? or of the Mob, that has some investments in the island's business. heck, the island was so Off limits to so many folks (during the real 1970s) that the Mob may have wanted those beaches as a safe haven from (cops /FBI). Ross, u know everyone that might have copy right to the content (title of JAWS) and u must then know more folks that might become a part of such a production. I just want to see the movie, JAWS: the 5 Families. as the late George Harrison put it (about his investment into Monty P's movie 'the holy grail'), 'i just wanted to see (that) movie'. Pls and thanks, see what the circle of friends have to say about the idea, and hand the ball off to whomever holds the Rts. I am not asking for someone to make 'the last shark' (1980). I am asking for someone to make a real JAWS 5, but from the island-land owners' perspective. a real Drama, not an action movie. min budget, figuring most JAWS fans would be interested in such an Opus. 'life is life' (an opus song) God Bless and keep up the Good work. // and let me know what the 'circle of friends' have to say, even if they shit can the idea. LOLOL maybe steven himself might direct the movie, given it is a drama and likely to be the Last JAWS (#4 sucked and should not be the last movie of the franchise). thanks for reading
