Sometimes you’ve got to stop, look and listen
Before you cross the road
If you don’t listen
You could be stiff and cold
It takes some grace, love and laughter

We’re behind you as you take your place
You need a monkey, a badger, a squirrel
Before you cross the road
If you don’t bring them
Remember the toad!
It takes some whisky, some vodka and brandy
Before you cross the road.
And ask your buddies if you’re scared and cold

In terms of lyricism it's no "I don't want to see a ghost, it's the sight that I fear most, I'd rather eat a piece of toast and watch the evening news." But it's a good line all the same
