Yes, we should thank you for doing these videos. Freeze in the winter and bake in the summer and in between it's just not nice. Today it's hot, then sandblasted then soaking wet and the trolls are entitled to their opinion and then again their privileged to be wrong. Thank you for another great video.
And I’m happy to make them for you!
Those suburus are not the best/easiest cars to drive that blazer is very very nice but i do personally prefer the 80s/90s blazers and I was so hoping that you were going to show us the red RAM next to the suburu that looked one nice truck GREAT VIDEO AGAIN RANDY 👍👍👍
Your audio does very well considering the high wind. Ive read good and bad things about the eco diesel.
Randy: that subaru is in limp mode. Once the check engine light is triggered you cant change the sports settings , traction control and cruise controls don't work. The boost pressure is also limited. You will have to find out out the problem and clear the code for the car to be normal.
I have some Insight as I own a 2011 sti
Randy, love the channel. Always enjoy watching your vids about all the cars you see. We somehow found you and Monkey Wrench and enjoy both channels. Keep up the good work!!!
I will NEVER complain about you looking at trucks, especially work trucks. And I can't imagine getting hit by one, though I have been rear ended while driving my F450 bucket truck by a Civic. Barely scratched the paint on my pintle hitch and her car was totally destroyed!
Keep up the great content l! Always love to see it! Keep it up!!
I really enjoyed this video Randy!! Love the trucks
Yes, thank you for the content Randy. Happy 4th of July as well!
Subaru technician here. Those STI's have the EJ257 engines. The rod bearings are complete glass. They spin bearings commonly. I've seen at least 2 of those STI's come in with spun bearings. Everything else about the car is great. Regular WRX's with the FA20F engines are actually pretty reliable tho.
i'm thinking this car probably has a bent clutch fork. I have also seen that before. Sometimes the fork will bend and it'll make you feel like the clutch is bad but it's just not fully engaging like it should.
I test drove brand new ones around 2010 and again in 2015. I noticed the same thing with those. The clutch pedal almost completely at the top before it engaged. I didn't like it. I owned a bug eye 02. The clutch engaged right as it came off the floor. I've never heard anyone say that the ej25 had bad bearings. All I've ever heard about were head gaskets and anything over 500hp needed pistons and rods.
@@johntysen3370 interesting. Many of the 2010's i drive they engage pretty low and the pedal is quite heavy. The 2015's these are pretty common to bend the forks. The later ones don't have this problem. These 2015-2021 models generally grab around midway on the pedal. Not too low or too high. Unless the previous owner burnt out the clutch. STI's generally have a pretty grabby clutch, the engagement is much more aggressive than a regular WRX. These cars really go without having to release the pedal too much. I've been a tech for over 2 years. So i know how these cars drive. And yes the later EJ's which are the 257's specifically. They didn't build the bottom ends right. They have a updated short block for them. Which should fix the issue. But yeah i've seen more than one of them around the 30-40k mile range with spun bearings.
Happy 4th my friend. Thanks again for your update. 😊
Subaru has a competition clutch used for racing
Thank you Randy for all you do to bring us videos. Yeap cars are not built like they used to.
@@FIREB4II Yes
I would still drive that G8 even with the 3.6 because I love the body style.
That sunbird is sharp. I love the square body style.
Loved seeing a car from my home country Australia over there, the Holden/Pontiac sedan V6.
Great video under somewhat trying conditions!
Man, I'm addicted to this videos. Thanks
Please get that STI!!! I guarantee it will be a smash hit on the channel!!!!
Hey Randy! Hope you’re doing well! Just started watching the video & if it’s still there, I would like to see that Mazda next to the goo’d up Bmw. Thanks, & keep up the great work man!
Love the collection indeed. Keep up the great work. Okay.
happy 4th of july buddy!
Hey randy pretty sure the sti has a aftermarket clutch. They are good cars just as long you don’t try push it over 450hp on a stock motor.
@@FIREB4IIbuilt Subaru BRZ ...800 hp ..beating supercars 😂
@@FIREB4IIa buddy of mine has a 2016 STI pushing 727 to the wheels!!! Obviously very little is stock under the hood!!😅😅😅😅
Keep pushing bleaaings brother
I'd be all in on the Subaru WRX. Pop a new clutch in, money in the bank long as the price is right. Happy 4th of July Randy!
More dedicated truck walk-arounds please 🥺 I never get tired of them.
Happy 4th Of July Randy and everyone
Good Video & Walk Around Randy Good Variety Of Vehicles I Agree With You About The Blazer Years Ago My Friend Had A Full Size With A 3 Inch Lift & Years Later His Girlfriend Had A 4 Door 2000 Blazer
Hi Randy, just wanna let you know that I watch today’s video. You did a awesome job between the raindrops. I know it’s raining on you but you still doing awesome drive even through the rain just keep the videos coming on your CZcams channel. Please talk to you later man.
Randy would love to see the Sunbird on your channel some day! My mom had a white one of the same year when I was very little. Have a very old picture of me trying to help my Dad wash it in our driveway. Happy 4th to you and your family man!
That Subaru looks and sounds very nice👍
I'd say the Clutch is gone! I bought a 1982 Subaru Leone Sedan and the Clutch was the same, engaged right at the top. It was mint and looked like it had just rolled off of the Showroom floor! I gave it to my Mother and a month later the Clutch let go on her. That cost more than I paid for the Car to replace.
Randy I own an eco-diesel I’ve got 76000 miles on it I average 31 mpg and on the highway it’s close to 40mpg and I’ve had no issues at all!! Get one you be happy
Love the color of the Subaru
Happy 4th of July 😊
Had a 17 eco diesel besides egr cooler issue that was recalled had zero issues loved it...
Love the truck's
Hey Randy, awesome content as always! That STI is very interesting. I'm curious what that goes for. I used to own a 2014 Hatchback STI. The SI drive is for throttle response, with sport sharp being the quickest. Also the c.diff controls are to set front or rear bias on the center differential. I usually had mine on auto or a click to the rear. Also, I was so excited when I saw the G8 in the side mirror. It's too bad it wasn't the GXP.
That G8 could be worse. Could have had the 3.0 in it. That engine is gutless as hell and it has a lightweight driveshaft than bends and hits the body when you plant it.
Love the trucks and the cars like the Chevy s at the end.
Woow just woow on 2018 Dodge Lonestar 4x4 & blue Subaru WRX STI yes also red Scion I4 is clean little car aswell most important ( Happy Independence Day) Randy
I like the ecodiesel. Someone I know has one and he loves it. I’ve driven it a bit and honestly it’s not bad
Looking good Randy I like the shirt
Happy 4th! 🇺🇲
I just saw the thumbnail with the STI. I literally commented about these last night I saw one on one of your vids from a year ago. Love your vids Randy.
Glad you like them!
I agree with you on your thought about the blazer. I wouldn't be able to drive it though.
Those Cummuns engines are true work horses and Dodge has been using these since Fall of 1988 for the 1989 Model Year
STI sounds really good
I like the Subaru and the Ecodiesel Ram.
Go for it
I have a 2021 Chevy blazer mine has the 3.6 v6 engine it’s comfortable to drive and comfortable on long trips I don’t know about the 4 cylinder but the v6 has a lot of torque steer. If you slam on the throttle you better have a good hold on the steering wheel.
Hello Randy. The Pontiac Sunbird is a good looking car. You should put a bid on it when it comes up for sale. The BMW 750Li is a good looking car. Happy 4th of July to you and your family. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Don't because I love it when you show the trucks in their different conditions
As a former Impreza owner, when these cars throw a check engine light they disable cruise/si drive/traction control. It’s stupid but the flashing cruise and “S” on the dash are nothing to be worried about.
The dark sky and that ram 5500 lookin ready for something
Ram has two Cummins diesel’s they both have the same displacement, but they do offer one that has a higher Torque and hire Horsepower
That’s just how the clutches are on the STI’s my friend has one it does the same thing
Like the 5500 ram I see you how you run away for it and that's a good car cleaning fixing that's beautiful that's a nice truck
My father has a 2016 Laramie 1500 with the eco diesel. speaking from experience as a former dodge tech; Great truck as a whole, but these motors are notorious for their swirl valves going bad. Outside of that it’s an amazing pickup and as long as you mostly use it for highway service you most likely won’t have a motor problem.
HI RANDY I LOVE THE BLAZER IT LOOKED EVIL
Evil 4 cylinder ☠😹
Randy! I’d highly recommend a 2020+ sonata for a fuel efficient car. My 2022 non-hybrid squeezed out 45 mpg on a highway drive with the windows down over 80 miles
That Subaru would be soooo much fun to drive
We love our gl450 twin turbo v6 also it’s a 2015
Happy Fourth of July 🎉
They use the 6.7 cummins in everything.. they put them in 26-28' box trucks, and it's a fairly common engine for school buses as well.. Rear engine transit style(flat front) buses you can opt for an 8.1 cummins, but most are the 6.7.. they range from 200-240hp/500-560fl. lbs I believe
I don't think I have seen an old Sunbird coupe. It's invisible gold. I like it. Subarus are scary unknowns to me. Maybe one day I will buy one.
Hey Randy. The ram 5500 has the same engine as the other rams but it’s actually detuned to make less power for some reason
Some high quality 4K in this video :P
Hey randy Subaru wrx and sti clutch lets out high it takes getting use to I have a 2019 same thing
That's not a bumper that's a front porch 😂
😹😹😹
Just wait until you have to replace them Brem-blow brakes.... Called Dodge for OEM pads.... 820.00 front and 750.00 rear in my area. That is one car off MY list
Hey Randy get the eco diesel you keep looking for one so grab it enjoy it for little bit then flip it or just sell it.
Thanks for the videos but please do more trucks suv cars and motorcycles
That is only badge a blazer. Chevy totally dropped the ball with that rebranded traverse.
Could you put the booster pack on the G8 next time plz 😊
HAPPY 4TH OF JULY EVERYONE
Whoa Ram 5500 🤘🏽🔥😀
Hi Randy! The STI and all subies when the check engine light is set off it disables just about everything, cruise, S drive, etc.....
Be careful Randy 🙄🙄 I like the blue Honda 😎😎👍👍
20:47 someone was test driving the subaru that you looked at lol
The new blazer looks like it’s a sibling of the Jeep Cherokee . No character. Give me the old ones of both
The 3rd gen eco diesel (2020 and up)is a decent engine. Second gen like in that 17 was an ok engine too but that one is the engine that had the emission "scandal" so they got de tuned. First gen sucked.
17:32 it seems we have the same music taste.
if anyone want the name of this song it's Alive by P.O.D
Fine I'll say it lol...
The sti is a good car. 98-01 had headgasket issues and the internet clowns assume all subaru's have headgasket issues.. they don't. 08-11 had widespread piston failures that has been resolved for the most part. Engine failures happen but 99.999999% of the time it's when people mod them don't tune them properly then beat on them or they run them out of oil. People drive them like a Honda and they are not a Honda.
As for the so drive that's your sport/sport#/intelligent settings for throttle response and boost targets.
C diff let's you manipulate the torque split between front and rear or go full 50/50 lock. It's disabled currently tly due to the check engine light being on.
Crusie is disabled with any check engine light activation
I've had 5 sti's over the years never once lost a head gasket or had any issues other than a cracked piston on my 04 at 91,000
Clutch is pretty easy biggest issue is those 6 speed sti trans are heavy but you have a lift so it wouldn't be too bad.
Overall it looks good on you
They use those Cummins in massive Class A RVs. Crazy torque.
W video
I always heard that the older 2.0 was unreliable compared to the new 2.5 on the subie, the old engines blew head gaskets on the regular apparently
Randy the Subaru's 2014 and up have no head gasket issues anymore they redesigned the motors 14 and down have nothing but head gasket issues and oil issues
That 5500 would be cool with a regular Ram dually bed
All the rams from 2500 to 5500 have the same engine. Only thing that changes is the suspension, rear end and Tranny.
I never have been a fan of Chevy period.. But that blazer does look nice.
That STI could have a stage 3 racing clutch in it. The buttons and knob no clue
Chuckles, yup id prefer the old blazers over the new ones, but then I prefer any of the older vehicles over the newer ones, especially dodge trucks and early ram trucks. Well maybe the Challenger would be nice...
Where is this place very nice cars and trucks
The dodge 550 looks like it one of those railroad trucks
Do I have to say it randy or do you already know lol... I know you already got some subaru goodies 😁
I don't miss a day of auto auction rebuilds
Could you possibly do more truck videos
Might be hydraulic clutch lifter... sometimes the seal's give out! Even leaking on to the clutch!? Stop nipping maybes, had one car hooked to the brakes fluid...
Those BMW 's of that model have an electrical fault that shows up every now and then for no reason, then they won't start,I know of 3 here in Australia from my cab passengers all telling me their story,I owner who lived 1000 miles from Sydney on a Station in the outback only got half way home having just purchased new,he phoned the dealer said he would take a $20000 loss just to get his earlier model BMW back, they said sorry we just sold it,don't what he did but he got rid of it ,was about a 2000 model.
Some of the Blazers have a turbo 3 cylinder I think
