Take a moment to realize how the flashbacks with Freddie in them have their color scheme altered to a warmer, brighter hue. However, the rest of the video (of the band playing the song) are all cold and grey.

I love how Queen dedicated this song not just to their main singer, their leader or something like that... But to a lost friend. And that's really beautiful and heartbreaking at the same time.
Freddie is now flying so high, "so close to the sun" and I'm sure he is proud of Queen and of us, the fans who never forget him and keep his amazing legacy alive.
It wasn’t dedicated to Freddie alone. Brian had said in an interview that although he was an inspiration, other people/friends that had passed on young were just as part; Princess Diana being a big one. It’s nice to see Freddie in the video. It did have other meaning, though 💖

“ who cares when I die, I know I won’t”
29 years later and everyone still cares , Freddie we still care.
I do too when freddie died I believe the world should have stopped
Nobody really close to me has passed away... He’s the reason I want heaven to be real. I want to see him perform
Lori Massacci yea that is true but Freddie stopped so many people from killing themselves and that has to count for something though I’ve never read the Bible (I’m not Christian)
Lori Massacci he stated in an interview that he would prefer to go to hell anyway
Emily Back I don’t really think it’s a choice... But if he did worship the devil I’m actually gonna cry when if I get to heaven
2:44 Brian: And now the party must be over
Freddie in heaven: You idiots, i say clearly "The Show Must Go On"!
The show must go on is Bryan's song
Dire AAAYYYYYYOOOOOHHHH
"The party must be over" veut dire qu'ils sont encore sous le choc de la mort de Freddie. C'est le même effet quand vous perdez un proche, vous n'y croyez pas. Puis la fin du couplet est magnifique, même s'il n'est plus là physiquement, il l'est toujours dans leurs pensées.
Dire hahaha 👍😂
Lebrun Kévin no
A hand above the water
An angel reaching for the sky
Is it raining in heaven
Do you want us to cry?
And everywhere the broken-hearted
On every lonely avenue
No-one could reach them
No-one but you

Only the Good die young
They're only flying too close to the sun
And life goes on -
Without you...
Another Tricky Situation
I get to drowin' in the Blues
And I find myself thinkin'
Well - what would you do?
Yes! - it was such an operation
Forever paying every due
Hell, you made a sensation
You found a way through - and
One by one
Only the Good die young
They're only flyin' too close to the sun
We'll remember
Forever...
And now the party must be over
I guess we'll never understand
The sense of your leaving
Was it the way it was planned?
And so we grace another table
And raise our glasses one more time
There's a face at the window
And I ain't never, never sayin' goodbye...

Only the Good die young
They're only flyin' too close to the sun
Cryin' for nothing

OK FOR ONCE I WAS GOING TO MAKE OT THROUGH THIS SONG WITHOUT CRYING AND YOU RUINED IT😭😭😂
John's demeanor in this whole video makes me sad. A few years of losing Freddie and he looked like a whole different person. You can tell he really missed his friend.
John Deacon was so upset by Freddie’s death. He only stayed for one more album: Made in Heaven. After that, Brian May wrote this. It was the last song that John Deacon ever recorded with Queen. Shortly afterwards, John left the band. Believing that Freddie was what made the band what it was and without him: Queen is nothing. And that is just heart wrenching
Deacon adored Freddie. When he died, it literally broke him.

There is no Queen without Freddie... Hell, there is no queen without any of the four.
So people want Brian and Roger just to sit at home. Looking outside there window thinking how much fun they still could have on stage but they just sit at home doing nothing... not having fun and loving what you do. I would rather die... They did a good job finding Adam. Freddie would love if he could see this

This had to have been a very hard song to put together. It says it all. They were all very raw at the time. They all went thru a very serious depression. But, fate was to intervene. Samee😭💔
It was a reason leading to suicidal thoughts. His love life (as in Too Much Love Will Kill You), his father's death, followed by Freddie's, and years of Rock N Roll lifestyle, the last of which everyone had their tolls of by that time, but it was just to Brian that many things happened all at once at the moment. Glad he managed to pull himself together.
Roger was deeply depressed also. These men truly loved one another. They had a friendship not many of us experience.
Queen is more than just a band, they are a family. Freddie's death really affected them all. That's love
Agree. Because they felt so close to each other, Queen is so enormous, even today. When Freddie passed ,also Mary went through hard times. They all did. I also think Bri and Rog are still very close to John, even they don't admit It. It's the way to protect the shy John. They did the same with Freddie's disease : a couple of months after his death, Bri and Rog said they knew about his illness only 6 months before. But in the movie Freddie tells them the situation several years before his passing. And everybody kept the secret to protect him. So, I think they are currently protecting John's privacy, but he must be much more closer than what they admit.😉
@@connysari8342 thats right, even roger said in an interview people would ask if freddie was sick and they all said no ( to protect him and his family).1 reporter followed freddie ( without him knowing) to the hospital and took pictures of him coming out which really pissed the band off.

Now I understand why John did not want to continue ...
In its place I would not have done it either ...
see them play without Freddie, with that emptiness that destroys you inside, let's try to live something like that, the Queen ended up with Freddie's death and nobody can ever replace him or reform the band...
I think Brian and Rodger understood him quitting the band. They just have a hard time with the fact they lost John's friendship. They could still be friends even if they do not play music together.
Agree
honestly, i understand that, but i still like that brian and roger continue to perform.
of course theres no replacing freddie... no one could ever stand in his place.
but the fact that queen's legacy still lives on,,,
i mean, i dont think freddie would have wanted them to just quit playing because of his death. he would've wanted them to live their lives, carry on, and uphold his memory. i think they're doing a pretty darn good job of it. after the loss of freddie, they were strong, they couldnt just say "yeah queen is over guys time to go home", even if that was what they wanted to do (and im sure it was).
There's an interview out there of Freddie saying how he would want the group to continue without him, whether he was dead or quit the band. And they are doing exactly that.
I think he left the band because Freddie was kind with him and when Freddie died he was so sad that he didn’t want to continue

@@bluesilverdurandurantribut8800 Actually, you're quite wrong. They fought a lot in the studio as they had strong opposing personalities (mostly Freddie, Brian, and Roger) but they were certainly friends. ESPECIALLY after Freddie became sick. Watch the "These are the Days Of Our Lives" documentary. Brian and Roger narrate how close the four became after '87 when Freddie's situation became worse.
Just look at John. The reason he retired was he was too affected by Freddie's death. There are even recent interviews where they speak of how much they miss him and how they regret he's not here still. There are literally tons of other examples. You don't conquer the world together and not love each other.
@@jameshetfield5382 well, Deacon was obvioslly Freddie's closest member of the band and I'm prettty sure Mercury's illness pull emotionally toghether the band. Anyway all that "family" feeling is to me a bit extreme. They were all decent and intelligent people so they quite got along very well but Deacon not speaking with anyone of the rest of the band ( as you can easlily find) said to me that they were friends, not a "family". But anyway this is my opinion, no one knows for sure, so I may be wrong
RIP David Bowie
Say hi to Freddie for us
Together making beautiful music.....just wish I could hear it....one day.
+mousstard
I reckon when Bowie went to the pearly gates, Freddie ran over, hugged him and said,
My dear, let's make some fucking music!
+mousstard Heaven has gathered quite the house band.
+Bartman954 all dead ppl are sleeping now waiting the judgment day. only saints are praying for us and for the dead. no "non saint" deceased is doing nothing now.
+Elie Nehme And there is no way for us to know who are saints and non-saints...for we are not the judge.
32 Years ago today.
Unbelievable such a long time ago.
I miss him and he passed away 14 years before I was born. He is the Legend of all time. No other singer could replace him.
This Guy Freddie Merucry is the only true key to my heart. Rest in Peace Freddie 🙏🏽🤍
Queen will never be the same as it was but in our hearts and I'm sure Freddie is looking down to us all. ❤ We'll keep is legacy alive forever!
A beautiful song dedicated to not only the lead singer but there big brother too. Queen really has been a kind of magic and will remain that way forever, thank you for sharing your gift with the world. This is also the last time deacon played with the band
“Is it raining in heaven?” Get’s me every time, and I don’t know what it is.
Same
I won't be a rock star. I will be a legend
-Freddie Mercury
He really kept his word.
Well he wasn’t wrong
Freddie will be a beautiful rock star in heaven we Love you
Rock stars come and go --- legends live forever
no he will not be a rock star but a legend
I love this song 🎵 😢it is so bittersweet to think about what Fŕeddy would be doing & beautiful music he would be making. I can only imagine that Freddy would be up in heaven singing for the Angles❤
RIP Freddy, love you Darling ❤
Queen Forever!
Adam Lambert & Queen Forever.❤❤❤❤
Yes, it is bittersweet to think about what FREDDIE would be doing!
Freddy was a miracle no one can compare to him rip Freddy and all the innocent people that died before their time 😢
3:48 you can tell Deacy's kinda thinking "As soon as this song is done, so am I"
Same thoughts 🤧😔
And so are we
Totally agree.
I know right!!!
…
Lyrics:
A hand above the water
An angel reaching for the sky
Is it raining in Heaven -
Do you want us to cry?
And everywhere the broken-hearted
On every lonely avenue
No-one could reach them
No-one but you
One by one
Only the Good die young
They're only flyin' too close to the sun
And life goes on -
Without you...
Another Tricky Situation
I get to drownin' in the Blues
And I find myself thinkin'
Well - what would you do?
Yea! - it was such an operation
Forever paying every due
Hell, you made a sensation
You found a way through - and
One by one
Only the Good die young
They're only flyin' too close to the sun
We'll remember -
Forever...
And now the party must be over
I guess we'll never understand
The sense of your leaving
Was it the way it was planned?
And so we grace another table
And raise our glasses one more time
There's a face at the window
And I ain't never, never sayin' goodbye...
One by one
Only the Good die young
They're only flyin' too close to the sun
Cryin' for nothing
Cryin' for no-one
No-one but you
MANY THANKS
Ciao
Thank you for the lyrics.
Love the song.
This song shows how much the band is missing Freddie.
I think Freddie would have liked the band united making presentation to the world until the body endures.
I'm crying like a freaking baby I feel useless I feel like I failed Freddie memory by doing this
So I just realized the song is the message for Freddie Mercury that he had to leaves us that fast
This song, along with Roger's "Old Friends" are my 'go to listening ', every 24 November.
Actually Roger's entire "Happiness" album elicits my tears for Freddie, for our loss. You see, I feel Roger's mourning thoughts come thru in many of those songs - and Freddie sought love and 'happiness' (with all he had)easily could have inspired much of Roger's album. Them trying to get the heavy piano into the upstairs room....'happy days' to think about.
Freddie forever 💖
Sooo, who's impressed with how good Brian and Roger's vocals are?!
Me as it is beautiful
They are great after all these years.❤❤❤❤
Dianna Brown this is from 1997
Not surprised that their vocals are good.
I like Rogers
Who else got emotional?
theartistknownasprincevevo me 😢
The sence of your leaving 😢
Yep
Can’t watch this without tearing up...you can tell They’re really missing him
This makes me teary eyed 😿
Freddie Mercury lives in every heart who has been touched by his majestic existence. I will always love him for his excellent work and the impression he had on me. Forever Freddie.
This Song makes stones cry. Ah Freddie, where ever You are, You got no idea how much, we still miss you.
Who else is sitting here watching this on Freddie’s Anniversary and crying?
I am 😕. You're not alone!
Me. I do not know why I do this to myself.. .
Coincidental, its November 25 right now.
Me, I took my girlfriend to Garden Lodge this morning. It was a little surreal, standing outside the house where he lived. We miss him...
I'm staring at the rain and shedding a silent tear for the fallen Freddie Bowie George Michael
Several detail that killed me: 1.Deaky. Being there with sad face. 2. The Icarus reference weaved in. 3. The reference to their first album Queen at the end. 4. Bri playing piano.
Can you explain me the reference please?
5. Freddie's wine glasses on the piano
Why is this stuff killing u? Just wondering
Dur de regarder et d'écouter sans verser une larme mais il n'y a pas qu'à nous qu'il manque ... a eux aussi ... très bel hommage a un ami disparu. Freddie restera éternel.
If they could have convinced JD to sing a partial verse….would have meant 100x more
You know you have the greatest band when your guitarist and drummer can sing high notes
Game Freak and they sing so beautifully and so heartfelt.
I know right
Kinda never knew how good Brian's voice was --- it surprised me
@@billbelzek6748 same

@@Q83RT Same

A legend never die
Indeed, a legend never dies.
Brian did say in the Mercury Tribute Concert that he is not very good at the piano, but he did his best here. For Him.
Teo Torriatte can’t forget their singing... sorry John.
In 1991 the world lost a legend
RIP Freddie Mercury
We love you ❤😭
Yes, yes we did we will treasure that legend forever. And we have to be greatful we were left with his voice.
😿😿😿😿😿😿
Jade Pes we didn’t, cuz legends never die :) he’s still there somewhere
And in that same year of 1991, me and Ben hardy were born. He was January and I was September.
We love you Freddie
Thank you Sir Brian, Roger and Deacon for this beautiful song. A great tribute for Freddie 😢
I'm a Japanese person who recently became a Queen fan. The more I get to know Freddie's singing voice and personality, the more charming and wonderful he seems. I think he is without a doubt the greatest musician and entertainer.
Rest in peace Freddie.
