How do you find a topper close to the color of you hair? Mine is mixed gray and dark blonde.
Not sure how I came across your channel, but I love it! I live in Australia and good wigs and advice are hard to come by. I’ve been looking for a topper for so long to match my mousey brown and grey. I didn’t want to risk the high cost and get it wrong. Last week I found a Jon Reneau on eBay cheap in colour 38 or milkshake. I think it’s called and it’s the perfect colour. After watching your videos I really want a Belle tress but hard to choose the colour from pictures would you have any idea what the colour might be similar to the 38 Jon Renau ?
Have you compared the colors Nutmeg-F and Pecan? It’s so difficult to determine what shade they are on screen

In your opinion, which brand has the best fibres for a topper. I have naturally wavy hair so it’s not fine and silky so finding a topper that blends in with my hair texture is tricky. I’m considering Belle Tress and other brands. I prefer a fuller piece with mono top and lace front. Please advise 🙏🏼💕
I have 3 wigs and alternate them when I join friends at a particular restaurant. We often get the same server and she complements me and I thank her and say, it’s a wig. She told me not to say anything because no one will know. Now when she comments on a wig she gives me a look that says, “don’t tell me it’s a wig”. Now I just say thank you.
A lot of times they are looking at you because they are admiring your hair! I got so many compliments on my JR Palm Springs wig! Everyone loves the color and style of 'my hair' 😊

I’m now 36 and the past few years my already thinner/fine hair has thinned even more and my hairline has receded tremendously. While I enjoy wigs, I loved the idea of toppers since I still have my bio hair but it’s thin and most wigs are just too dense. What color did you get? I'm a light blonde and struggle with looking like barbie hair and rooted hair doesn't look right sense in so fair.
@@lidip8700 yeah. Hard to find right color in belle tress unless you get rooted. Boca margarita blond was best for me in a wig. The root is lighter.

You and I are blessed enough to have the hair on the sides and back to pull out and blend. I feel like a little old man because I have male-pattern baldness. I do have some on top but not near enough to go out in public. I have decided after so many disappointments that I am going to wear human hair. It doesn't tangle in the back like the synthetics do and boy oh boy, with my wig grip, I can actually comb my hair in public if I need to. I try not to and am very careful when I do bring out the comb. I'm looking for a topper for my mother. Our poor family was cursed with hair loss on both sides. My father's sister and my mother and now me for the last ten or more years. It's been so long I can't even remember. Mine started when my hot flashes came on and I kid you not, it was almost all gone within 2 weeks. I had to throw on a ball cap and begin the wig shopping. I had NO idea what I was doing and I was buying wigs from Asian beauty supply shops. Then I actually got a little smarter and started the search on the internet. So many tears were shed and I thought I would just have to settle. One day I got a phone call from an old friend who had a mutual friend who gave her my number hoping I could help guide her through it. She has a lot more money than I do and I informed her of what was out there and what I knew she could afford and what to avoid. Well, a package came in the mail for me one day and it was a human hair wig from this woman! She knew what I was looking for after all the phone conversations and from knowing me from years back. It was the best wig I had ever had and I felt like myself for the first time in years! My husband was in tears because it looked so good! I can make one last for 3 yrs by not wearing it at home and using good products on it. I realize that most of us don't have that kind of money, but when you think about how much you spend on replacing wigs, it all adds up and in my opinion, human hair is well worth it. I do have to admit that I got a jump start with the wig that was gifted to me and I was able to start my wig fund and had no idea how long this wig was going to last me. I apologize for the short book I wrote here. What I was actually trying to ask you was, do you or have you tried any human hair toppers? I am desperately searching for one for my mother. I love both of these on you! My mom wants Human hair after watching all that I went through and has finally decided to take the leap. Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Have a lovely weekend!

Such an awesome demonstration of how you use the wig grip Jill! I also use a ponytail to anchor the grip and wig at the back AND add two little horns on top to anchor the wig grip at the front. That wig ain't budging even in a cyclone! 🤣

I have tried every brand of wig grip under the sun. This is the one I settled on 2 yrs ago. Adjustable; washable; comfortable. Wish I had not wasted time on others i.e., that silicon one with the nubbies that cut into my scalp, oh myy!

Hi Jill, thanks to you, I have finally found my perfect hair topper. I bought this Belle Tress topper in Champagne and Apple Pie. Love it. It’s a fantastic fit. Not too voluminous, which would have made me look like a Judge! My husband loves it! Your video helped me decide. I bought many mistakes, trying not to spend much! Wasted my money. This one is a clear winner. Belle Tress is a fantastic choice for someone with light to moderate hair loss. I can wear with confidence. ❤

WoW! You are naturally gorgeous ....and I wondered why you were reviewing wigs when you have such pretty, and very shiny natural hair. The wig makes you look 10 yrs younger ... & I agree that it gives you a beautiful natural look, as opposed to so many women that I see who have obviously gone wild with hair extensions! You're obviously an experienced model, so it's really lovely to see someone like you sharing your experience with the rest of us. Yes, I consider models as the 'them' because not only have you been blessed with beauty, style & poise, but you've also learned a few 'tricks of the trade' along the way, because I see the rest of us as the 'us'.
I've just come across your video by accident and I'm definitely one of those people who has never given thought to wigs, and I've certainly never noticed anyone wearing them. However, until about 10 years ago, I needed treatment on the chemo ward a few days every month for over 15 years ... and in those days, wigs were really the same as you'd expect a child Barbie doll to change into.
I now I know why many women in the media, etc of my age (70) have such fabulous looking hair! Mine has thinned out over the last 5 years, not as though I have very thinning patches like my mother did, but if I last another 5 years or so, I may consider something like this for special occasions. My amazing hairdressing salon has just closed recently and I'm scared to try a new one, so my hair is in a pony tail during the hottest & most humid part of an Australian sub-tropical, coastal Summer. My hair is between grey/white, like your natural colour, but the coloured part is the same blonde colour as the front of your wig. Do you ever use a pommade on the forehead area around your wig? I'm just wondering if the line around your forehead & where the wig meets would be more noticeable than around the side of the face? Do you have a different colour that you'd use for that area around your face, especially as that's a very blonde colour in comparison to the darker colour at the sides?
I'd like to know if wigs are uncomfortable in warm to hot climates? How many wigs do people usually have in their cupboards? At what stage does one decide to bite the bullet and wear wigs? Do you put your wig on before or after your foundation?

Hi Jill. I am the small percentage of people who can spot a wig, weave, topper, etc…lol
You are correct in saying that the majority of people do Not know. With that being said, have you ever thought to yourself….I could go the extra mile in making my wigs or toppers look even more realistic? Meaning using some tweezers (maybe one of your units that you don’t go too anymore) to practice on to remove some of that extra hair so that the Monofilament can really show the realistic scalp look. If so then here’s how to do it:
1. Make the part of where you want and feel comfortable with.
2. Now from that part make a 1/4 of an inch part from the original part that you’ve just made.
3. Start gently and randomly plucking/removing some of the hairs in a zig zag motion, and not so close to the previously removed hair.(this will make the hair on top lay down smoother and more natural in order to enhance the Monofilament.
4. You can also remove directly on the original part of the company made part, but keep in mind that if you pull too much out in a certain area it will be difficult to cover up. (Hence why I suggest doing this under the part. (This can also be done to the lace fronts, but again you always want to remove hair 1/4 of an inch from the beginning of the lace so that the appearance of hairline/scalp looks even more realistic.

I can always tell when I’m ‘clocked’ for wearing a wig- they start staring at my lace front. The grids and transition line gives it away. I totally agree that the shading powder around the baby hairs helps a great deal. So does dry shampoo in Color - helps hide grids in the part if needed
You can either use a foundation powder or liquid on the underside of the lace to color camouflage the knots, grid, also you can pluck 1/4 from the start of the lace (so from the lace make a part that’s approximately 1/4 away) and then start removing/plucking some random hairs in a zig zag motion making sure to spread out-not so close..so that it will lay flatter and not look so dense in the front hairline…many wig wearers are clocked because the wigline doesn’t look like a natural hairline because the factory seems to make them to dense. I hope this helps.
Honestly now-a-days I don't focus on that stuff anymore (when it comes to paying attention if someone is scrutinizing my hair). You have to remember that most people don't know what lace-fronts are, and or have the time or desire to truly go into Sherlock Holmes mode. ;) I also want to add that in my experience leaving the lace alone, and not "doing" anything to them such as adding makeup, powders etc... is the best way. The brands I share with you all ...that lace is designed to disappear into the any skin tone. When mine are not longer doing that...it's because the lace has my makeup on it. I clean my lacing much more often than I wash my wig. Another issue that may be occurring, is if you wear your pieces a little too far done onto the forehead. This is not where they are designed to lay....so, it can bring attention to the lace. Another tip to help with those perfect knots...do the little circles over them and press down to the temples...keep doing that in different areas (gently) and each time you do that through it's life (haha) it will help disturb the perfect knotting.

Jill, I've noted when you do your spins, many of the pieces have like a round ball like thing towards the bottom. The hair comes down normal looking, then it sort of makes a big under curl.hopefully I'm explaining it so you understand what I'm saying. Do you know what causes that? Does it go away? I wish I had known that my own bio hair was suppose to go over the topper if it wasn't a lace front. Like you, my hair is thinning at the front, so as I try to comb my few hairs over my topper (non lace front), it just looks bad.
So tonight I decided to cut bangs to help hide where the topper begins and hide my thin hair in front.
Tmrrw I'll be air brushing it for the first time. (Just got the one v you suggested.)

This base is a little small for me, so I made a topper with a larger base out of the Peerless wig, and I LOVE it!

I have been watching so many videos on toppers and many of yours too , and I think the topper you have here is just the one I would really like to purchase for my first hair enhancer- but does it come in real hair ? I am afraid the synthetic might be too shiny ? But, the convenience of just propping it on your bio hair and walking out the door sounds heavenly! Would a human hair topper have that same memory style built in?
First Jill you’re so beautiful Inside and out! I’ve been super emotional and teary this passed year, taking supplements, red light helmet, collagen powder, HRT, scalp stimulation etc. 😢 All the while my hair keeps thinning after going into menopause.
In this video, we have about the same amount of bio hair and slightly receding hairline. All this to say you’ve given me so much hope!!! I have a Belle Tress Bulletproof in the same Brown Sugar Sweet Cream. The lace front does not lay flat. Have you ever had that happen? How do you get it to look right? Thanks for any advice you can offer!
I don't know what this wig is made out of and usually go for human hair toppers but this looks amazing...It does help that this lady has a gorgeous face but that topper looks fabulous on her....All I want to know is, are there any discount codes lol...? I do know that I have subscribed, this lady is wonderful...x

Jill your real hair color is really dark compared to the topper color, will you color your hair so it blends better? Also when you wash toppers do you turn them upside down to hang to dry?
Hi Darlene! No, I won't color my hair. Once I smooth and curl my hair a bit to match the topper it'll blend in, and work just fine! I don't feel you have to match a topper perfectly or sometimes even closely for it to work. I like the contrast actually. BUT it doesn't look good as I explained because I did nothing to prep my hair for this topper.

Silverstone color from other brands are complimentary. Which grey color from Belle Tress is similar to Silverstone? Another question I have is about the color Roca Margarita. I have 2 toppers in Roca Margarita Blonde, and the color is kind of a transition between blonde and gray/ silver. It has a lighter neutral root, blending into a mixture of pale silver and ash blonde shades. It blends well with my light/ Med. ash blonde hair, shot through with white.
I just ordered a wig in Coconut Silver Blonde, which I haven’t seen yet, but reviews show that it’s very similar to Roca Margarita Blonde, but it isn’t a rooted shade. It also seems to have more pure white highlights. Can’t wait to get it! 🎉
Sometimes I’ll use permanent Copic markers in shades of light/ Med. taupe on my platinum wigs to add a light ashy root and lowlights. It takes some time (I do about 10 minutes at a time, 3 times), but it looks fabulous- like the color of a tow-headed child or a natural platinum blonde (like my dad). 🙂 You can get the Copic markers in a ton of different shades, to match any color desired.
