Please note: While this historic military ASMR draws inspiration from actual events that took place during the Second World War, the strategies, tactics, and characters described have been fictionalised to make for a more relaxing experience.
    "Service, not self."
Today marks the centenary of The Royal British Legion, a UK charity that provides financial, social and emotional support to members and veterans of the British Armed Forces and their families. If you're from a small town in the UK, you probably remember going for a drink for club prices down t'Legion - but it's so much more than just a place for veterans to chat and keep company. It represents a group of people who fought so that we didn't have to. If you'd like to learn more, visit their website and support them by purchasing a poppy.
It's also been just over 20 since lifting the military's LGBTQ+ ban - so, please, celebrate with me the stories of brave people who sacrificed themselves while hiding who they were. And let us hope that we learn from history.
I suppose this is, in a way, the spiritual sequel to my World War 1 ASMR video. That video was, really, more of a musing on the futility of war, and the sacrifices of those who fought to protect our freedom. If you haven’t already watched that one, you can here: • World War 1 ASMR Engli...
This one’s a bit chirpier. It’s a World War 2 ASMR RAF roleplay and is more of a reflection on pride, patriotism, and protecting people against oppressive forces. I spend some time gently looking over a map, providing lots of paper and leather glove sounds, as I explain the upcoming air mission to you in a soft-spoken manner. I then perform some embarrassingly bad and confusing semaphore, where my stomach goes absolutely nuts, before launching into a meditative rumination on the price of freedom and the human cost of securing liberty for future generations. It ends on a similar, but more personal, note of hope in face of adversity.
I really hope you enjoy this video. It is in no way intended to cause offence or make light of tragic historical events, but is instead created out of complete respect for those who sacrificed their lives so that I could enjoy the freedom I am blessed with to make it.
    Thank you.

Well you did it SJ. You made this garrulous old bird speechless! 😂 I think you just won yourself a prize. 😉 This is on a whole other level my friend, you’ve turned ASMR into art. It’s becoming more immersive and the longer your videos get, the more I feel like I’m watching a movie. That said, I hope you’re taking enough time for yourself, making these videos super long is basically giving us the equivalent of your old upload schedule. Whilst it’s wonderful and I’m sure greatly appreciated, it’s not good if it’s to your detriment. I applaud your subject choice and fully expected you to be thoughtful and sensitive because that’s who you are. That end though, was something else. I did not imagine for one second the sharp left turn you were about to take and knowing how you ad lib everything you film I have to wonder, did you? That speech was straight from the heart, honest, emotional and extremely touching. It takes guts ( no pun intended ), to tell the world what you believe in, especially now when we seem surrounded on every side by the exact thing so fiercely fought against in the past. We’ve come so far in some respects and lagged behind in so many others. Thankfully, I know the world is full of people just like you and some other amazing people I know, ( you know who you are 🥰)and that alone gives me hope for the future.🤗🤗

Reading about strategic bombing is interesting. Towards the end of the war, they mostly wouldn't be intercepted. But when they were, they were usually in a lot of danger. What the luftwaffe had left were mostly aces. Aces in jets with canons. And the flying fortresses weren't invincible. Luckily, ground flak was the usual issue, and not much of an issue at that point.
