- Former world champion Victor Ortiz recently took to social media to go live on Marcus Watson's "Good Music Monday" and talk to fans about several topics as boxing gets back to some sense of normalcy during the coronavirus pandemic. You don't want to miss what went down. Check it out!

Much respect for Ortiz for learning from his mistakes. Takes a real man to acknowledge your wrong doing.
Victor Ortiz is the textbook example of not following "Protect yourself at all time" boxing's first rule.
its crazy to cuz during the 1 on 1 table talk with floyd n victor....floyds like "if u make a mistake you're gonna have to pay." and rest is history lol
Ortiz try to headbutt Floyd because he was frustrated that he couldn't hit him couldn't solve the puzzle lol
What fight were you watching. Ortiz was beating paper champ mayweather, throwing elbows trying to cause injury to the eyes. Chump was scared so he took a cheap shot
@@lakernation2704 nah..he has fast hands but he didn't hit Mayweather clean as the fight went on..just like with Judah.
@@lakernation2704 you must lost hella money on that fight bruh
@@Mickieshelton bro why would a fighter make shit up. Mayweather found ways to cheat like draining his opponents to his advantage, picking certain type of gloves etc
@@Jtonio97 naw don't bet on gaywrather fights he own vegas an the judges, imagine how much revenue they would loose if he lost. It's all politics with that paperchamp
Good job Victor owning up to your mistake in such a big way! Respect!🙏🏾
Mayweather’s straight right hands closed Ortiz eyes, not his elbow. This fight is one of best fight to watch to learn how to box against a southpaw..That’s one of the most agressive he’s ever been at welterweight. He was definitely going for the ko regardless of the headbutt.
Very few times have I ever seen Floyd THAT sharp he’s always sharp but fights like canelo and Ortiz he was just in the zone
@@icecold2154 and his gatti fight Floyd was getting everything off on him
@@oskithedonable DEFINITELY Diego corrales too💯💯
I admire the hell out of you Victor for this interview. This really touched me that you could say the things that you just did. You have a fan here!
Your Humility is incredibly refreshing Victor. Much respect bro! You are an incredible example for all top athletes!
???? Dude quit like 5 times in the ring.
@@RaiderNation86true he doesn't know how to adjust in the ring once he begins getting shots 😂
Ortiz was getting whooped through 4 rounds, I have no idea why critics say Ortiz was up on the scorecards before the ko. Floyd was in route to a dominant win regardless of the ko.
Nah it was competitive.
He was not fighting him very well. He was fighting him VERY DIRTY the ENTIRE FIGHT. Come on now.
The only way to fight Floyd is dirty aka Chino Maidona strategy. Ortiz was doing well up until the headbutt. Ortiz had the hot streak when he fought Floyd. Ortiz was big and powerful. I think Floyd would've won but would love to see the fight go on...
@@alg5534 doing well? No he wasn’t that is why he headbutt him. He was being beaten up
@@pandabear1576
Don't get me wrong, Ortiz was losing, just saying he had the right game plan in making it a dirty fight, instead of boxing with Floyd, that never works.
@@alg5534 He had the right idea in getting Mayweather against the ropes and just throwing a lot of shots. Granted, this has never been successful against Floyd either but it was better than standing in the middle of the ring with him for sure. Throwing the headbutt in there was just disrespectful and obviously illegal, not to mention pointless. I agree that it would have been interesting to see him continue that strategy for the rest of the fight to see how Floyd would handle it.
@@alg5534 Mayweather has his tactics too. Maidana couldn't have bit Mayweather if May wasn't holding his head down and choking him doing the clinch.
Met him at Wild Card. He really is a good person. You can tell. He always has a smile on his face and he is super respectful. He has gone through rough times and deserve to be forgiven.
Best post-fight interview ever! YoU dOnT kNoW sHiT aBoUt BoXiNg
Victor had no chance of beating mayweather no matter what happened
@George Molina they touched gloves once that happens it’s time to fights everyone knows that protect yourself all times. What do you call that intentional headbutt by Ortiz ? That’s pretty coward like to me. Threw a headbutt cuz he couldn’t land a punch n was getting embarrassed and Floyd was makin him look like a amateur fighter so he headbutted him
@George Molina what kinda fighters complains after just throwing an ILLEGAL headbutt what Floyd did was legal touched gloves, then 2 pieced him his bitch ass for being dirty.
He was getting his ass kicked.. had a (one, uno) DECENT moment in a round.. got excited.. lost control.. head butted him.. and got 2 pieced.. end of story.
he was 2 maybe 3 rounds a way from getting stopped anyway.
Felix Donnell Big facts !!!!!!
Basically
😂😂😂😭
In your corners defence they probably didn't feel the need to add the word discreetly
Much respect to Victor Ortiz. He was in the fight, however, he lost his bearing. We can all talk shit about him now, but Vic is warrior. We all mess up, the difference is how bad, and can we hide it!
Well said!
Actually he wasn’t in the fight hence the head-butting. Quit tryna justify why he lost. Ortiz was outclassed. Period.
Warriors don't quit
I talked about Victor like a dog after the fight he definitely earned my respect back with this The humility Ortiz showed in this interview is what the world needs right now.
I'm with you!
He was getting punished and dominated every single round! How is that fighting great?
I know lol he was gonna get stopped
@@stockyguru It was only a matter of time lol
They only fought for three rounds , the round it ended was his best flurrie
Rewatch the fight he was actually winning bro he was gone lose but at that time in the fight he was winning then saw Floyd was making adjustments and tried to get dirty.
@@Ballinbmac No you need to watch it! He didn’t win a single round and was eating shots all night
It's always "coulda; shoulda, woulda" with Floyd. He's the GOAT leave it at that.
The goat with no power KO most of his running ,hugging and boring fights 12 rounds decisions (unless he hit Ortiz unprotected)lol
@George Molina Yeah ? Right lol
I counted over 4 attempted head butt in the course of the fight. Until the last successful head butt. He had planned to head butt Floyd from the start. HBO was so biased aginst Floyd it is so clear and easy to see.
This dude made & can't let go he got caught slipping after he got dirty #GetEmOuttaHere
Aye real shit nothing but respect not many men would admit that big of a fault 💯real man shit
Keeping it real .. Ortiz 💯 much respect
"Headbutt his head" 😆
You can headbutt someone’s arm or leg
"Headbutt him" wtf what kind of corner is that
Old school corner.
😂😂😂😂 right
The corner denies ever telling him that, FYI. Trying to pass the blame.
The Robert Garcia Corner
Sounds like Robert Garcia!!!
That fools loses all the time “black American ” fighters so he tries to cheat... Dame shame “ coward” move and no respect to him if he said that!!
I would’ve never kissed a fighter during a fight I would’ve made him kiss my fist
Yeah it shows his mentality wasn't savage enough to be in there. Mayweather showed how him right after that there isn't any love in the boxing game.

Wasn't no underrated fight ...he was getting his ass beat the whole fight...
Ask mayweather about ? MAIDANA & José Luis castillo .
@Marc Detail you right ..
He lost to Castillo the first fight the first maidana fight was a draw
@Marc Detail haha jelouse of what a women beater
@Marc Detail First Castillo fight with Floyd I scored a draw. But it doesn’t matter what we think Floyd won. Maidana won 4 maybe 5 rounds.
I love this!!
If victor Ortiz was great he could’ve bounced back from the loss of mayweather like Canelo he lost to the best not like it determined his career
Victor was great. He is the epitome of God given talent. Unfortunately, he was short in the "heart" department. Still a world champion with some great fights. Pay homage, dont hate...

You sure it was the elbows that was closing your eye or the straight right hands?
If people are hating on you is because they know you have potential 🥊
Ortiz was world champion. How did he have 15 cents in his account? Mayweather took his belt easy.

Well at least he got a part in an action movie . Hollywood executive must have felt sorry for him. Also Floyd gave Victor a great chance to make alot of money. Victor made more in loosing to Floyd than he made in any 3 or more of his fights. Big payday. Thanks to Floyd.
Keep your head up champ! Haters will always hate

Come on vic , you can still make a comeback ,I know u In shape have Roach train you.
I’m not surprised this quitter is showing his true coward self. Blaming his coach for his loss. Jaja. 🤦♂️ He was about to get stopped. Anybody that truly knows boxing knows that. That’s why he was giving his best last rounds because that was all he had left. It is no coach’s fault it is only his own. Much respect to you bro you were just a kid I mean i wasn’t even in shape at 24 like you were let alone at the top of boxing and you know I always felt like you had a lot of potential in this sport just made mistakes you can’t take back and you know honestly I don’t think Floyd elbowed you I mean he doesn’t even throw the hook the way your describing it he throws a check left hook so he slaps you with the hook and you know I think Floyd was clearly beating you in my honest opinion but again you was 24 and you never did that again afterwards despite the loses so you know much respect and I wish you luck in w.e you decide to do after boxing because it’s time to open that new chapter but i will never forget vicious victor ortiz vicious with a smile.
AB VS Ortiz
Mayweather is a dirty fighter but nobody mentions that, his elbows, his pushing, his lack of sportsmanship when it came to globe choosing and weight classes. Nobody talks about that.
It’s a fight bro
Let me guess, your one of those guys that says floyd just runs?
And if your talking weight classes he fought bigger men his entire career even before going up in weight. Maidana was over 162 when they fought
The bigger man for owning up to being human!!
Remembering that night makes me sad... Had to place this video in Do not recommend list...
The fight was good before the ending and I do believe Floyd would’ve pulled out the W, but I didn’t like how it went down as a fan. I remember the crowd at the bar being pissed at the way it went down.

Victor Ortiz is like the Tasmanian Devil, he is a living nightmare at times, yet you will always find a way to enjoy and forgive him.
Props to Victor for accepting his role and apologizing because the Floyd haters blamed Floyd for the way the fight ended when it was clearly Ortiz's fault for tht intentional headbutt....
That's a good young man.
U there to fight not to pay respect to a legend

Respect to ortiz he made good money. He was never a great fighter technically, but most importantly he had no heart and I don't think he really liked fighting. But God bless him.
Still the best fighter that Mayweather fought. Vic is a future HOF
I'm glad he's grown as a man and learned some valuable lessons. But let's keep it funky... he was in no way shape or form giving Floyd a good fight. Floyd was touching him with numerous right hands throughout the fight. Oritz was getting out classed and Floyd was Son'ing him. Even at one point taking Ortiz head in his hands like a loving father tring to teach his 6 yr old son a new combination and shaking his head "No" as if to say "thats not how you do it, but thats cute." If I remember Ortiz had been using his head all night and was warned by the ref about it. Jumping off his feet to headbutt Floyd like a damn Billy goat was the final straw, it sealed his fate and Floyd took the next opportunity that presented itself. Ortiz was doomed when he signed the contract. At the weigh in Victor's entourage keep pushing into Floyd during the face of and Floyd poked his finger in his face and then choked him with one hand until they were pulled apart. Smh
I Respect the RealNess OrTiz
As much as I admire Floyd for his skills, Ortiz was taking it to Floyd up until the head butt. For the 1st time I told myself, “Floyd is going to lose this fight”

Once you get older you'll realize you didnt know shit about life when you're in your 20s
