Great video. FYI, take advantage of my 5 year experiment. I spent a lot of money doing a trial and error of toppers. I’ve tried Rene of Paris, Jon Renau, Paula Young, Raquel Welch, and many, many more. To date, I’ve always come back to Ellen Wille and this is why. The quality is exceptional. Many toppers are too thick and a dead giveaway. Ellen Wille density is less bulky. The cap is comfortable and covers much of the crown of the head. I don’t really need a lace front because I wear bangs but Ellen Wille lace fronts are beautiful and nice to have if I decide to wear my hair off my face. I usually sew a few more clips in my pieces for more security but that’s a personal choice. Yes, Ellen Wille is more expensive but now that I’ve finished my trial and error project, I feel I’ve got pieces that I’ll wear consistently which justifies spending the money. I gave away those that didn’t work for me. I have gray hair and her grays are the best I’ve found. They hold up for a long time. I try not to shampoo them too much because this shortens their life. Sounds nasty, but you don’t really need a lot of product if you have a good piece. When I decided I don’t like full wigs, I made toppers out of them. Easy to do. All in all, after 5 years of trial and error and a lot of money, I’ve decided to stick with Ellen Wille. Sometimes it takes a little longer to get Ellen Wille because she is in Europe, but I know that when I order. So as you can tell, I’m an Ellen Wille fan. I haven’t been paid to write this either and I’m not a doctor, I just play one on TV!!! Seriously though, I’m just an ordinary customer giving you an honest opinion to help you make an educated decision. No compensation involved in any way! Good luck.
I totally agree with you. I’ve also tried many other brands and they can’t compare to Ellen Wille. Yes they cost more, but I feel they are so worth it. As for wigs, they drove me crazy at the nape of my neck with itching so I have made toppers out of most of mine. The comfort level is so amazing, I don’t even feel them on my head. One thing that I wish though with toppers is that they are too long at 12 inches and I have to trim them to go with my shorter bio hair which is around 5 to 6 inches. I’ve been contemplating the Fizz topper and have only seen two reviews. One was positive on Wig Studio 1 Support Group and the other on You Tube by Lauren which was not. So the jury is still out as to whether I’ll get it. I am impressed with this one that Jill is reviewing Effect. I like that it has layers and I could trim it shorter, maybe?

An alternative to Fill In Powder is to use an inexpensive matte eye shadow (brown shade for me) applied with a similar thick brush. I love your tips, Jill. Thank you so much. 😍

This topper is beautiful on you Jill. I got Ellen Wille's 'Just' a few months ago and really like it. It has a smaller cap (3x5.25) and is shorter in length than Effect but since my own hair is longer (hair salons being closed) I've been looking at other toppers. Effect is gorgeous, thank you for this video💕
I have a million dollar suggestion for you to keep your topper solidly attached, without front combs! Use a halo wire in lieu of combs. Some of UniWigs toppers have that feature and it works great!

Beautiful topper, Jill. I just bought a JR Top Level and anticipate quite a bit of modifications to it before it is wearable. It's very thick on the top and will need to be thinned out. Effect looks much more natural with the lace front and thinner density. Thanks so much for reviewing it. This will be my next topper :-)
Beautiful color on you! To help with your topper's security, sew 2 clips more to the front of your forehead where you have more hair there. It will also feel so much better! Love your videos!

I love Bernstein Rooted and Light Bernstein Rooted for my wigs but with a topper I’m going with Mocca Rooted to blend better with my bio hair. So glad I found this video to view prior to receiving this topper.

I just received this one and like it a lot, very comfortable. My only issue is the lace front doesn't sit flat, so I'm going to try wig tape. I don't like glue. I trimmed about 2" off the length as I don't like hair past my shoulders. The fibers are amazing.
I love your videos they are do comprehensive and in-depth. I have onky owned one wig and it was ages ago. They have come a long way ......I really dont have a long neck actually quite the opposite..... Wondering if they give the measurements of the hair length from the crown

I love these toppers. They cover my thinning hair perfectly. Do you prefer toppers or wigs? I just wondered. Thank you for all your great videos. Also your makeup videos are fantastic. I always appreciate the information you provide and have had good luck toppers you have reviewed. This topper is way too small, doesn't fit a regular size head, and because of that, the hump at the top makes my head look weird. Not a great clip placement design, either. Wished it had been a better fit because I don't have any lace front toppers. I will look forward to future videos if you get more lace front toppers.

I wish I had seen this before I cut my hair (whatever is left) short to accommodate my RW Fun 'n Flirty wig. You do such a great job with your videos. Would you, or have you, considered rating the wig brands from 1-10?? I love some of Ellen Wille's looks, but my wig stylist isn't familiar with her brand.

Thank you for showing what I need to buy. That said, my hair is very much zebra hair at the moment. All gray in the front (a nice gray, thankfully), and then the lower half is brown and the upper half is graying. In the Before Times, my hair stylist was adding ashy low lights to help me transition to full gray-I started getting pretty gray at 40-but I haven’t had color now for almost 2 years because it’s not as though I can bleach the brown. Also, my hair is frizzy and I live in Portland, so I can never get it fully straight; it always has some frizz. Can I still wear a topper or should I wear a wig? I have “hot head,” which is why I’d rather not do a full wig. In fact, when I go out and about walking to the store or wherever, I usually clip up my hair to keep it off my neck, which causes the hot head to be at its worst. Like you, my hair loss is mostly in the front.

I can’t tell if the blonde colors are too dark or if rooted. The online outlets only display models with darker hair and only a small amount of blonde color not the entire piece. Any advice?

I was wearing top notch for years but now have switched to easipart XL- give it a try! It’s really believable and not too much hair

I wish I had seen this before I cut my hair (whatever is left) short to accommodate my RW Fun 'n Flirty wig. You do such a great job with your videos. Would you, or have you, considered rating the wig brands from 1-10?? I love some of Ellen Wille's looks, but my wig stylist isn't familiar with her brand.

hi great videos ❤ can you recomend a topper like the colours in this for a just above shoulder length shaggy.bob ( cur hair before cold capping on 7 or 13 taxol...hair really thin all over and my grey roots are awful 😢 x or wld a full wig be best

It looks so gorgeous on you. I want to order this topper (with your code). It looks quite warm in colour on you but on other videos it looks a lot cooler in colour. I want it to be more warm than cool. Sorry to ask but did you enhance the colour on the video to make it look warmer? I don't want to waste my money if it turns out too cool. Thank you

Do u leave the lace on, or cut it out? I’m so paranoid someone will see it. That’s the only reason I haven’t bought one yet. If ur standing right in front of someone couldn’t they see the lace? It does look great on you!

Thank you for showing what I need to buy. That said, my hair is very much zebra hair at the moment. All gray in the front (a nice gray, thankfully), and then the lower half is brown and the upper half is graying. In the Before Times, my hair stylist was adding ashy low lights to help me transition to full gray-I started getting pretty gray at 40-but I haven’t had color now for almost 2 years because it’s not as though I can bleach the brown. Also, my hair is frizzy and I live in Portland, so I can never get it fully straight; it always has some frizz. Can I still wear a topper or should I wear a wig? I have “hot head,” which is why I’d rather not do a full wig. In fact, when I go out and about walking to the store or wherever, I usually clip up my hair to keep it off my neck, which causes the hot head to be at its worst. Like you, my hair loss is mostly in the front.

Questions? How long can one expect a topper to last with wearing almost daily? How often do you shampoo? Heat friendly? to what kinds of styling tools? I am totally new to toppers and synthetics. Jill, I'm torn on the color to choose. My hair is very light brown. Do you have a couple suggestions?
I can’t tell if the blonde colors are too dark or if rooted. The online outlets only display models with darker hair and only a small amount of blonde color not the entire piece. Any advice?
