    I had the great fortune to see the development and evolution of this track from a basement floor layout to the marvelously scenic and challenging layout that it has become. There was a significant amount of thought that went into its development that adhered to the planning of a great track but also simultaneously being cost conscious - from the table top cutouts that allow access to cars that have left the track to foam insulation that provides a platform for the grassy areas and hills, to the innovative schemes utilized for the trees, the gravel areas and the hills. In all the layout was a labor of love with the end product resulting in a truly fun and challenging track in which to race. Of course for anyone that has ever built a slot car track we know it is continually a work in progress.

    • @MrAramsey4979
      @MrAramsey4979  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you for your kind words. The tire walls are actually real slot car tires 1/32 scale. I had been given a bag of tires at a local hobby store. I glued them together usually 3 or 4 high onto a piece of black foam board cut to the size of the curve radius. A great thing is that the tires really work well when a car hits them at full speed. The cars simply bounce off. No harm to the cars or the tires.

    • @MrAramsey4979
      @MrAramsey4979  Před 4 lety +1

      Thank you...I appreciate your kind words. Don't laugh but I simply cut a piece of wood to size. painted it grey. Glued a few ads signs i printed off for free from the internet onto the walls and used heavy duty double sided tape to tape them to the track. I then glued a few extra tires together to make a rubber barrier incase a car hit the wall and used the same double sided tape to glue them down.

    • @MrAramsey4979
      @MrAramsey4979  Před 3 lety +2

      Hey Ricky...thanks for the question. I don't my setup is that efficient. If I could redo my layout, I would add a few more straight tracks in the pit area to give you more time to slow down in the pit area. However, my approach is to have two pit sensor tracks connected with a double change lane track. Since most of my racing is just 2 people, it gives both cars a chance to pit at the same time. So basically it's your normal pit lane entry and exit tracks with 2 pit sensors separated by a double lane change track. And as I said before, I would probably put 2 straight tracks at the entry points of the pit area to give more time to decrease car speed entering into the pit area. Hope that helps.
