At 77 years and facing the twilight of this and all that it is, it`s so nice to go back to a sane and comfortable time,,,,and imagine, this includes the 60`s.
can you imagine writing a song and to have such a beautiful woman sing it back to you? I think Donovan seems a bit abashed...he may be reminded of the source of his words?
What a great live version! His voice is deeper and more mature and he sings slower than on the record. She's good too, but I wish he were doing it on his own.
What I like about Donovan is that he has seen all the "stuff" of this world and yet has remained a normal once married down to earth man in the street!
Judging by Ms. Gayle's appearance, I'd guess somewhere near the mid-1970s. Donovan (born 10 May 1946) seems too youthful here for the 1980s - by then he looked a wee bit older. He first released the song early in 1965 when he was still 18 years old.
"He moved to Ireland in the early 1970s. After a ten years of success and endless touring Donovan was burned out. So, on the advice of his management team, he got away from it all at Castlemartin Estate in Co Kildare (later purchased by Tony O’Reilly). It was supposed to be a quick, recuperative trip. Yet, the longer he spent in Ireland the greater the empathy he felt, with the landscape, the people and the history."
Yep. And considering that Ms. Swift is far more musically talented than 99% of others who top the charts nowadays... I'll keep enjoying the sublime music of yesteryear.

You posted on the wrong page, sir. If you, however, did spot racism in this extraordinary lovely song & performance, then, well, I can only imagine your outrage when you are in the presence of actual racism. The finger-pointing, the foaming at the mouth! Meanwhile, the rest of us will just enjoy some beautiful music instead. Cheers!

Yes, Bob Dylan is way better,
Oh, I mean Donovan Donovan.
Taylor Swift is musically totally untalented.
my anger and hatred precludes me from enjoying this reality...
