Just don't see how they can charge $500 for this pack. The newest Spirit Packs are half the price and seem all around better. This one really shouldn't be sold for more than $100 at the most.
I have three main thoughts for this pack.
1. If this was someone's home build, then it would be awesome and I wouldn't dare say anything against it.
2. For what it is as a commercial pack, it falls well short of other options out there. Even before the Haslab and full-size spirit pack came out, this was lacking a bunch of features that people would expect to be there. It's almost like this is a hard-shell version of an inflatable proton pack that's just meant for halloween and then stored in a closet the rest of the year. But, at $500, people who buy this are more than likely going to be getting more use out of it.
3. I'm sure it won't be too long before some tech gurus come out with plans and kits to upgrade this pack into a more functional pack. There are already a bunch of kits out there for Spirit packs that might be easy to retrofit into this design. At the very least, replace the V-hook so a Spengler Wand can replace the stock Neutrona Wand.
I'm a huge and longtime Ghostbusters Fan, but to be honest, for this price it is so unbelievable awful...I have no words! If you want a proper Proton Pack please get the Spirit Halloween lifesize one if possible. Greetings to all Ghostbusters Fans out there!

Coolest thing about this is the modding potential. All those open switches +adding leds where they should be! This seems like it would be a fun project!

SPIRIT HALLOWEEN IS OUT OF THE LIFESIZE PACKS AND I'M FREAKING AHH
Yah had to resort to eBay, but there are some brand new units available just got to surf around and look for the smallest markup. The spirit pack is totally worth it for 400 and under I'd say, grabbed mine for 350 but it's so awesome. Did have to mod it a bit but it looks so close to the movie now
Man! Halloween Costumes dropped the ball on this one. If anything they just helped spirit halloween sell more packs. $500 for this. No way man.
For $500, you'd expect a lot more than just the cyclotron to light up. Not worth it.
This makes me really wanna buy the spirit Halloween one to put alongside my haslab one
I feel deeply and genuinely bad for anyone who orders this not knowing there are better and cheaper options out there.
This company has BALLS to ask that much money for this pack, especially after what HasLab and Spirit have put out.
Obviously the indestructibility was what caused delays and increases the cost. I was hoping “Close to 1:1” meant slightly smaller
The new Spirit ones are definitely where I'm getting my next pack. This is way too overpriced for less...sadly.
Still not worth 499! 💩 the pack frame is nice but soooo many other things wrong that would need modding. and with the N filter being placed wrong I'd pronounce this one DOA!!
Was considering this, but I think I’ll buy another spirit full size pack.
For $500 you can get two Full-size Spirit packs and then turn one into an Afterlife pack if you choose to.
Have been following this since it was announced.. and I’m glad I got the full size spirit store version instead. For $500 this version is lacking way too much.
If this had come out 5-6 years ago it woulld have been the greatest thing ever. Now its just an afterthought
Jason, thanks for the video! It was an in-depth comparison for sure. Predictably though, I still have to say that this is NOT a good deal, when you stack up all the details vs the Spirit pack.... Spirit has a much better offering for half the price. For us modders, its a no-brainer... I was down on Spirit for making the full size pack $130 more than the 85% one, with really no other benefits other than being full scale (same mods have to be made to the body & electronics), but if "size matters", then the $250 Spirit is the way to go. This pack, NOPE.
As for the cyclotron lights going counter-clockwise, I thought that it was the Afterlife pack that did that in the film.... one of the modders out there has perfected a kit for the Haslab pack that does this. Me, I'm not worried about the direction of the lights, especially now that we know they went counter-clockwise in the first film. Accidentally. :)
On the flip side this pack costs £300 in uk and the spirit ones are close to 600 with shipping and the haslab ones are 700+ on secondary market so am tempted.
2023 really is the year of the proton pack isn't it
You know something, I'm happy I got the Halloween Spirit Life Size proton pack that cost $260. As much as I wish it include motherboard and an Alice frame all combine, $500 is way too expensive. I'm gonna modify it myself!

With as many problems as there are with this pack, the thing I can't get past is the cyclotron lights. Not the counterclockwise rotation...that's at least accurate to some of the packs, some of the time. But why is the top set of lights placed so LOW?! It looks so immediately wrong.
Videos like this just give me more appreciation for my Haslab pack.

@@nerdloftgaming Only downside to the Haslab pack is the upgrade rabbit hole. Etsy is freakin DANGEROUS for me and my wallet now!
Not fixing something like the "slo bol" sticker shows how little care the company put into the pack. That should have been the easiest fix for them, and they couldn't even have been bothered to do that. Add that on top of how bad the rest of the pack is along with the price tag these things deserve to gather dust in their warehouse.
They're hoping to sell a lot to the European market , because unfortunately, Spirit dosen't ship outside the US & Canada
In all honesty, what hasn't been said? It's VERY expensive and there's not a whole lot that justifies the pricing. And that's coming from someone who's pretty optimistic when it comes to easily accessible stuff like Spirit's line. Overall there's some things i like, but a lot that i don't like, and that's okay sometimes.
Idk, does the bottom half of the proton pack look bigger than it should? Idk it looks like 5% wider than it should.

3:23 I wasn’t expecting the HalloweenCostumes Pack to be over-sized, especially compared to the Spirit full-scale and the HasLab packs…
But given how little it does, for a $500 tag, I’d stick to the Spirit Halloween pack. If you can find/acquire the Haslab pack, consider yourself fortunate, but still you’re getting more bang for your buck with the Spirit pack (especially since mods for the pack have existed for a while)
As an aside, where’d you get the P-clamp replacement? I’m in the market for one…
I for one, like the lights going counter-clockwise... I agree that it's not fair to compare to the Haslabs as that's just another beast altogether. But this pack, compared to a contemporary, the Spirit Halloween pack, I think Spirit wins hand-down. There are some things I like about the Fun pack, like the faux Alice frame. No doubt folks will mod the heck out of this Fun pack but between the base price and what you'll invest in customizing it... uff..
Ill wait for it to go on clearance....
All I can say is I am glad I got the Hasbro and the Spirit life size pack. I’ll stand clear from purchasing this one. Someone will, but I won’t be. Lol

I've been waiting for this video for a long time. now that it's here, I stand with my thoughts about the pack. it is not worth the 500-dollar price tag. 300 maybe but 500 no way.

Now that I've seen all 3 I just HOPE HasLab makes another one for the new movie.
I bought just the wand off Ebay. I was going to add it to my 80% Spirit pack. My thoughts? The body of the neutrona wand is vinyl or similar about as near as I can tell. The switches on the wand are real switches but only one is connected to anything which doesn't make any sense. They could've just put cheap dummy switches.
Looks like they lowered the price to $299.99.

I backed the Haslab Pack and it was only $399. This should be the same or less.

I looks like it was stung by a swarm of bees. It’s more £250 than £500 tbh. The hasbro pack with the wand only comes to £495 but that has more features than both the spirit and 5his new one.
Noticed the wires in the cyclotron are plugged in, so would switching the cyclotron to clockwise be as simple as unplugging the top left and bottom right and switching them?
Yeah, kinda alluded to that, but you can simply swap around the connections, making the cyclotron rotate clockwise if preferred.

hard pass, even for the lowered 299 price it is still too expensive for what you are getting when the lifesize spirit halloween pack has better details for stuff like the power cell and good after-market support for 3d printed parts, better electronics kits, etc. drop it to 100 bucks and I would consider it maybe

I know this phrase gets thrown around too much, but someone seriously must've been smoking crack when they thought this pack would sell.
For $500, you get a proton pack that:
-Is too big
-Only has one set of lights, housed in the cyclotron (that move in an unconventional order)
-Has inaccurate stickers
-Is made of shoddy construction
-Has cheap electronics
I get they announced this ahead of the HasLab and Spirit releases, but they could've spent the time during those delays to TRY to make this better. Instead, they've been outdone by Spirit in every conceivable way.
Also, for this to be a “toy" proton pack, it needs to have a much more reasonable price. By charging more than the HasLab offering, they're shooting for “collector" grade, which this definitely is NOT.
As for the suggestion that fans overseas would choose the Halloween offering because the Spirit pack doesn't ship internationally; I can't imagine it would be more expensive to buy the Spirit pack from an alternative seller that would be willing to oblige. Even an aftermarket Spirit pack would be a better value than this.

How does the wand compare to the other packs? Being in the U.K. this is our own option as once you factor in postage etc spirits new packs work out more than this :/
How much does it weigh? Same as spirits? Or more like haslab? Or its own weight?
I like how it's slightly bigger, I like the clunky feel to it, very brutish. For the price they should have really made that bumper a separate piece tho, that's something the average Joe can't fix or modify easily. The sticker as a light is also a shame, tho I can see that being an easy fix, but of course it would take more $$. I also really like the cyclotron and how rounded off it is vs spirits sharp angled edges, but I dislike how much of a border around it there is. I can totally see this as a fun pack to invest a years worth of time, modding and painting just to have a project to work on as a hobby, assuming you don't mind racking up about $1000 total price after all is said and done.
D'oh! Meant to include that. I'd say just shy of the HasLab pack. Not crazy heavy, but certainly has some heft to it.
And agreed. I actually really like the overall look of it, and somewhat hulking mass. Also, the material its made out of is a bonus for a packed convention or party setting. Had it only had additional lights and a separate bumper!

I just can't get over the oversized cyclotron - it looks too goofy and strange.
If this, or the Spirit pack, had come out 10 years ago, before I made my own pack, I’d jump all over them! Any criticisms I have with them are easily dealt with.
In SOME aspects it looks better in-hand than the press shots but then in other ways it’s much worse. It seems sized up in a way that makes it look cartoonish. I just don’t see a buyer getting anything worth the price point. Would be better of snagging a spirit pack and putting the extra money into some quality cosmetic mods.

😢 I would give my left arm for one of those boys wanted one and not the small one you get from the costume shop that's not the same as life saves and some people that make them they're so expensive. If I had the portal back he has here I would take a little bit of and make it look like some of the black is coming off from the metal from where and Terror take a little bit older looking but I do have a friend that could put little tiny emblems on the proton pack because he's a professional painter or do a Slimer theme proton pack? Pink and green slime cosmetic change.
cut the price in half and it's fine. but at this point it's not even good for modding. with all the parts you'd want to replace, you'll be paying the same you would pay for a custom kit. the features are lazy, the price is unjustifiable, and that "slo-bol" sticker is like a slap on the face

I'm guessing your referring to the Macks pack? It's still going, just very...very slowly lol. Covid stuffed them up badly, as only this year have they been able to start really moving their pack shells pre orders.
So wait, the power cell area is solid? So you cant even really mod it easily?
Appears to be hollow, so should be able to add electronics rather easily.
Well im not trying to be mean but the prise tag of $500 for a proton pack that doesnt even have lights in the power cell lights move counterclockwise not really a fan of that. Materials that are not as good for what it looks the wand dont have any lights not even on the gun barrel audio comes from a super tiny speaker on the wand to be honest i dont want to offend anyone but they are asking $500 for something thats not as good as the spirit halloween. I got my spirit halloween full size pack for $200 and out of the box is amazing. For me its too expensive for what i can see.

For the $500 at this costs this should do way more stuff than it already does I mean the Spirit Halloween $89.99 pack already does Waymore than this pack ever could think of doing. Basically I feel that this is just a really expensive Halloween prop not something that I would actually want to take out and use with any of the local Ghostbusters groups in town because it’s lackluster compared to there’s. Now for the $89 and 99710 heck yeah I’d be more than happy to use that past Halloween for like videos and events in cosplay because it actually does stuff and I don’t feel embarrassed that I spent money on something that doesn’t work.
Why the hell would they charge $500 ($100 more than the Hasbro pack) for this thing when there are stickers in place of things that really could of lit up? It's insulting to charge that much for a lesser pack than the Hasbro one

Once converted to New Zealand currency, with shipping fee... Over $1,000 dollars! I wanted to cosplay as a Ghostbuster in 2024, but not for that price!
Longtime fan and even if this was the only option I would rather build from scratch. The price tag is way to high for the low quality

Wow, just wow…this company missed the mark on so many levels! Charging unknowing fans that amount is a slap in the face. 🤯😖 There will be people that buy this as gifts and others will buy it not knowing better. I am amazed at the lack of attention to detail in the production of this product. It was definitely not made for fans by fans. Thank you Haslab & Spirit for offering better to the community.
