From what i remember, Eddy said that there were supposed to be MORE of these shorts... But because of ya'know what, we're only getting 4 of these... They’ll likely prioritize in the ones they feel is more important
Yeah this is just what they could get done before the shutdown, it's just that the stuff they should've prioritized is the characters we haven't seen in ages (like ep 1, it did this concept pretty perfectly) and not the ones we just had the focus on. I don't know when they did these relative to learning about the shutdown, but even if they didn't know yet, doing the characters we haven't seen in a while first would've left the ones we just got content for as potential fodder and would've made more sense.

Sidenote, the War actually happened 90 years ago... It ENDED 80 years ago, but the actually started 90 years ago, since the war lasted around a decade...
Although, since it's been 2 in-universe years since Ozpin's speech about the war & color back in V2, i guess it'd be 92 & 82 years go now... Hm...
Also, the ones where they can get the actors in on a short notice.
They're focusing on Jaune because they're doing what they can with whoever they can get. Miles is right there. Michael and Kerry are too, thus we get Jaune, Sun and Neptune. Aaron from what we know is happy to lend his voice, so no surprises Oscar is there too. And since nobody knows if v10 will ever happen, we should be happy there's at least this little shred of possible future content, the little bits we can get for now, which surely will be explored properly if we get another volume.
I don't know if "surely" is the right word to use, "might" would be better. Them not retreading stuff is why V9 fumbled the Penny stuff, not giving us a moment between Ruby and Jaune about it which it so desperately needed to do. Between this and the movie doing content that should be saved for an eventual V10, I'm more worried they're *not* going to cover it when we get there because they 'already have' with these things. Would be better to save it and have Beyond not focus on any of RWBYJ.
I remember someone pointing out that they may have focused on characters whose Voice Actors they could lock down. Especially those who were local. I was hoping for Team CFVY but then I forgot that Ashley Jenkings who is Coco lives in Scotland with her husband Burnie, although Burnie did show up to the RT studios last month mostly for red vs Blue but maybe he squeezed in some voice over time. But yeah, apparently some of the VA's are either located somewhere else or just too busy. Hopefully they could still work something out with them since most of the time Neath Oum records his lines from Japan.
