Keep in mind this was a rookie just out of college going off on an entire team full of all stars and pros, and you can see why my Spurs we're able to win thier first of many titles the very next season.
Had this game on tape, Duncan's playoff debut. Such a masterpiece. Also, the last run of The Admiral as a premier go-to guy in the league. Thank you for the upload.
San Antonio was playing 3 forwards/center in the starting 5. Will Perdue 6'11 Tim Duncan 6'11 and David Robson 7'1 thats what you call big boy basketball not this small ball kiddy shit today
Fitting this was posted on TD21's birthday (a happiest and blessed 48th)! And what a Playoff debut for a rookie. If 1997 Draft was called the "Duncan Draft", 1997-98 was set as a phenomenal season for a neophyte -- All-Star, swept ROTM honors, All-Defense Second Team, and All-NBA First Team (first since Larry Bird in 1980).
Man I’m loving your channel.. love getting a new video after a long day at work. My wife is Colombian n she is just baffled by me watching 30 yr old games every night 😂
Antonio McNugget (currently McRocket) was the original Stoudemire, except he could shoot the 18 footer consistently. Never mentioned as one of the better power forwards in the NBA, historically. I imagine it’s because, poor guy, just had a lot of trouble with injuries.
did someone say McDyess?? McDyess to McCloud, Robinson on Robinson. Cliff the spliff!! Papabitch had hair.. KJ was still the man, Jkidd hair wasn't blonde yet... man 1998 was so great!! Great suns year!! McDyess had an insane year with us then left us... :(
How Is that blue and orange ball court color's and logos still not being used today? at Phoenix? Damm, so exciting, they had a loaded team. But my Spurs had the best player in the league during that time next to Jordan's last year with the bull's of course.
@@oronasundial of course a Spurs fan would think that the Phoenix Suns colors are blue and orange, not purple and orange… Just like San Antonio has navy blue and silver… San Antonio is a piece of shit team and the rigged NBA help you win way too much… Thanks, Tim Donaghy
Suns had insane depth at PG back then with Kidd, Nash, and KJ on the same roster.
“Duncan is everywhere!”
The night Tim Duncan gave the NBA a taste of what was to come for the next 18 years

👍
Man over here in San Antonio those were the days.
Avery Johnson was screaming like crazy 😂
Rookie Duncan played like a seasoned veteran
NBC and TNT would be a perfect broadcast package for the nba

Duncan/Robinson/Purdue frontline has to be the biggest in history. Timmy was basically playing SF.😮
Why is this so clear??
Yes!! The music!
And they finally put some big talent around David Robinson after decade plus of playing with over the hill superstars.
He had a good enough team to win with in 94&95 he just got outplayed by Hakeem in 95 and Malone in 94
Got their ass kicked by Utah the very next round

Kevin Harloom is out of his mind 😂😂😂😂
Cannot put my finger on commentators' names. Who are they?
Kevin Harlan and Quinn Buckner
@@MDBBall Thanks. Quinn Buckner is a name I haven't heard in a decade!
Robinson on Robinson.
Robinson blocks Robinson!
Robinson is fouled by Robinson.
Suns lineup style too soon , far as the same lineups.
