Metal Detecting: Nokta/Makro Simplex+ Vs XP Orx

  • In this Metal Detecting video I bury 9 target targets at random depths and even throw a couple of nails in the holes with the targets and see how each machine performs with depth and target seperation. I use the Simplex+ as well as the XP Orx on their factory settings with very minor "tweeking" and film it all, its quite surprising of the results.

    I own both machines. I am impressed with the depth of the 9" coil, especially when compared to the 11" of the Simplex. I love both machines. Great relic machines, both.

    Nice test. Out of curiosity I would love to see this test in park mode on a couple of those targets with iron in the hole which is a faster mode but less depth than field mode which I believe you referred to as relic mode. Hunter GT done a few test on this machine in different modes and it appeared that the recovery was very fast in park mode which should fare well in seperation in iron.

    A great demonstration. I have a Simplex and a Garrett. I love the Simplex and tolerate the Garrett. I think the numerous comparisons of units costing 3-6 times as much are testaments to the Simplex. Not sure if anyone has mentioned this but, I find the tones that certain machines use to greatly influence my willingness to use them. If you don’t like the tones, you’re not going to like the machine.

      Coil option is entirely up to you I would personally recommend either the 9" HF or the 9" X35 for coin hunting you will be able to pick between the trash and iron with the 9" easier than a larger coil. And if you dont have a dealer we are authorized multi line dealers and carry XP as well.

    Where is ground balance at simplex, how it can work well if You didn't made ground balance?

    • @SwampKritter
      @SwampKritter  Před 4 lety +3

      Ground balancing is a process of canceling out the effects of ground mineralization and letting the detector only read the new targets and not the ground and the target. In a way it is a form of discrimination but in a good way. When you ground balance a detector what you are hoping to do is find the proper balance between the effects of the ground and not be positive or negative of a ground balance.
      A positive ground balance setting can cause the minimization to produce a response just like a a good target if set to high. Especially if your sensitivity is set to high along with it. If this happens you can potentially miss good targets being masked by the detector seeing only the mineralization and not the good target.
      A to negative ground balance setting can cause the detector to not see the ground minimization and or any new targets. Machine will run more quietly but you will experience a noticeable loss of depth on your detector. Neither of which is good.
      Our soil here is between good and bad meaning it has hardly none to a minute amount of mineralization. It is almost the perfect blend, even if i were to GB it would equal the factory tracking GB which is normally high 80's. Bad soil where GB is necessary will generally GB much much lower.
      I am not punning any machine, I did not GB either machine bc there was no need!

    Simplex for the win! Both hit targets the same leaving the deciding factor is price and features. XP ORX $650 non submersible VS Simplex+ $340 submersible. Separation would have needed Simplex set on Park mode.

      i lost my prescription glasses at the beach last summer while playing with my son, pulled the XP ORX to look for it but no signal came up to the knee level. i didn't know it was not submersible and was disappointed. thankfully I had an extra pair of glasses which allowed me to drive 3 hours back to home from corpus christi :)

    Hello, you do not touch the sensitivity of the simplex, while if I saw you go up the sensitivity of the orx. Thank you from France for your video

      Actually I did I turned the sens all the way up on the very first target I tested it on, I started out with the factory sens and then went all the way up. Thanks for the comment, GL and HH

      So which equal setting and the most powerful? Because I have the orx and I hesitate to take the simplex and more

      No need to ground balance in our soil, as our soil has no mineralization and normally balances at the factory preset of around 88. Thanks for the comment and watching

      @@SwampKritter did you do automatic tuning for the gunt before the test? at what soil frequency was test 88 carried out? thx

      @SwampKritter  Před 4 lety +1

      Are you referring to the orx? It has fast grab and manual GB on the machine, I did not GB either machine bc there is no need for the type of soil that I live in. I believe it was on 14.4 frequency, I did not adjust that either. This was a test of two like machines with no tweeking to see how they compared to one another, in basically the same settings. Thanks for the comment GL and HH
