    Just stumbled on your video. I picked up a Typhon TLR last year. I've been into RC since 1986. My TLR is one of 12 RC vehicles I currently own, and my favorite by far. My build has a Castle Mamba Monster X 8S, TP Power 4050 2300kv (8S capable), and PerfectPass 56kg servo. I've had it to 80 MPH so far and that's good enough for me. Going to dial it back and just bash with it. What a beast.

      Very cool. Yea my Mojave EXB has a XLX2 1717 8s combo in it and i love it. i usually just end up running is on 6s because 8s is insane.

      Yeah I think 8s is much better than 6s for high speed runs. Although I would like a 12s capable machine when I build my new TLR race roller + Ltd edition carbon fibre towers, shocks and chasis. Only got $2500 but I know I can get 100mph + if I build and mod clever, and zero cheap crappy Amazon tyres

    I bought a TLR a couple months back, and I absolutely love this car! I’ve upgraded quite a few parts already. Front/rear hot racing diff housings and bulkheads, Arrma 1.0 mod metal center diff, hot racing Diff cover, center aluminum braces, changed Diff oils, a full length center brace. I’m using mine for racing only…:)

    I took my 3s Typhon and upgraded it to perform pretty close to these two. Only difference is I decided to go with the spectrum 130amp esc with 1900kv motor. Threw in steel diffs, steel spur and it runs really good. Put a 20 tooth pinion in there and I’m getting 55mph on 4s.

      Nice! The Typhons are great i had a Mega and upgraded it with a 130a firma system it was a ripper i just put a few of the 3s parts in it.

    The Typhon 6s platform is fantastic. Losi just tweaked what was already a great basher. Out of the box the TLR needs work to make it competitive on the track however, a dedicated race Ebuggy/8th scale will smoke it for performance on a track.

    • @TexasBasherRC
      @TexasBasherRC  Před rokem +1

      Good to know. I don't see myself ever really getting competitive with it other than maybe with a few friends. I've been to some of those buggy races and its insane the control and speed they have on the track.

    Damn those wheels are 🔥🔥🔥 for the price! I’ve actually been eyeballing the Badland MX2’s for my Typhon but these look like they’d perform very similarly for 1/3 the price

    Hello, Mud gards save bearings so much. Also TLR version is much more adjustable for specific track. I have Typhon 6S, but hesitate about buy TLR version roller, without electronic also and left old Typhon for the spare parts and move electronic to the TLR version. TLR version with 6S is for really good price, its true :-)

    I picked up similar wheels/tires from Amazon. The white dish ones. They've held up well in our backyard track but I'm running 4s batteries. A lot of the reviews said that they'd blow out on 6s.

    • @TexasBasherRC
      @TexasBasherRC  Před rokem

      They're good, but they will blow out. My first set i blew one bashing, and it ripped so it was a gone. And this set the glue came loose on one of them running 6s but i hit all of them with some fresh glue, and they have been good since. Thanks for watching.

    So the TLR is actually lighter and the aluminum is a bit weaker not stronger but it’s better if you ask me .. i love my v5 and my tuned lightweight racer but my v5 gets bashed hard .. i send that thing to the moon on every run at my ramp .. but my tlr i try to keep it on the track so I don’t bend anything.. I also have a Hpi Savage with a 28 big block “pico” I run backyard basher nitro in it .. when that motor is tuned in perfectly it’s still a really fun truck and the SavageXL is tough as nails and I think I have a Rossi 32 somewhere.. I also have a Cen buggy and the Revo.. a 3.3 Rustler and the Hotbodies lightning Truggy .. I got the 6s arma talon and the 8s Kraken.. I have a little money into all of em as well .. atleast I only have one remote for em all or I’d lose remotes 😂

      I would go with the regular version after driving both for a while ive found that they can both handle a bash, there is no need for all the extra aluminum parts other than the looks.

    so im in the market for either the TLR RTR or the 3s Typhon and what's holding me back from going for the TLR version is that I heard the stock 6s version had issues holding two 3s hardcase batteries. I'm using spektrum 3s 5000Mah 100c batteries.
    Do you know of the TLR is able to without the body having issues clipped in?

    • @TexasBasherRC
      @TexasBasherRC  Před 3 měsíci

      I haven't tried those batteries. I have a set of Zee 3s 6500 soft case batteries that fit well without the body having issues, but even with my Zee 6S soft case battery if i dont have the cables just right it will push the body a little.

    • @TexasBasherRC
      @TexasBasherRC  Před rokem

      In this, i mostly run one 6S battery. The battery tray is pretty big, so u can fit all different batteries in it. The main thing u need to look out for is that with the real big batteries, they may rub the body on the inside. I have run 2 3S batteries before, as well as a 4S.

      No it doesn't come with any fans. i've sense put a set of fans on it just because but for the most part on the stock gearing running 6s i have yet to need a fan it gets a little warm but nothing i was worried about.
