  • The 2022 BMW 330i treated us well this week. It took us all the way down to Illinois and back comfortably, efficiently, and ///M Sportingly.

    A great review. I now have a feel of what it would be like to own/drive this car - and to that, I'm looking at a 2022 330i as my next purchase -- SO, this review is SO on point for me! Thanks for yo9ur effort and time creating this "episode"! Drive on!

    I wish they still made a manual in these. Back in the day, I owned a 2011 328i inline 6 manual, it was a fun car!

    BMW made so many good changes with the G20 over the F30. I think the 330e would be excellent, but I wonder if the extra weight would ruin the driving dynamics

    Looking forward to the LCI review. Should have a lifetime free popcorn certificate for that movie screen dash. Been on a YT marathon to decide between the elusive and vanishing '22's or wait out for the '23 built to oder. Dealer allocations are like finding a piece of gold at moment. The ABBA mention alone deserves a sub:-))

    When I was hypothetical shopping an X3 some months back, the HK audio wasn’t available, at all, in the 30i…supposedly due to the shortage, so maybe that’s the case on the 3 series now, too.

    Agree with you guys on this car. I personally wouldn’t get x-drive, as I daily drove an F30 328i through Michigan winters, and it was beautifully balanced and got me through everything. Yes, I’m sure that people need the m-sport package to be sporty in their automatic, AWD 4 cylinder car😂

    Hello! In the video you mentioned your mom thinking her F30 seats were hard. That may be because it was made in South Africa. F30's made in Germany used different padding material in the seats making them more comfortable than F30's made in South Africa! (:

    It's funny to see you guys reviewing a G20 330i with an IS in the background. That's exactly what my wife and I have in the garage right now! Hers is a '21 330i with M Sport, and my primary is a '21 IS 350 F Sport RWD. Frankly, the 330i makes the IS seem dated in some ways, but in others, the old school aspects of the IS are preferred. I disagree with Chris that I actually prefer the V6 just because of the naturally aspirated power delivery and induction noise... at least for "fun" driving. For daily driving, the B48 feels easily superior. The fake engine sound is really grating though. If it were strictly "my" 330i, I'd likely code the fake sound out.
    Both cars are great, but they drive nothing alike. Test drives are super important. Personally, I'll take the Lexus for its more natural-feeling responses to inputs and reliability, but the 330i is pretty darned impressive.
    Oh, and the build quality. The IS has zero rattles, but our 330i has had a few a long as we've owned it.

    Wow I’ve only gotten as high as 37-38 mpg in my Mazda3. That’s impressive for a 2.0T. Though do you think the jack-of-all-trades nature of the car comes at the expense of its emotional character? Also I’d love to see more people test a non-M-Sport version. I feel like I’ve seen maybe 2 reviews of a non-M-Sport 330i anywhere in video or writing.

      bmw has lost its driver feedback / directness for a decade. It can be objectively fast both in a straight line and cornering and yet you don't feel anything about how the front tires are loading up the G forces. All brands more or less do that ever since the introduction of electronic steering, but bmw seems to deteriorate the most in that respect. For the price of a new 330, I'd get a mazda 3 and a dedicated beat up track car and get way more fun.

      The American "MY" marketing designation is the dumbest thing ever invented. Purporting to sell a future year car in the current year. Go by build year. This is 2022 as is any LCI built within this calendar year.

      @@nessuno5403 The B48 in the A90 has different tuning and internals, it’s not the exact same engine.

    • @nessuno5403
      @nessuno5403 Před rokem +1

      @@zMischeivous which one are you talking about? Toyota uses a 145kW for Japan and 190kW international version shared with other cars including this 330i and Morgan Plus Four. The B48 with substantial hardware changes is the 225kW BMW and Mini version. Whatever the case, the comment that this engine is "very ruvid and not smooth at all" (different words to say the same thing) is rubbish.

    • @postalpancho
      @postalpancho Před rokem

      @@nessuno5403 b48 is the best mass produced 4cyl on the market. I remember racing a 2019 230i back in the day with my stage 2 WRX with 290tq to the wheels and still got beat by a bone stock 230i. Those things are way quicker than most people think. They don’t have a huge fan base because people opt for more affordable 4cyl sports cars but the b48 stands head and shoulders above all othe 4cyl unless it is some special low production 4cyl like the Civic Type R.
