Horse steppin is still gives me such a strong emotional reaction. it does slow me and calm me down, but it definetly doesn't leave me at peace
"Here I go killin' again"
Is the famous "cold blood" starting in your veins
The first track makes you feel like you are wafting in and out of an 80s fever dream. The distorted piano chords matched with the reverbed vocals and castanets make for a queasy wrong-sounding track that sets the tone of the game right off the bloody bat.
The second song sounds like a pumping 80's nightclub with everybody moving in time with the beat. The repetitive deafening synth beeps help disorientate the player and ready them for the bloodbath that lays ahead.
That was the perfect description. I could never put into words how that song made me feel.
I too have to agree, perfect description. It is bloody terrifying how well the music works in game. Pinkish colours weaving in? Miami palms? Horse Steppin playing in? Yeah. This might be quite possibly one of the best "retro" games that came out in last ten years or so. Some people might dismiss it as a "desperate aim at retro pixel shit" but this game is SO MUCH MORE than anything. If anything, just for soundtrack.
It really is a great example of a kind of adult retro game that handles violence in such a acutely stylized way that it blurs the whole concept of right or wrong for the primordial thrill of pixelised murder.
Everything you guys just said.....
I remember when I first met "Hotline Miami". I had just finished playing "Team Fortress 2" when a Steam window popped up, promoting the new games of the week. And there was a promo depicting a guy in a pig mask, surrounded by enemies, carrying a chick on one arm, and an axe on the other. And there was a guy literally chopped to pieces at the floor. I saw that and I thought: "I kinda want to play this game". So I researched about it, and then I bought it: it was the first game I've ever bought on Steam. Before then, I was just playing "TF2" for free, and after that, I really got into Steam. "Hotline Miami" truly is an awesome, addicting game. And it has one of the best soundtracks I've ever heard. Now, this game became this sensation everybody talks about so much. I don't wanna sound like a hipster, going like "I liked it before it was cool!", but I'm never thought a game like this would become this popular.
That's how most indie games become popular, though word of mouth. If you find a game that is really good but unpopular then spread the word!
And Hotline Miami 2 is work in progress :)
hipster :P jk, i love that feeling of finding a truly amazing game. One you think might be alright but becomes an instant life long love soon as you play it.
I "found" fallout 2 when i was about 11, i'd never heard of it before n i thought it looked kinda cool. I was hooked within 10-15 minutes of playing, i must of logged over 400hrs in that game, just trying to find every little reference and sliver of dark humor. i'd never dropped so much time in a game and never did again until certain mmo's... which shall not be mentioned. I probably wouldnt play through it again to today but it holds a special place in my heart.
Thats why we're all going to buy and play Hotline Miami 2 when it comes out.

Ninth Glaive Movement speed is the problem, that's the drawback. I still prefer the knife with the Brandon mask, fast movement and the knife is both a melee and ranged, which makes a deadly combo.

I honestly don't know why no one loves Knock Knock as much as I do.
Knock knock is my favorite :D
Same here ^.-
I love it, but I love musik automatik the most
Knock Knock is like I'm back in the Scarface GTA Vice City days :D So smooth I could drink it haha
My personal favorite in the soundtrack, I really love everything by Scattle in here though.
Araw means "sun" in Tagalog, so his name is literally Sun Sun.
also sun araw means war anus backwards
Who invited Moon Moon???
We can always count on Gay Nutbuster for the neatest of trivia facts.
So anyways, i started busting
@@awesome_barabado Does it make you feel good?
just as win95 came with minesweeper and solitaire, hotline miami should be included in all future windows releases
This game is gory but also very beautiful in its own way
Best soundtrack of the year I think
***** Don't Care its too awesome!
***** well, 2012 is a year as well.
Scattle - It's Safe Now, very underrated and chill as fuck.
I couldn't agree more
Yeah probably my fav after jasper byrne - miami.
My favourite thing to listen to on a night drive, love the baseline

i'm a pacifist.
but i'm just saying, if hydrogen would ever start playing in a club, i can't guarantee for anything.
You can't say a pacifist wouldn't a fist
I myself dabbled in pacifism not in nam of course
I highly doubt you've been in many situations that have genuinely called for violence. Kind of disingenuous to call yourself a pacifist when there is no threat of violence in your life.
@@ggggg77273 my dude you're arguing about the definition of pacifism on a youtube comment where i make a joke about killing people because a certain song plays. like what.
Hotline Miami Seriously needs an awesome movie or web series......Anyone Else agree?!
Yes a show about a guy walking into houses and brutally murdering people in as short a time as possible then leaving would be a great idea. I'd invest hundreds of cents into such an endeavor, if I was heavily inebriated.
no.
***** I mean the visceral murder is great, but it's great because it's a video game. As a movie it would lose the interactivity. We already have endless movies of guys killing other guys for an unclear purpose.
The joys of Anal Rape Yeah but if they were going to do it they would probably add a story so the endless brutal murder didnt get boring
Honestly I thought this was a movie when I first heard of it.
M O O N and Sun Araw are fucking beast
Knock-Knock was awesome too.
Inner Animal is my fav
I was 14 when this released?
Shit, please take me back
Same :(

Miami by Jasper Byrne is the best for me
I don't blaze, but I imagine that while high this sound track would be amazing. Can anyone confirm?
I'm gonna try it out for you... i'll get back to you later and let you know how it was.
Jack Thomson Overdozed?
Its amazing, even better than normal.
yup, just already confirmed this, absolutly amazing
As a former 420 blazer pothead stoner yolo swag prince, I can confirm that this song is amazing not high.
Hotline Miami is another world. Perfect audio visual interactive experience. Never played anything like it
Yep its the most underrated thing that i ever seen
I procrastinated on my homework to do lesson planning for my classes as a teacher, and I need good music to feel like I'm not merely suffering and existing.
Everyday mood
Why this comment is so relatable?
get well soon, brother :)
Is it hard being a teacher?
Best music in games, ever.
This game has got to be in my top 5 games ever. It's immersion was amazing even with the top down view. The story was so awesome. These developers created a game that should be on top for games of the last 10 years.
damn i shoud lprobably play it
Как же я обожаю время от времени попадаться на этот видео и снова отправляться на уже ставшим родным штат Майами
Штат Майами... кринж
Oh my god, "horse steppin" is just.....wow, i feel like i'll die soon, with the water touching my feets, seeing the sky for the last time, blood everywhere, just the chaotic silence, some voices coming in my head, like if i was getting insane.
This music really punched me in the guts.
try it on psychedelics :)
