  • Learn how Vetiver systems benefit Hawai'i and other warm areas by stopping soil erosion, stabilizing slopes, clarifying coastal waters, and protecting reefs. With fibrous roots penetrating vertically to 12-15', Vetiver grass is sterile and non-invasive, and enjoys a highly favorable -8 PIER/HEAR rating!

It depends on whether other delicious forage is available. When the grass is young, it's an edible crop; as Vetiver matures, it becomes thatch-like and largely unpalatable, UNLESS there's no other forage available.
