Is the BMW 330i your favorite long standing four door sedans EVER?!
In Europe we also have the choice of the 320i with 184 BHP and 0-60 in 7 seconds. In the UK it’s probably best choice as our government and local authorities are obsessed with speeding and issuing speeding tickets, most areas being made 20mph in town centres and emissions taxes, being made to pay a tax to drive in London. 320i still decent performance and same specifications.
would you recommend this over the 2019 4series Grandcoupe or the 2019 540i? (both X drive and Msport)
M sport package is standard in Australia why we pay $70000aud for them

Just bought a new 2019 330i. Have been experience some "problem" while the car downshifts between 10 and 15 MPH. Every time when I about to come to a stop, I would stop giving it gas or break to let the car "rolling" forward. During that "rolling", I have been experiencing some jerkyness - almost as if the car was trying to brake for me slightly. It happens very consistently and I can replicate that almost every time I tried. I went to the service center and the technician felt the same thing too. We tested drive another new 330i and it had the same issue. Does anyone know if this is some problem with its transmission? Is this normal? It's my first BMW so I'm not quite sure. Thanks ahead.
Keyu Wang Yes, this happens in comfort mode. I have both a 2019 X3 and 2019 330xi and they both do what you are describing in comfort mode. Both cars feel so much smoother when downshifting and coming to a stop in sport mode. We only run them in standard sport mode now.
I've owned mine (rear wheel drive) for about 6 months (2600 miles) and get between 35 and 38 mpg combined city/hwy in Comfort mode. Highway alone, I get ~45 mpg (70-75 mph) in Comfort mode. I haven't used the Eco mode yet on the highway but I would expect the mpg to be even higher.

I really wonder why a lot of NA people think BMW's have bad reliability. I am from austria and we drive this things to 500.000+ km. Same thing with Volkswagen, i know at least 5 people with a volkswagen with more than 500k km on the clock, while a lot of americans rant about their reliability. I mean there are some Toyotas which are maybe even more reliable, but the interior is way cheaper and the infotainment of asian cars is by far not as advanced.
A 3 series built in Munich differs in build quality from ones built in Mexico or Africa. The 3 series models available (at least in Canada) are pretty well-optioned and therefore may succumb to future reliability issues. I recall in UK, many 3 series I saw and drove were bare bones in terms of options. Less pieces, less chance of failure. Side note: BMW plastics are notoriously inferior compared to, say, Toyota. Toyota might have bland interiors but their plastics and materials will stand the test of time. Lastly, reliability doesn't mean much to NA's as most BMW are leased. Just a few considerations.

@@RyanRusich Why is there still the misbelief that the BMWs coming from Mexico plants are worse? I thought this too at first, but then you realized that 90% of the work is now made by robots and all the parts, piece by piece are the same in Mexico and in the rest of the world.
@@roccodivincenzo1858 I should have clarified and used auto manufacturers as an example but CZcams doesnt really lend itself to forming a thesis in the comment sections. In general, the philosophy of each company will dictate the reliabilty and quality of a vehicle. The quality of a vehicle produced in Japan is held in higher regard because of the philosophy regarding quality, work ethic, communication, etc. and this is largely based on the culture of the organization. That being said, things are/have changed and more automation creates more consistent quality throughout.

I bought a 3 series back in 2011 because I wanted to experience what the hype was all about. I kept it for about 10 months and then sold it. I just couldn't understand what the hype was about. It was a 328i, so maybe I made the wrong purchase and a 335i or M3 would have been more satisfying. It was also a very tiny car plus it felt like I was sitting too low to the road, a little unsettling where I live in a land of SUVs. An Escalade would have annihilated me. If you're not a "diehard" enthusiast then a Civic Sport is all you really need. Save some $$$ and you have long-term reliability and a fun car. All-in-all, BMW has a great line of cars, super stylish and awesome performers but the mystique is pretty much lost on me and nothing more than a pretend status symbol nowadays. As Scott said, 3-series in Vancouver are like belly buttons, everyone's got one....
There is no way in hell any BMW is a "family car." High price, low efficiency, rapid depreciation, low long term reliability. Family sedans are made by Honda, Toyota, Hyundai, Kia, Chevy, etc.

I disagree many people already overpay for suvs which are made for families. But if you’re looking for something that’s sporty and fun but is also able to haul 2 kids I mean this car sits and that spot pretty nicely
To be fair, a “family” vehicle and an expensive vehicle are not necessarily mutually exclusive. Sure the average family isn’t wealthy, but there’s plenty out there who do well enough to have a BMW as their family hauler, especially with all their SUV’s. Personally I don’t think a BMW makes sense as my family car for all the reasons you mentioned, but that doesn’t mean it doesn’t make sense for everyone. As they say “it’s their money.”

Bad BMW reputation is not "jealousy". In Europe, BMWs are the cheapest, used RWD cars. The most favourite car brand of "fast, furious, and stupid", wannabe "alpha" males. You know the type with racing stickers, black tinted windows, an aftermarket exhaust, and running 50 in tempo20.
That price is insane. Id get a G70 3.3L TT over the 330i all day. Hate all the gimmicky, senseless tech in BMWs. Pass
