    Your videos are such a highlight of my day. They are uplifting and always interesting. I wish everyone had the positive attitude that the two of you seem to have. You've make lemonade out of lemons instead of endless negativity and whining about things not going as planned. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.

    One day I’ll get up the nerve to try sushi. The soufflé pancakes looked yummy. Loved the vending machine speakeasy. My USMC dad was stationed in Okinawa - looking forward to next video.

    Love your videos! I think your cruise sounds fantastic! I am retired and travel with a local tour company in my Arizona town. Met some wonderful friends there and in July we are taking a tour/cruise on Princess to Alaska. Never have been so very excited. Happy travels!

    Coolest bar I went to was in Puerto Rico. It was a bar in a bar. You had to walk behind the counter of the first bar and there was a "hidden" door that led to another bar downstairs.

    I love Japan! My in laws lived in Tokyo for a few years in the 90’s so I fortunately was able to visit just one time. Definitely want to go back! I had my first try of sushi there and that was at a small restaurant with a conveyer belt that the sushi just rolled by and you picked whatever you wanted. You paid by how many plates you had stack up at the end of the meal. Fabulous!!! 🍣

    I love your videos. Tomorrow you would be in the Canary Islands. I suppose you have been previously there but if you haven’t try the papas con mojo (aka potatos with a dip sauce) and Fuerteventura white wine. Prices are a little bit cheaper because you don’t have to pay vat, so if you need something like perfume or cosmetics from French brands buy it there. It would be cheaper.

      We ended up having an overnight in Tenerife. Unfortunately, we missed getting some of the food you described here as were now back in the open sea, but the food we had was excellent.

    • @mariajimenez-wt2fn
      @mariajimenez-wt2fn Před 2 měsíci

      If I knew you had a overnight I would have recommended you la gomera and garajonay national park. It’s really far away from Tenerife because ferries go only from the south of the island, which I dislike inmensly with all the resorts but garajonay is just another world.

    I really enjoy following your adventures on the Ultimate World Cruise, thanks for sharing the experience! Can I ask you a question too please? How do have such good luck finding good local guides across so many ports instead of using Royal Caribbean for excursions. Are you using a website that reviews them like Tripadvisor or doing your own research? p.s what’s your next port?

    • @livingphase2
      @livingphase2  Před 2 měsíci +3

      We do a lot of research on the Internet. We use short excursions group, via tour, tours by locals, and just do a general Google search. We do our best to choose those who have good reviews. and our next port in two days is Tenerife in the Canary Islands.

    You mentioned going to Belfast, and the Titanic Museum. I'd suggest changing that, the Nomadic is worth the visit but the main Museum is pretty poor. There's nothing from the Titanic in the Museum and its just a walk through without a guide. A much better thing to do in Belfast is a Black Cab tour of the Troubles.

    • @livingphase2
      @livingphase2  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Perhaps we miss spoke as we are not going to Belfast, we are going to Cork. Thank you for the suggestions.

    What a fabulous trip. I noticed you often go to ATM machines for local currency. Are all the ATMs in English?

    • @livingphase2
      @livingphase2  Před 2 měsíci +1

      This is Nancy here and I’ve had to ask Mike because he goes to get a local currency. He said everyone has had a button that you can push to translate to English.

    So what do you do with all this extra world currency you accumulate over time? I'm sure it adds up.

    • @livingphase2
      @livingphase2  Před 2 měsíci +2

      Well, we really don’t take out too much foreign currency. Credit cards are pretty widely excepted. Also, some of the currency we can use to tip the staff on the ship who are from the countries we visit.

  • @Marty-wf2sv
    @Marty-wf2sv Před 2 měsíci +1

    How do you know how much local currency to get at each country

    • @livingphase2
      @livingphase2  Před 2 měsíci +1

      We estimate depending on our tour and what is included in our tours. Many places will take credit cards so we really don’t need much local currency.

    • @livingphase2

    Protip: the 7-11 ATM machines in Japan give the best exchange rate. Don’t give tips in Japan, it is offensive…. Well more like you confuse them.
    Buying food from convenience stores (7-11, LAWSON, Familymart) is a thing.
