- The outstanding 4/21/58 episode of the anthology series "SUSPICION", "FRACTION OF A SECOND", is based on a short story by Daphne du Maurier and stars The First Lady of the American Screen, Miss Bette Davis, in one of her most memorable TV performances as a woman who steps outside of her house to see her daughter off to school and returns to find a very different home inside....
In honor of The New Year, The New Decade, and The 60th Anniversary of "ALL ABOUT EVE", Miss Davis's most celebrated movie, I offer up another gem in the filmography of America's greatest actor and star!

I love Bette Davis movies. I prefer classics to movies of today even if they are in black and white. Nobody’s as talented as Bette Davis and others and actors of today can’t act like these movie stars of yesterday.

Love these old black and white films, love Bette Davis. Funny - noticing the sidewalks that go right up to the street rather than have a strip of grass between like we do in Washington DC. So many details to observe in these old films. Love, love love it - and thanks for posting - now I'm going to sit here for the next hour plus!

Thank you so much for this! Years ago I read the original short story on which this was based. It was called Split Second, and I believe Daphne du Maurier was the authoress. The editor of the volume stated that Bette Davis had starred in a television adaptation of the story, and ever since then I have been searching for the episode. Thank you for bringing my search to an end.
