    I love these shoes. I'm using them as my daily, disc golf, and indoor workout shoes and they have been great so far. I'm tough on my shoes and I wanted move into a goretex shoe to see if I can get two years from a pair. My last shoe was a Brooks Revel and they only lasted a year which was expected given the way I use my shoes.

      @4evertubeyou2 they’re definitely warmer than the non gtx version but depending on where you live, how hot it is there, and how far you run - you may be fine with these!

    What shoe do you recommend for chronic ankle instability? This one I was thinking because of the lower stack but also with how it kind of wraps the ankle. If not this one what do you recommend? I just took a nasty fall and sprained my ankle wearing a Nike V2k run. I love walking so much having this time off of my feet is so hard!! So I’m really taking my next shoe choice seriously 😂 I know people say hokas but for ankles I’m thinking less platform the better.

    • @trailandkale
      @trailandkale  Před 3 měsíci

      Hey Brandy - sorry you sprained your ankle and hope it recovers soon!! You’re right, the lower the drop, and the lower the stack height the better if you do tend to roll your ankles. Also a bit of stability in the midsole will help. Have you explored Altra at all? Most of their shoes are zero drop, have a nice amount of space in the toe box and are stable shoes. Helen loves the Timo 5 right now… here’s her review: czcams.com/video/hF7Ao_upSsU/video.htmlsi=GtQZdBLsp3SyKU-7 - I personally love the Speedgoat 6 as it’s a great all rounder that has cushioning but it also stable, review here: czcams.com/video/Q-3k2uwlJqU/video.htmlsi=CuZS2DtaLZF9U0-j - the Adidas soul stride ultra is very supportive too! Here’s my review of that one: czcams.com/video/3ulSx8e1tRQ/video.htmlsi=2RVjxZrfkyisrYDZ - watching those reviews will hopefully get you matched up with the right one for you :)

      Which Hokas are you running in?

    • @ilovemusic6794
      @ilovemusic6794 Před 4 měsíci

      I have the NEW Hoka Challenger ATR 7 Trail Running Shoes. They definitely do the job for me. Very bouncy. I just need to do better on where my knee leg and foot are going while running. Technique is everything and I’ve been watching CZcams college and Olympic women runners talking about all of that your form while running makes a whole lot of difference as far and energy or wastes energy and your speed. Your form affects pretty much everything. I did a 5k April 16th in the Hokas and my time was 43:13 and I could have pushed myself harder but I didn’t. It’s been a few years since it did a 5k 2019 my time was 1 hour 38 mins so I definitely improved on that time. I’m afraid if I get Nike shoes it won’t be as bouncy as the HOKA’S and I have bad knees so I need that cushiness. I’m not a professional runner by any means so I don’t agree with the store employees saying all trust me you want a shoe with less bounce and more about firmness and hard soles. Naaa that’s all for people in their early 20’s who don’t have arthritis yet in their knees by all means get shoes like that they can take the punishment I can’t!!
